The step by step instructions for the potions was quite clear and easy to understand and as I knew from the skills ingrained knowledge timing was a key component as well. While it was possible to create potions , pills and supplements by just tossing everything in all at once it almost always turned out inferior to using a steady and organized approach. The first step for this particular potion was to add the berries and ginseng to the grinding pot that was basically just a much nicer and easier to use mortar and pestle.-
The one I had was solar powered and had various settings for how fine I wanted the stuff in it reduced to paste or powder. In this case it wasn't a big issue as to how fine it was so i just set it to medium and ignored it before turning to the next step that could be done with the rest of the ingredients minus the spore from the mushroom. Everything was crushed and placed in the alembic alongside the water before getting set to boil over a burner. This served to distill the essence of the ingredients into a clean smooth liquid after the essence infused steam condensates.-
The left over dregs can be discarded since they lose most of their properties during this process. The grinding pot finished it's work while the alembic did it's thing so I took out the paste from it and placed it in a cloth bag that i then sealed before placing in the mixing pot that was used for the final product. The mixing pot was already filling with the distilled essence fluid from the alembic which seeped into the cloth bag and began to cause the medicinal properties of the paste to seep out into the hot fluid.-
I used a mixing rod to stir around and squish the cloth bag to make sure all the properties were extracted and infused into the fluid that was already a deep blue color before removing the bag and straining the liquid left over in it into the pot. Finally I added the spores and stirred vigorously which caused the fluid to change color into a vibrant green indicating success. After that I bottled the fluid in six different flasks and sealed each. 'Now to clean up my equipment before the residues start to set.' I thought as I went to work thoroughly scouring my stuff.-
My pokemon watched me as I worked at first but the only one that kept interest in the subject of alchemy was Tank while the rest quickly grew bored and chose other ways to pass the time as I worked. Once I was satisfied with how clean my equipment was I picked up a flask of energy potion and used observe on it.
[Item name: Energy potion
Grade: common(mid)
Description: A potion created by Alexander Drake that energized and improves the training of the pokemon or person that consumes it. Contains flaws from during it's creation but works as intended.]
All in all I was satisfied with the result despite the flaws mentioned in the description. I knew what the flaws were and as a result was aware that they couldn't be taken out with my portable setup during the creation process. I would need an extremely high grade alchemy lab for something like that and those weren't portable so this was the best I could do with this recipe. Still it was good enough that I could easily sell this to the league without any issue at all.-

With that done I used the remaining three exp tickets on Rune to bump his level up to forty eight letting him learn thunder. The rest of his move pool improved grades as well which I was always happy to see. His current status looked like this after the tickets were used on him.

If this was based off the game Rune would be seen as a bug existence that was capable of taking on the elite four leveled pokemon despite still being in his first form. Reality however was that he was in fact just a smidge under the four badge level at the moment. I also noticed that much like his stat alignment Rune was heavily geared towards being a special attacker for his typing as most of his moves consisted of these type of moves.-
'I should probably start teaching him some physical moves of other types to even him out and give him variety in case electric doesn't work.' I thought after seeing his list of moves and his heavily underutilized attack stat. On a positive note however thanks to Runes level he was now just strong enough to spar with Gaia and Vulcan without getting absolutely thrashed. Gaia will always have a type advantage against his primary typing but in a straight up physical brawl Rune can now hold his own with her.-
Sadly I was aware that after she evolved to her final form that was very much going to change as while she was able to battle effectively as she currently was her form locked her out of a LOT of tactics involving her arms , legs and mouth that her first and final forms had. For example she can't use her races natural jaw strength at the moment to crush whatever she gets her mouth on. Even worse thanks to her variation as a royal at her final stage she will have potential and stats only slightly lower than Vulcan who was a bonified legendary.-
Rune was smart enough to know when he was outmatched but tenacious enough to keep trying despite this. At the end of the day while I was setting up camp something happened. "Pi! Caterpie!" Tank said suddenly and I couldn't help but get a little excited as he told me that he hit his max nutrient storage for his evolution. "Alright take these supplements and give me that everstone so we can see if this was even worth it." I said with a smile as I dug out the high grade bug type supplements I got from Mr. Stone while setting Tank on the ground.-
Everyone gathered around as Tank devoured the supplements had I retrieved the everstone from him. Immediately bright rainbow colored light wrapped around his form and hovered slightly above the ground. I compared it to Gaia when she evolved and found that it was nearly the same if much smaller so i was hopeful that the extra effort paid off. "You guys keep watch over Tank while i finish preparing dinner." I said knowing that evolution was not a fast process. My team did exactly that too as they were just as excited about it as I was.
