If I ever find Slim-" "What did he do to you, besides the-" She points to her missing arm and uses a water tendril to point to her face, "Besides this?" The tendril quickly collapses and she rubs her face again, "He killed someone I liked, then manipulated me." What the hell was that light? Since when can I- Pipe wrench! I jerk my clenched hand forward. Jess squints at me, "Jess, why did you save him?" She puts her hand to her hip, "How-" She looks down at the untouched hip for a split second, then jerks up to look at me, "How do you know my name?" "I'm psychic." She tilts her head, then rolls her eyes, "Sure you are. Anyway- I saw him all beaten up, drowning. I couldn't just leave him."
