It was a damn good thing they didn't either as the lowest level any of them had was fifteen and the highest that I saw was a level seventy eight Pelipper. Obviously I was NOT going to do anything to turn the pokemon hostile if I could avoid it. What a fucking joke , that one pokemon could likely kill all of us without much trouble at all. Instead my team and I skirted around the wild pokemon groups until we were out of range. At that point I got to see my first real look at the sea that crashed into the bottom of the cliff.-
To be more specific the waves went through the bottom of the cliff that had been corroded heavily by the constant relentless tide to this degree over many years. Thanks to the collapses of some parts of the cliff though I was able to make out a small beach at the base of the cliff. Getting there was easy as Gaia just used her earth and rock energy to shift the hard stone of the cliff into sand that was moved over the side. She did this at an angle so that we could travel down to the beach without out much trouble.-
The cliffs weren't very high so she was only a little tired by the time we arrived at the small beach. We weren't alone there at all however as it turns out a small colony of Spheal line pokemon lived there. There was only a single Walrein in the colony but it was level seventy three so I made my peaceful intentions clear immediately. I thanked RNGESUS for aura at this point since pokemon are naturally far more aware of the energy than humans the whole colony could feel my sincerity through my projected aura.-
It cost me most of my reserves but the big boss Walrein accepted my presence fairly easily though made it clear it would not tolerate any funny business. I was totally fine with that since I mostly just wanted to look for any treasures that may be found here. While it was possible that they had all be taken by the colony I was hopeful none the less. Out of the colony I actually found a pokemon with a variation which caught me off badly guard. It needs to be understood that this was the first wild variant I had ever seen.-
It was merely a standard color swapped shiny Spheal but a variation was a variation and so caught me by surprise. I admit I was sorely tempted to try and catch the thing but the "fuck around and find out" glare I was getting from the whole colony the moment I looked like I wanted to told me it was best to not do that. If it was alone you better believe that I would have tried but it wasn't and I wasn't suicidal enough to try and take on an army of higher leveled and type advantaged pokemon.-
"Alright guys , split up and see if you can't find anything interesting and remember if you value your lives don't fuck with the colony pokemon." I said before splitting up with my team to search the beach. The sand was dirty yellow which made it both easier and harder to spot things in it. The lighter colored stuff like bones , teeth and coral where very hard to spot while other things like scales , plants , stones and fossils stood out like sore thumbs. Yes there was fossils here but not of pokemon. Rather the fossils here were of small fish , crabs and other ancient sea dwelling creatures.-

That wasn't to say that I didn't find a pokemon fossil as I did find a fossilized Magikarp that analyze told me was an ancient member of the species. Unfortunately the fossil would only serve as an interesting show piece as analyze told me it couldn't be regenerated as the DNA was too damaged. Knowing that in this world there was in fact people who would want a thing like this I carried the huge piece of rock over to the path out of the beach and set it down.-
My bag might have expanded space and refrigeration abilities but there was always a limit and in this case stuffing a meter and a half wide stone into a foot wide bag opening was it. Whatever nonsense the games made you think was wrong. The logic breaking power of the game bags simply did not translate over to reality. That wasn't the only good stuff I got from my own search either. In fact I found two other things worth mentioning , a Milotic scale and and an old wooden crate that had likely come from a ship wreck and washed ashore.-
Inside the crate though was the real treasure in the form of an antique lockbox that was waterproof to protect it's contents. It was a crude thing made with rough techniques that made me thing it might be several hundred years old. The only reason it hadn't corroded from what I could see was that it had a thin coat of some sort of gel that along side the rotten cloth packaging and crate had kept the sea away from it. 'It must be quite valuable if there was so much done to protect it' I though while calling Vulcan over to help me bust it open.-
It was quite eager to assist in this matter much to my amusement and wasted no time at all carefully crushing the hinges into powder allowing it to pry the lid off without damaging the contents. While I am sure the box itself might hold some sort of value I didn't feel like lugging it around till I could open it without damaging it. Once the lid was removed I saw the inside of the lockbox and frowned in confusion. The inside of the box held a chunk of ore the size of a grapefruit with a very iron like appearance to it.-
[Item name: Life iron
Description: An extremely rare form of metal that conducts aura very well and was prized by aura users long ago as a prime material for a conduit weapon.]
I analyzed the metal and immediately punched the air above me in excitement "YES!" I exclaimed happily. This metal had been mentioned in the information in my aura skill but when I looked it up on the pokenav there was nothing , not a single piece of information on it at all.-
Conduit weapons was a misleading name since the items made with this stuff rarely was weapons. Truthfully conduit weapons came in one of three forms normally that each had their own techniques , needles , jewelry and gloves. Needles had a technique for pressure point healing and or assassination. Oh yeah aura users make extremely potent assassins with the right techniques as all it took was them disrupting the aura flow in a particular manner to end a life. Add on stealth and not only will the death look natural but no one will even realize that the aura user was there , yeah dark stuff.
