Meeting elders of the family

Meeting elders of the family

The night had passed too fast for Robin. He had spent hours talking with the William family members, many of whom he had never met before. Names, faces, and small details about their lives flashed through his mind. Some of them had seemed genuinely interested in his life on Earth, while others were more curious about his reintroduction to the William family and what his future role might be. There had been moments of laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the steady sound of conversation filled the grand banquet hall.

And just like that, the family gathering was over.

Linda William, the family head, rose from her seat and stood up. The room fell silent as all eyes turned to her. She gave a small but commanding smile, her eyes scanned over the guests.

"Thank you all for coming tonight," she said in a voice that carried authority, despite its calm tone. "It's always a pleasure to see so many of the family gathered together. I hope each and every one of you will continue to work for the family in future.I wish you all well, and safe travels to those of you returning to your homes."

With that, the night began to draw to a close. Some of the guests, eager to leave, began filing out of the grand hall toward the exit. Those who had come from far away or wanted to rest, made their way to the guest quarters within the mansion. There are more than enough empty rooms in the estate to host . Robin, having done his part in making a good impression and socializing, was ready to head back to his mansion and want to reflect on today's event . He was exhausted, his mind buzzing from all the conversations and new faces.

"Well, that’s that," Robin muttered to himself as he left the banquet hall, nodding farewell to a few distant relatives he had only just met.

Outside the room, he found Oliver waiting for him, standing with his usual composed demeanor.

"Oliver, let's head back. I think I've had enough of this family for one night," Robin said with a tired smile.

Oliver, however, didn’t move. He looked at Robin and said . "I was just about to prepare the car, sir," he said, pausing for a moment before continuing, "but the family head wishes to speak with you before we leave."

Robin blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "Wait, what ?" he asked, not entirely sure he'd heard correctly. "She wants to talk to me? Now?"

Oliver nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, sir. She has requested your presence in one of the private dining rooms."

Robin felt surprised, because she did all the public announcements in the banquet hall so what's more . He remembered The last time he had spoken with Linda William had been tense, to say the least. It had been shortly after his arrival in this world, and though she had welcomed him into the family, but the atmosphere was something else .

"Any idea what this is about?" Robin asked, trying to keep his voice casual, though his nerves were starting to creep up on him.

"I'm afraid not," Oliver replied with a slight shake of his head. "But it's best not to keep the family head waiting."

Robin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Of course. Lead the way, then."

As he followed Oliver through the labyrinthine corridors of the William estate, his thoughts began to swirl.

Robin followed Oliver through the grand hallway, his mind wandering as they approached one of the mansion's elegant dining rooms. When they reached the door, the servant standing in front nodded respectfully and opened it.

As Robin stepped inside, his eyes widened in surprise. Seated at the long dining table sat Linda William, along with several other elders. Their presence made the room's atmosphere very heavy.

Robin felt it was so hard to breathe but he quickly tried to get himself in control. sensing Robin was suffering this linda said "stop martin, kid doesn't know how to control aether. "

" I was just testing him." With a smile Said the guy who linda addressed as martin. Suddenly the room felt normal and robin could breathe again. Robin took a deep breath and tried to assess his situation.

"Don't mind him, although he is old as a fossil but he still behaves like kid," Linda spoke, her voice firm yet welcoming. "We've been expecting you."

"take a sit" linda said with a commanding voice. Robin like child did as she said and sat on a chair prepared by servants.

Robin sat quietly as Linda William introduced the elders at the table. Each of them seemed powerful and important.

"I know you already read about them in the family book but I'll introduce them properly"

Linda first pointed to the man who had tested him earlier. "This is Martin William," she said. "He's the chief of the family’s military.

Martin gave Robin a brief nod. "You handled the situation better than i thought," he said with a small smile.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Next was a sharp-eyed old woman . "This is Serena William, in charge of the family’s finances. She oversees our wealth and treasury."

Robin nodded, feeling her eyes assess him.

Linda then introduced a man who looked more like a scholar. "This is Lucius William, our chief scientist. He leads research and development, although most of the time he creates wired stuff but still he is one of the best minds in the galaxy."

Lucius adjusted his glasses, and said " hey don't badmouth about me Infront of me. "

Linda once again pointed at the woman in strange cloth " she is Layla William, the head of magic and research also she's good with ancient civilizations"

Finally, Linda gestured to a quiet man at the end of the table. "This is Gareth William, he is the oldest here and retired he doesn't do anything other than just sit and eat."

Gareth said nothing, but his gaze made Robin uncomfortable, as if he knew all of Robin’s secrets.

After the introductions, Linda looked directly at Robin. "These are the elders who help run the family. There are others but they didn't come to today's function. You know the more you age the more lazy you become"

Linda leaned forward slightly, her expression softening. "How have your days been here so far, kid? I apologize for not keeping an eye on you, but my duties have kept me busy."

Robin, still slightly on edge but determined to be honest, nodded respectfully. "Thanks to family's privilege and the allowance you’ve given me. It’s made things much easier. After teleporting here, things have been... different, but overall, I’ve had a good time exploring the city."

The elders exchanged glances before Serena spoke. "You’ve lived most of your life on Earth, haven’t you? How was it there? What was your life like before... all this?" She waved her hand vaguely, implying his sudden reintroduction to the William family.

Robin hesitated for a moment, thinking back to his life on Earth the mundane daily work, the loneliness after losing his family, and the spiral that eventually led to him quitting his job. "Earth is... simple compared to here. It’s a different kind of life, with different priorities. I worked for a company, day in and day out, but after my family passed away, I felt lost. I quit my job to live in my grandfather's house,That’s when I found this bracelet in his old stuff, now I'm here ."

" didn't you say he Left a diary with some unknown language, do you remember what was written there." asked layla

Robin replied running his memory " i don't remember to be honest, for me most of them were like gibberish and I didn't know back than it was important"

Layla’s eyes widened with curiosity when Robin mentioned the diary. "A diary, you say? Written in an unknown language? That’s very interesting."

Before Robin could respond, Layla rose from her seat and swiftly moved toward him, she saw rather quick considering her age. She placed her hand on top of Robin’s. He barely had time to react before he felt a sharp, sudden pain shoot through his hand. It wasn’t unbearable, but it startled him. The sensation lasted only a few seconds, and then it was gone.

Robin felt dumbfounded .

Linda, watching from her seat, chuckled softly. "Don’t mind her, Robin. She means no harm. Layla simply read a small portion of your memory, just enough to understand the diary you mentioned."

Robin’s pulse slowed as he processed Linda’s words, but the initial shock remained. The thought that someone could access his memories so easily scared him. But at least, he thought, she’s family. She wouldn’t use it against him... right?

Layla, noticing his unease, gave him a gentle smile. "No need to be afraid, Robin. I only saw glimpses related to the diary, nothing more. The language he used is the common language used in Arora . But from your memory i couldn't even recover more than half a page, i don't know but something or someone prevents me from peaking. Strange !!."

Everyone was surprised after hearing her.

She looked and said with a smile " hey !! don't look at me like that,i have my limitations besides it might be some kind of law preventing me so if I can't peak nobody can"

Robin exhaled deeply, relieved yet still cautious. "I'm sorry, i didn't know it was important, if i knew i would've tried to memorize it."

" Don't stress it, even if you knew you couldn't have done anything."

Robin felt assured and said while trying to show a fake smile.

" It’s just a bit overwhelming to know that my memories can be accessed like that."

"Only by a few of us," Layla added reassuringly. "And we only do it when necessary, with good intentions of course."

Linda leaned forward again, her tone reassuring but firm. "This is why we asked you here, Robin. You’re part of the family, and with that comes both power and responsibility. We look out for each other, but there are things you’ll need to understand and accept."

Robin nodded slowly, still processing everything. The diary, the bracelet, his new family—it was all coming together in ways he hadn’t anticipated. "I understand. And I’ll do my best to learn and contribute where I can."

Layla returned to her seat, her eyes still gleaming with interest. "Good. That's the spirit ."

Linda took the wheel of the conversation "let the past be gone. What my brother did what he saw i think that was not for us to see. And also remember don't try to seek the unknown it's never brought anything good for anyone." All the elders nodded in agreement. She continued, " So, What's your plan for the future, Robin? What will you do with the wealth you've got?"

Robin paused, his mind racing. It wasn’t a question he had an answer to. The events of the past few months had thrown him into a whirlwind, teleporting from his normal life on Earth to a world of unimaginable wealth, power, and expectations.

"Thanks for giving me all of my grandfather's stuff although i think i don't deserve it and I don't have proper understanding... And also I don’t know," he replied honestly. "I’m not sure what to do next."

Linda’s gaze softened, and one of the elder Gareth , a man who had been quiet for most of the conversation, chuckled. "Don’t stress over it, kid. You’ll figure it out in time. Just enjoy life for now. Everything will fall into place."

Another elder, Serena, nodded. "You have time, Robin. But remember, wealth comes with responsibility, don't get blinded by wealth and always try to be humble. Trust your servants, they are bound by an oath to never betray a William family member. However, they can act indirectly, so being careful is always a good thing also you can trust the kid Oliver, his is a good kid."

Linda’s voice carried a more serious tone. "This wealth, this power... it can be dangerous if you’re not careful. Always watch your back. And remember, if you need anything, the family is here. We look after our own."

With that, the conversation shifted to lighter topics, and soon, Robin was dismissed. He exchanged farewells with the family head and the elders, who assured him that they would see him in the future. As he left the room, the weight of their words stayed with him.

Oliver and Andrew, his butler and guard, were waiting for him outside the mansion. As they walked down the grand steps toward the car waiting to take them back to Robin’s mansion, Oliver spoke up.

"Congratulations sir, you're now officially a family member ," Oliver said with a small smile. "It’s quite an accomplishment, to be recognized and accepted by the family in this way."

Robin nodded, though his thoughts were elsewhere. The night had been overwhelming, and now, with so much to consider, his mind was spinning. He had gone from being an ordinary salaryman on Earth to one of the wealthiest individuals in the galaxy in just a few short months. He had a family name that carried power, it almost felt like a lucid dream .

As they drove through the night, heading back to his estate, Robin gazed out the window at the passing city. The lights of the city and nights sky blurred together, reflecting his tangled thoughts. He thought back to his life before all of this ,working a dead-end job, struggling with the loss of his family, and feeling trapped in a cycle of repeat. How quickly everything had changed.

Now, with wealth beyond his wildest imagination, he was faced with the question of what to do next. He thanked the lady luck, feeling lucky to be in this position, but beneath the excitement was uncertainty. What did he truly want? What purpose would drive him forward in this new life? He had spent so long just trying to live like a normal person, that the idea of thriving, of making something of himself with all this new power and money, felt foreign.

"What should I do with all of this money?" Robin muttered to himself, his eyes still fixed on the city lights.

Oliver, who had been watching Robin in the rearview mirror, spoke gently. "You’ll figure it out, sir. You have time. There’s no rush."

Andrew, always the straightforward one, added, "And if you don’t know yet, just focus on protecting what you have. That’s important too."

Robin smiled faintly, appreciating their words. He was grateful for their presence. In this new world, surrounded by power, politics, and family dynamics, Oliver and Andrew were the only people he talks honestly.

As the car pulled up to his mansion, estate that now belonged to him, Robin stepped out and paused for a moment to take in the view.

As they walked inside the mansion, Robin took a deep breath, feeling both the weight and the opportunity that his new life presented. Whatever came next, he was ready to face it. One step at a time.

Although he was tired but Robin slept late today. Thoughts are running haywire in his mind he took some time to organize them.
