The funny part was that thanks to my fast speed I actually caught up to the grunt right when he was trying to make off with the Wingull name Peeko. I drew my spear rotated my hold on it and threw it as hard as I could at where I thought the grunts leg was going to be in a moment. "SWOOSH! CRUNCH! AAAAAHHHHH!" The spear soared through the air precisely shot through the grunts left kneecap from behind like it wasn't even there. The grunt dropped the Wingull and goods screaming in agony as he fell over and rolled.-
"PEEKO!" the old man I immediately identified as Mr. Briney yelled worried about his pokemon as I hopped a few times to kill my momentum before walking over. "Are you alright? This thief didn't hurt you before i got him with my spear I hope?" I asked feigning concern. "Aye lad , I'm fine and you got him just in time to save my darling Peeko too! If theres ever a need you might have of me feel free to visit and ask it! The names Briney by the way!" Mr. Briney said clearly very grateful. I nodded before turning my attention to the grunt holding his leg in pain while still screaming in pain.-
I casually released Rune from his ball and walked over to my spear and picked yanked it out of the ground where the head had sank in two feet AFTER going through the grunts kneecap. There was some blood on the weapon so I wiped it on the grunts uniform before picking the goods up and putting them safely in my satchel. "Tank give me a bit of rope." I said and the sturdy Caterpie spat out some silk threads that wove together into about five feet of braided rope.-
Crouching down next to the grunt i ignored his cries of pain and placed the rope above the knee and grabbed a nearby stick before making a makeshift tourniquet that cut off all circulation bellow it. "Bind this in place before wrapping him up Tank." I commanded and a sticky glob of silk landed on the tourniquet holding it in place even after i released it. After that Tank covered the grunt in silk below the shoulders. "HUP!" I grunted as I foisted the grunt onto my unoccupied shoulder like a sack of potatoes.-
"I'm going to go drop this one off with and officer in the city , want to come with?" I asked the old man but he shook his head. "These old bones would only slow you down go on ahead of me young man." he said and I nodded before jogging back to the city while Rune used quick attack to keep up with me. The reason I released rune instead of Vulcan was that this was both good training for Rune and Vulcan would probably kill anything stupid enough to try and pick a fight at us passing by.-
I was already going to create a scene by bringing this grunt into the city in this condition and didn't need the added flak from killing a bloody swathe on my way back as well. Most of the pokemon that chose to attack did so in hopes of turning the crippled grunt into a meal but Rune stopped every attack quickly and efficiently. Soon enough the dirt under my feet was replaced by hard road and I saw the Devon researcher guy ahead talking to a Jenny. I balled Rune and jogged over casually and tossed the grunt down on the ground with a shrug making him cry out in pain again.-

"Do you not like legs or something?" the green suited guy asked with an odd look after seeing the crippled limb. "It's the fasted way to stop them from running." I said with a shrug. "I take it this is the thief then?" the Jenny asked and the man nodded. "Yeah he was about to take an old mans pokemon hostage too before I sent my spear through his knee." I added helpfully. "Thank you for your "assistance" in this matter but I'll take it from here" the Jenny said with a perturbed look at the wound on the grunt.-
"Sure , so you want your stuff back now or would you prefer to get it back at the Devon building?" I asked the guy after directly choosing to ignore the Jenny after she dismissed me. I could feel her anger spike for a moment before it got smothered by guilt and understanding. "You should hold onto it until I can talk with the president about this matter." he said seriously and I nodded "After you" I said calmly. We walked over to the Devon building with the man looking nervous as if there were robbers everywhere.-
The clerk gave me a funny look when I walked into the building with the man but didn't say anything as I followed behind him. We took the elevator all the way up to the top floor that had the Presidential office. "Wait here while I talk to the president for a moment." the guy said seriously as he stepped out of the elevator while the security guards were giving me strange looks. I could understand why too as in their minds I was just here not long ago to sell something and now I am here with an employee.-
A few moments later the guy returned "He wants to speak to you , come along." he said and walked to the side of the huge desk that Mr. Stone had. I walked up to the desk casually "You really need a better way to keep your companies secrets safe , this is the second time I've had to lend aid for it." I said jokingly. "Oh? Well if you have any suggestions I am all ears." Mr. stone said half joking half seriously. "Hmmm , maybe some security ghost types? Sableye would fit the role pretty well with the right training." I offered after some thought. -
"HAHAHA! Phoebe would kiss you if she heard what you just said. That girl has been trying to get pokemon of that type into the business sector for awhile now." Mr. Stone said with a boisterous laugh. "Based on their traits I am more surprised they weren't already in use for this stuff." I said honestly. I meant it too as ghost types were perfect for secretly guarding people or objects as they could hide from nearly anything that wasn't also a ghost type and could get really strong to boot.-
"The pesky things are like playful children or absolute menaces with absolutely no indication when they switch. They would disrupt work even if they were good guards just from their pranks or random attacks on employees." Mr. Stone explained and I thought about it for a moment and couldn't really find an argument for that. "Enough about that though , It would seem like you are quite reliable so I would like to hire you for a couple jobs that are also coincidentally on your journey as well." Mr. Stone said with a grin.
