"You’ve been playing this game for less time than me. How the hell do you have better gear than I do?" The girl asked, her tone a mix of frustration and curiosity.
Robin glanced at her, amused. "A little bit of money can do wonders," he replied with a smirk.
"Full set of legendary gear? You must be rich as hell!" She pressed, eyeing his character’s shining armor and guns with envy.
"Not rich," Robin shrugged, his tone casual. "But yeah, I’ve got some money as allowance."
Her eyes lit up. "Hey, hey, hey! Give me some money for gear!" she demanded eagerly, stepping in front of his avatar to block his path.
Robin chuckled and sidestepped her. "You’re rich too. Why don’t you just buy it yourself?"
"I already blew my allowance for the year!" She said, throwing her hands up dramatically. "Besides, if I have good gear, it'll help you in the long run too! You don’t want me running around in scraps while we’re trying to clear dungeons, do you?"
"Right," Robin said, rolling his eyes, clearly unconvinced.
She followed him closely, her voice rising. "I’m serious! With the stats I’ve got now, I’m basically just a glorified healer and backup. You want me to hold my own, don’t you?"
"Uh-huh," Robin muttered, half-listening as he focused on navigating the dungeon's tricky terrain.
"Think of it this way!" She continued, now walking backward to stay in front of him, her avatar animatedly gesturing. "If I get better gear, I’ll stop dying in every boss fight, and we won’t have to waste resources reviving me. Plus, I can finally deal real damage!"
"Or you could, you know, stop rushing headfirst into enemies like you’re invincible," Robin suggested, raising an eyebrow.
She huffed. "What’s the fun in that? Besides, I can’t help it if I’m aggressive!" She paused for a second, then added, "Also, I might’ve accidentally aggroed a boss once or twice."
"Once or twice? More like every time," Robin teased, shaking his head.
"Okay, okay, fine!" She said with a dramatic sigh. "I’m a little reckless, I admit it. But that’s why you need to help me! It’s for the greater good. You wouldn’t leave your partner hanging, would you?"
Robin gave her a sideways glance, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "My partner in crime, huh? You’re really milking this, aren’t you?"
She grinned back. "Of course! You know we make a great team. Think about all the dungeons we’ve cleared together already! We could dominate this game if you just invest a tiny bit into my gear."
Robin looked away, still pretending to ignore her, but her persistence was hard to shake off. He finally sighed. "You’ve really got no shame, huh?"
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
"Nope!" She said proudly, standing tall. "None whatsoever. So, what do you say?"
"I say," Robin paused, opening his inventory and scrolling through it, "you’re going to owe me big time if I do this."
Her face lit up. "You’re really doing it? Yes! Thank you! I’ll owe you a favor. Anything you want! I’ll even tank a boss for you if I have to."
"Deal," Robin said, sending her a few in-game credits. "But if you blow this on cosmetics instead of gear, I’m cutting you off."
She snorted, her tone mocking. "As if I’d waste this on cosmetics! I’m all about functionality. Well, mostly."
Robin smiled and decided to ignore her for the time being. The girl kept ranting as the duo decided to clear a dungeon.
The loud girl robin was talking all this time is his new friend. Her name is Tory.
She's from the central continent. She is from a merchant household. But her behavior is not that of a merchant she is loud and talkative even not that good at the game , she blew all her money in the game's gacha now broke.
In this small amount of time she became so free with robin that If he pressed her enough shell give him her house address.as she said she is now his partner in crime in this game.
As they approached the entrance to the dungeon, Tory turned to him, her voice excited. "Alright, partner! Let’s do this! Time to wipe out some monsters and show everyone why we’re the best duo in the game!"
Robin smiled, shaking his head. "You just can’t stop talking, can you?"
"Why would I? You love it," Tory grinned, spinning her character in circles as they waited for the dungeon gate to open.
"Sure, sure," Robin muttered, unable to hide his amusement as they both entered the dungeon together, ready for another wild adventure. Tory’s loud voice filled the space, as usual, as she continued to rant about the best strategies and how her new gear would totally turn the tide in their favor.
Despite all the noise, Robin couldn’t help but feel a little grateful. In this crazy virtual game , he had found a friend who, for all her antics, made the game a whole lot more fun.
Bidding Tory a quick goodbye, Robin stepped out of his gaming pod, stretching his limbs after hours of playing. Oliver was already waiting by the pod with a towel, his ever-present calm demeanor intact.
"You seem to be having a good time in the game," Oliver said, eyeing Robin with mild amusement.
"Yeah, kind of," Robin replied with a grin. He tilted his head slightly, an idea forming. "You and Andrew should join the game too. We can play as a group, it'll be fun. I can order pods for you guys if you want."
Oliver chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Thank you, but I’m not much into gaming. And Andrew... well, you know how he is. I doubt anything outside of training catches his interest."
Robin shrugged, a playful smile still on his face. "Whatever you wish. Looks like I’m all alone in this grand adventure to save the world, then."
Oliver’s expression shifted, becoming more serious. "Sir, you have a very important task coming up soon. I think you should be more serious and prepare for it."
Robin raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "What task?"
"The New Year’s Eve celebration is approaching," Oliver began, his tone one of importance. "The family’s annual gathering will be held in about fifteen days. Members from all across the galaxy will come to the William estate, and I expect you’ll be the center of attention this year. This is your first appearance since coming here, after all. You need to make a strong impression."
Robin almost forgot about the event, liam told hime few time to prepare for the event.
Robin’s smile faltered a bit as the weight of the upcoming event settled in. "I guess I can’t just wing it, huh?"
Oliver gave him a knowing look. "I’m afraid not, sir. Your etiquette has improved significantly, but you still need to study how to talk like a nobel and remember all the high-ranking family elders. They’ll be expecting you to know who they are and their positions within the family."
"Great," Robin muttered, already imagining the pressure of mingling with relatives he barely knew. "Guess that means I’ll have to stop gaming for a while."
Oliver nodded, his tone taking on a slightly nagging edge. "Yes, you’ll need to focus on your studies, sir. The family gathering is not an event you can take lightly. Every movement, every word will be scrutinized. We need to make sure you leave a lasting, positive impression."
Robin sighed, running a hand through his hair. He knew Oliver was right. His carefree gaming obsessions would have to take a back seat to the demands of family responsibility. "Alright, alright. I get it."
As Robin’s mind shifted toward the task ahead, he quickly pulled up his messaging app from the terminal and sent a short message to Tory: "Hey, I’ll be busy with some family matters for about a month. Won’t be able to game as much. Don’t have too much fun without me."
Tory responded almost immediately: "What? You’re ditching me for a whole month? Who’s gonna carry me in the dungeons? You owe me big when you come back!"
Robin chuckled at her dramatic response but didn’t reply further. He turned his focus back to Oliver, who was already laying out a plan for the next few days.
"We’ll start by reviewing the family tree and key members," Oliver said, pulling out a holographic display. "After that, we’ll move on to etiquette lessons and discussions on the latest political landscape. The William family holds sway in many parts of the galaxy, so it’s crucial you’re well-informed."
Robin groaned internally but nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Let’s get to it."
And so, with Oliver standing by as his tutor, Robin immersed himself in the intricate web of family politics and high-society etiquette, putting his carefree gaming adventures on hold for the time being.
