A dark hole? No, a tunnel? Thadius sits on his feet, covered in black tendrils. Subdued and drowned. I scream at the sight.
I open my eyes to the sound of a scream and rip the worm out of my mouth. They try to wriggle into my open wounds at a violent pace. I scream and rip away as a giant tendril whips me across my chest. I roar and trudge through the sewer and grip the abomination tight with both hands. "Slippery little bastard!" I rip it in half and the most disgusting smell explodes from it, metal containers and sharp objects plop out of it into the water. As those things painfully burrow under my skin, I follow a faint bit of light. I tense up my body and eventually, they stop burrowing. As more tendrils wriggle in, I collapse into the water, one wraps around my neck as oxygen bubbles escape my lungs. With one push of my legs on solid footing, I spring through the demonic depths, grabbing at my neck. My strength is long gone, ever since Slim screwed us. I can't even fight this lowly scum! My hands find a bar, then another, climbing up towards the little bit of light and water pouring through as the monsters try desperately to pull me back to the water.
No matter how many punches I throw at the heavy metal plate, it doesn't budge. With a loud distressed sigh, my hands ache as the tendrils yank at me. No matter how strong I used to be, I still lose grip, finger by finger. A pinky finally slips and I fall back in. I scream as a sharp object comes through my chest. Finally, I see one in the light, water pouring on it's head. Sharp teeth, an eyeless, pitch-black body to blend in with the shadows. It lunges towards my neck. With one duck, what little strength I've got left drives up through my fist. The thing hits the ceiling, on the way back down it pulls out the pole from my chest. Everyone that went down here, the kind ones. They all died and never came back. I have to make their sacrifices worth it. Just like back home, I must survive!
A guttural shout comes from my narrow vision, "I'll kill us both!" With a grunt, I leap up and with my weight, the pipes all tear down from the ceiling with me. With one forceful twist against hot metal, a section gives and steam spurts from the opening. With one more jerk, my arm tears as I break it off, steam floods from it. The tendril lets out a wild scream and rushes at me in slow motion. With my other arm, I grab the pipe and cleave through the monster, then twice. It screams, then reforms with ease. Despite that, I keep tearing away as it tries it's best to bite and flail recklessly. I stop as the water flushes a little. I quickly turn and run. A way out. Water rushes in from behind and I try to cover my head. The water slaps against me hard, then my head hits a wall.
I shout from the catwalk of the factory, "Verank! Jess! We gotta go!" She comes up behind me, "You need another arm or something, Slim?" With a smile and a march, she follows, "Nope, I'll need both your hands though." She sighs, "What for?" As Verank opens the factory doors, I point out a glow in the dense dark clouds, "We need to help a good friend of mine." She squints, her eyes widen at it, then turns to me, "Oh hell no! That is some terrorism level crap!" I smirk, "Yeah, so?" Almost brings a tear to my eye, my little brother's first big crime is so awesome. "You're insane if you think I'm helping!" With a shrug, I start marching as my hands twitch in excitement, "Oh well. Verank?" He shouts, "Sounds like fun!" Verank shakes the car as he plops down, giant cleaver-first into our stolen truck. "Into tense waters, it is."
Stolen story; please report.
Constant beeping comes from the closed hull of the ship, Jack shouts, "You said you could fly, Markus!" The controller jerks to the left as alerts come on the screen. "I'm trying!" I flip switches and levers in hopes it slows our descent, but nothing helps. Jean shouts, "Stop! You're making it worse!" Mama shouts at the top of her lungs, "Please sit down and let him focus! My heart can only take us falling from the sky! Not y'all bickering too!" Jack and Jean sigh, Rose walks up and looks at our monitors, "Oooh, open the shudders!" Jean shouts, "No!" She clicks the button and the outer shell opens up, dark clouds all below us, electric storms. Jean looks down, "Can we even get through that?" As the warnings stop beeping with little Rose's input, Scott marches up and rests a hand on my shoulder, "We have to."
As we descend through the clouds, rain starts dripping against the bulletproof glass. The further down, the harder the rain gets, the ship creaks against the stress. Jack and Rose say in unison, "I hope they're all alive." I used to smile at something like this, them both turning to one another. But I can beat the statement. They will survive. "This is Commander Carter! Broadcasting to all military personnel! Find the family of Scott Crawford and detain them! It is a matter of National security!" My fingers tap against my hands and Jean lays a hand on me, "It's ok. You'll find them." He continues, "All military personnel, converge on the dropship landing soon, they are terrorists! Capture at all costs!" As we finally cut through the clouds, through the layers of rain smacking against the glass, a dark island lies on the horizon, tiny lights shining back at us. A loud noise comes from outside, then we start drooping. I shout, "Markus!?" "We aren't making it to shore!" I grip into his shoulder, "Get us close as possible!"
Everyone looks up to the speakers as they cut on, "All Onyx personnel, strap up! You deploy in five! Terrorists are attempting to land hijacked spacecraft in Kinelt waters! They must come in alive for you to get paid!" Bullet stretches, "Amber!" Everyone looks our way, "Y-yes, Bullet?" He smiles wide while grabbing his wounds, "Go in my place!" But- He leans in, "I'll be okay. I also have to do something else anyway." With a quick nod, he whispers, "Don't let that bastard feed you more lies. You see him, kill him. Or else." Don't look down, just keep looking at him. His eyes are just as crazed as Cornelius'. He finally turns and waves goodbye. Kill him?
