I chatted with Duking for a bit until Silva walked into the building. "I was out looking for the remaining shadow pokemon, why did you need to see me?" Silva asked confused. "That would be because of me in truth, not to worry this'll only take a few moments at most. I will be leaving the region soon since I discovered why no wild pokemon live here and I need someone to keep my house clean while I am not present. Duking volunteered you." I said calmly.-
The silver haired dude looked at Duking like he had been insulted. The buff man just shrugged "He just dropped five million poke on the region. Plus you need a place of yours anyway since you keep crashing here." he said honestly. It was rather funny to watch Silva try to find some sort of excuse to say no but after I mentioned all the perks that came with the job including the VERY well stocked garden that was continuously producing new herbs, fruits and vegetables he had a lot of trouble. "Perfect, just stop by at your earliest convenience and I'll add you to the array." I said once he agreed.-
"Array?" he asked confused. "Sort of like a mystical version of a lock if you would, makes it so only people registered to it can open the door otherwise you'd not be able to get in at all." I explained honestly. "What do you mean mystical?" Duking asked confused. I raised my hand and flared my aura across my palm like a bright rainbow light. "I'm an aura master, a practitioner of the ancient and deeply mystical art of controlling life energy. The array is made using an extremely advanced aura technique and thus is in and of itself mystical in nature." I explained calmly.-
"That got anything to do with shadow pokemon?" Silva asked with narrowed eyes. I shook my head "It's not that simple, aura is neutral, not good nor bad. Like all things though it can be used for evil just as it can good, shadow pokemon are one such example. I am a positive aura user however so the idea of shadow pokemon is repulsive to me." I clarified. "I see, so aura is a tool more or less then?" Silva asked and I nodded.-
I had to clarify that he wouldn't be learning how to use aura nor would it be needed to for the job. Instead it was just a simple matter of adding his name to the "deed" of the Hub. With that taken care of about a day later I could now leave whenever I wished. I decided to hitch a ride on the next ship coming down from Sinnoh to the far north past Orre. The region was at the top of the continent and ridiculously isolated. 'If I remember right Stone's got a branch of Devon there too which means he now has a hold over the northern part of the continent and the far south as well' I thought as I sat at the bottom of the pond at the Hub.-
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
It was rather funny now that I thought about it as clearly Stone was a better businessman that the Ceo of Sylph co that was located in Kanto and Johto. By comparison it was rather obvious that Sylph was probably going to get driven into a corner in the future as the only place it could expand to would be the wild zones and Rota. The kingdom would definitely repel any attempts on that front and the wild zones were even less likely to work out.-
The future of that company was bleak even if it continued to exist later. Devon was on the other hand poised to take over the business world on this main continent. I felt the water move around me as I thought about this matter and I opened my eye to see the Magikarp swimming around me curiously with the Mudkip. I smiled and scratched the fish on the head which it enjoyed immensely. I shifted and dispersed the sand as I stood up and kicked off the bottom to surface.-
"Are you sure you aren't a water type in disguise?" Silva asked nearby as he shamelessly took a berry for himself from one of my bushes. "I told you before it's just one of the many abilities I have, you really should give it a try. It's very peaceful down there." I said as I got out of the water and just let it evaporate naturally off my skin. "Don't know how to swim, never saw a point in learning to with the way the region is." he said with a shrug.-
"You really should learn, these ones love it when I play with them in the water and I doubt they'd treat you any differently. Besides you might need the exercise with how many berries you've been eating." I teased. He'd been staying at the Hub for three weeks now and was almost gluttonous in his consumption of the berries that grew in my garden. "I still get plenty of exercise and besides aren't you acting rather coldly not going to see those two off on their journey to Hoenn, they leave today after all?" he asked and I just shook my head with a smile.-
"They don't need to see this mug before they leave this place and raise all sorts of hell in the league, we'll meet again in the future I'm sure. Besides I'm going to be heading for Sinnoh in a week anyways so you'll lose this lovely privacy sandstorm that you've been enjoying so far." I said and he grimaced. "Alright I admit that it's nice having an impenetrable barrier of sand between me and the rest of the world. I hadn't realized just how much I enjoyed being left alone till I moved out here."-
"You did that shit to yourself helping everyone out as Duking's right hand man. That reminds me but how's that plan of his to convert the oasis into habitats going?" I asked curiously. "Thanks to Wes having a good selection of different species we only needed to import a few more of the same kinds to get a semi-stable ecosystem set up in the paradise oasis. It'll take a few years before the populations get bigger and stabilize fully and at least an extra decade after that to be able to open the oasis to the public for catching without ruining the populations." he said honestly.
