Chapter 77 — Damselflies And Dragonfly (4)

Damselflies And Dragonfly (4)

Phesx Caolia walked for a couple of minutes. He arrived at the stairs, where guards were watching, forming a line, with some small chairs by the walls in case they got too tired. It was one thing to do the job standing, and another to do the job tired and annoyed. Either way, Phesx walked up to them.

They didn’t shout at Phesx, waiting for him to come close to them. Phesx stopped before them and appreciated the silence, or lack of shouting. “I’m supposed to come here for the janitor’s job, but there’s a couple of… Daniel and Selena are having a moment.”

“The… kids in charge of cleaning?” The guards looked a bit confused until one of them spoke out. Phesx nodded. The guard waved it off, “They shouldn’t… take too long? Just wait until they are done and you can come again.”

“Uhh, no. Not that kind of moment…” Phesx tilted his head to the right, understanding the misunderstanding. He looked at them for a moment before trying to explain, “They are in a fight… between having a fight and not being in a fight… and they have the code. I can’t get the code from them unless they sort their things out, so I was wondering if one of you could come open the closet for me.”

“Oh… no, look. We can’t do that for you, kiddo. It’s either do the job as intended or we can’t let you continue up. No one here can leave, okay?” A guard explained. Phesx pouted before nodding. He bowed in understanding, “Okay, I’ll see to that.”

“There you go,” the guard nodded before seeing Phesx away from the distance.

Phesx’s face hardened as he walked back to the auxiliary staircase. He went down the stairs until the kitchens, finding the one he entered earlier before unceremoniously stepping in. Phesx looked around quickly but didn’t find the shortie from before.

“Hey, I got this for you. It was just half-eaten half before being ‘accepted’.” The young man Phesx spoke to before leaving brought him a plate with chicken and some vegetables. Phesx looked down at it before placing it on another stand.

“Thanks, but where is the short cook? The young woman who nearly cried?” Phesx asked, looking in a hurry. The young man didn’t waste him any time and opened his lips but refused to speak with them. Phesx frowned lightly, hearing the young man’s heartbeat quicken and grow heavy.

Phesx also heard another heartbeat slightly separated from the others, along with a missing heartbeat within the kitchen. It wasn’t that easy to hear, with all the cooking, some chatting, and yelling about, but it was noticeable to him.

“I’ll return soon. I have to pick some things from downstairs. I’ll be right back. If there’s more, that’ll be better. I could give some food to those upstairs.” Phesx said, tapping the young man’s right arm before heading out of the kitchen and towards the main stars.

The young man was left a little helpless to do nothing, but he shrugged and went back to cook with the rest. They would soon finish their turn and return home.

Phesx went down to the main floor. He took an elevator instead of going down the main stairs. He went to the resting area where most students had long left, but some things and luggage remained. After all, the students would have to change in the building and might need more sets of uniform or clothes.

Searching for a suitcase, Phesx grabbed 3 of them and went into a bathroom. He stepped into a booth and grabbed the thinnest suitcase first, leaving it opened as it was empty. The other 2 were opened next, mainly revealing firearm parts, and a medium pistol.

Phesx grabbed the firearm parts and put them at the side before hiding his medium pistol in his back where he hid a strap and small holster, just enough to hold a pistol. Then, he took some plastic bags below the parts before putting the firearm parts on the floor into the bags. He was meticulous when carefully placing them all inside the thin suitcase.

Then, Phesx grabbed all the comets, directly wearing 2 while keeping the rest in the bags along with all the pivots. He placed everything in the suitcase before putting a laptop on top after hiding the other things with an ornamental tablet from one of the other 2 suitcases.

At last, with the suitcase readied, Phesx returned to the resting area and put the suitcases back where they belonged, coming out of the bathroom with a large black plastic bag full of clothes. With only the thin suitcase in the other hand, Phesx walked out and up into another elevator.

He didn’t seem hurried or annoyed anymore.

When he returned to the same kitchen as before, Phesx took a look at the kitchen again. He heard the same separate heartbeat elsewhere. When he looked for the half a plate the young man left for him still on the stand, he went to pick it. Just then, he thought of something and looked at the coolroom; the one the shortie went to pick her incredible cake from before.

At the same time, the young man who everyone keeps asking him for advice happened to look at Phesx, noticing something was going, or could go, wrong. Seeing that face on the young boy, the young man wanted to sidestep and stop him, but he was too late.

Phesx walked into the coolroom after leaving his stuff behind. Everyone watched with fully open eyes, exchanging glances before staring at the closed door. On the other hand, Phesx entered the coolroom and welcomed the sight of at least a 10 meters long, 4 meters wide storage with few supplies. It has been a full day of servings, so it was only normal there were these few.

“…” Phesx looked at the bottom of the room, where an orange-haired short beauty crouched and held her left cheek, facing the wall on his right. He walked to her, whereas the young woman barely seemed to notice him.

“Get up,” Phesx called out. The shortie’s eyes widened as she struggled to stand up. Phesx arrived to her before she could. Helping her up, he asked her, “Did that chef force you here?”

She shook her head, “He said that since I didn’t throw the cake away, sniff- achoo! Then, I should stay with it to check it didn’t… melt.”

Phesx rolled his eyes. He picked her chin up and said, looking at her left cheek. “Did he also suffer an attack from your cheek? His right palm should be all swollen and purple.”

“Puchi…” The shortie emitted a little giggle, just once. Phesx shook his head, “It’s not for you to laugh. Come out and get warm, slowly. I have to do another thing first. Stay near the kitchens and have something to eat. From now on, you will obey me and not stop me, alright?”

“…?” The shortie looked at him, tilting her head to the left. She couldn’t possibly know what he meant, but she knew it wouldn’t be about taking advantage of her, somehow.

Phesx grabbed her right wrist and helped her out of the coolroom. He felt good inside, but it was not the time. Phesx was bathed by numerous glances. He looked at them before directly calling out. “Keep an eye on her and stop cooking. I’m really… actually getting annoyed.”

“You couldn’t even say a stupid thing when I came here, even though you saw her get mistreated more than once. Had she fainted and you forgotten where she was, I would’ve gotten angry. Do this one thing, stop working like the monkeys you are for a few minutes at least.”

“You,” Phesx looked at the shortie, whose shoulders were wrapped by a mantle brought by that brunette who did cry earlier. “Stay, behave, and use your nails if you don’t have the strength for once. That’s at least evidence.”

The shortie: (。ヘ°).

“Mn, prepare that cake. Do you think it will be good for a couple’s quarrel?” Phesx said to the shortie and took his plastic bag and thin suitcase with him out. Not caring about others anymore, just blurting, “I’m leaving!”

Walking up the auxiliary staircases, Phesx returned to that floor. He looked at the guards, who nodded at him after he ‘scaringly’ looked at them, igniting their instinctive need to support the young seeds of the next generation.

Then, Phesx went to the janitor room, where he saw the 2 lovebirds still in a fight with each other, facing opposite directions. He rolled his eyes and placed his suitcase beside the locker. When he dropped his bag, he slammed it against the floor.

“What the- huh?”

Slap! Phesx’s bag startled them, making both idiots look towards him. Selena’s eyes widened, while Daniel’s eyes contents constricted. Phesx’s hand slapped the crap out of his left cheek. Then, during his light daze, Daniel felt a hand grab his left wrist before spinning him to stand up.

There they were, man and man, looking at each other. Selena immediately stood up. Even though the danger was less, as Daniel was a straight man outright, which she confirmed many times, she still felt the danger. Selena began regretting her actions as she stood just a few steps behind her boyfriend, still her boy, not her ex.

When suddenly, that young boy closed in and, and… kissed her boyfriend!

Phesx gave deadly eyes at Daniel as his right index finger and thumb tips separated their faces more than a couple of inches. Phesx just had to tilt his head and bit the reverse of his own right hand with the right angle to fool a young woman like Selena.

“Noooooooo! Stop it!” Selena punched and punched Daniel’s upper back. Her eyes jumped some tears off as Daniel turned around. He had already understood the assignment as he licked his lips tons before turning. There she was, the most beautiful blondie in the world, in Daniel’s world, crying for him.

“Mmf, mwwaann nwamnlawml…” The next moment, Selena scooped all that ‘boy’s’ saliva out of her boy’s mouth, not caring about whom it came from. Without consent, Phesx was taken as homosexual, not even a possible bi, by the bitchy girl.

Phesx shook his head and was about to leave, when they went wild. Their kiss first started as cute and intimate as one could think. But then, it became sloppy and… handsy. In under 5 seconds, they were eating each other’s chins and going on expeditions around their mouths and inside their mouths.

Phesx exited the janitor room to let them sort their brains out, but then thought of something. He peeked through the door, about to close it, and asked them, “Are you guys hungry?”

“… …” The couple looked at each other. While Selena blushed a furious pink, Daniel had a huge grin on his face, the fuckboy. Phesx nodded and left them to it. He only heard kissing and corny confessions as he walked away, making him thank he was rather ‘mature’ with Pheli.

Phesx returned to the kitchen, this time, he wouldn’t let things go. Being nice was so bad everywhere anyone went, no matter where.

He could hear yelling before entering the kitchen from the auxiliary stairs. As soon as he entered, the chef’s obnoxious voice yelled at him. Thing had just started, but they were bad already. “Aha! So you were hiding all this time? Get your ass here! Weren’t you something earlier? Huh!?”

Phesx walked inside. The cooks had actually stopped cooking and congregated around a side. They looked at him, with the shortie remaining just in the middle, with a few standing before her, blocking the chef’s way to her. Phesx’s eyes didn’t change as he thought, walking forth. ‘That’s nice. They actually care. Is this the difference between those rich kids and them?’

Phesx walked up to the chef with his chin down, ignoring whatever the latter was saying. Then, he stopped and looked up at the chef. He spoke unbridled, not giving any importance to anything else for the moment, “Hey, there’s something you didn’t get. I’m a student, but so are they.”

“Say, would the news anchors care about a middle-aged fatass who isn’t even as attractive as an extra in one of their precious movies, or the students who suffered repression from an abusive ‘boss’? One that made them act with hatred and fear?”

“They’ll write…” Maybe Phesx felt artistic, as he put on a playful yet passionate expression and went, “Then, ‘they realized he was one, and they were many’.”

“Y- you’re crazy…!”

It wasn’t just the chef who felt weird and frowned, looking at Phesx, even the shortie did not want to get things that far. Yet, Phesx looked at the chef. From his head resting towards his right, slightly hanging, he tilted it forth and to the left. Phesx also grinned, just a bit. “Oh, really?”

Thud- slap! Step- whoosh.

Phesx lifted his left foot and pressed it on the chef’s right knee, pushing it aside, making the chef half-kneel in pain. His left knee was as weak as the other. Then, Phesx slapped his left cheek. It felt good slapping those…

When the chef became enraged and tried to stand up, which Phesx didn’t stop, he pushed the chef’s sternum. The chef staggered backwards, making wheels with his arms before someone else pushed him from the back. The chef fell on his stomach, and suddenly, the crowd went wild.

“Fucker!” - “¡Hora qué, puto!” - “Haha, he feels nice to kick around! It feels nice to kick him!”

Phesx dusted his hands as he stepped backwards. Some cooks looked at this, shocked. But since some were already at it, then might as well. Even the young man everyone looked upon in this kitchen joined the group beating.

When Phesx saw the shortie join in, using her nails in a claw stance, he nodded to himself and went out. He looked at a stand where the shortie’s cake was before cutting half, bringing it outside on a different plate.

On his way to the janitor room, Phesx met the same guards as before. Knowing they’d still be around for a few minutes, he walked to them and offered them a few spoons of cake each. They had a blast with a bit of sweet after days of dieting and drinking only during breaks or long before another shift.

When Phesx returned to the janitor room, there they were, the lovebirds. Daniel had Selena slightly dancing on his lap, facing each other as she straddled his thighs and caressed each other. When Phesx showed up with a cake, they stopped playing teenagers and started eating.

Phesx also hadn’t had food yet. After doing all that ruckus downstairs, someone was bound to find out and call the guards. But that wasn’t the reason Phesx did it, nor would it have ever been enough to distract a few guards when many hundreds were stationed inside.

Once his serving was eaten, Phesx left with the janitor’s tools. While Selena and Daniel, now with full stomachs, canoodled with their hands all over each other’s backs, he placed his thin suitcase in a modified compartment below the water in the wheeled bucket.

Phesx seemed to check everything as he added some more liquid soap before letting the mop’s head rest in. Then, he left the janitor’s room, at last. Phesx could hear slapping sounds even after a couple of hallways, making him cock his head in praise.

Phesx returned to the guards, who recognized him even with the new cap and full suit with just his chest slightly open, and the janitor cart. One of the guards stepped forth, placing his hand on Phesx’s right shoulder. “Young lad, you made it. Was it difficult?”

“Don’t walk near their room, now they’re having a moment. Can I pass now?” Phesx looked at the guard and voiced. The guard grinned before nodding, but another stepped in, saying as he bent down to look at the mop. “Hold on, what’s in here? Huh?”

Phesx’s eyes darted to the guard with helpless eyes. It was a mop, what else but water? He was about to show it to the guard’s face, when the guard beside him kicked the bucket just as the other guard opened the lid a bit, peeking inside.

Splash, splutter. The guard’s was shoved with water, followed by the other guards’ laughter. Phesx looked at the guard beside him with slight gratitude. The guard tapped his shoulder again. Meanwhile, the busybody guard had his eyes shut tight and his lips pursed. He had to spit out many times before getting rough-handed with the other guard.

Phesx saw that and felt they were quite rude to each other, but still so amicable in nature. Still in his thoughts, he was yelled at by another guard, “Come on, then! What are you waiting for? The cleaning is still in dire need. You’re late, too.”

Phesx nodded before pushing the cart forward. The guards were talking with each other, feeling in a better mood. Passing by them made him feel a little secure, and almost at ease. Phesx relaxed as he went up the stairs. He pushed a button before the cart locked itself. A guard asked if he needed help, but Phesx showed off as he said nothing and slowly brought the cart up step by step.

Phesx checked in with the other guards on the upper floor to get to work. He first cleaned a hallway that almost everyone in the area could see him sweeping and mopping before entering a bathroom. He left the cart outside, against a wall.

As soon as Phesx entered, he walked under some cameras and used his comets to directly cut off the infrastructure behind the walls. He dropped his janitor full suit and grabbed the bucket. He opened its safety lids before taking off the lid hiding his firearm parts and bions. In less than a minute, Phesx assembled his rifle, submachine gun, and started filling his magazines.

He was slow, concise, and smooth.

When he was done, Phesx hung their straps around his shoulders before standing in front of the mirror. He hopped onto the wide bathroom sink and carefully took the mirror off. After placing it down, leaning against another wall, he returned to the bathroom sink and took the wall’s tiles off one by one. Like this, a few minutes passed.

When the wall had a tileless fraction, he used his right comet to carve an opening of the same perimeter. Phesx had to be slow, even though the blades were sharp enough to penetrate any vest that wasn’t top quality when being shot forward.

Phesx carefully took the frame down as well, leaving it below the bathroom sink before going through the square-shaped hole. Inside was the infrastructure of the building. It was only a small rectangular space that only went higher and higher.

One had to be careful when climbing through these places, as they weren’t all connected. Phesx had to go into other rooms after reaching the top of this ‘cave’ section, and so on. It was a hurdle to get to the top, but he had to.

“Sigh…” Phesx shook his head a little before beginning his first step to climb up.

. . .

More than an hour later, further below, at the building’s entrance, the same students from a few hours ago were guarding the entrance. Most heard music with earphones and bobbed their heads, others gestured while walking slightly around like, rappers. Others just took videos or photos, chatting with some people.

“Goodnight~,” the bouncer-like students bid farewell to some of their knowns. At this very moment, a female student walked to the guy Phesx spoke to, and who ‘confirmed’ his identity in the building’s helpers system and app for the corresponding job.

“Hey, excuse me. Do you know that guy who was moving around? I heard he had started a fight in a kitchen. I only met him in the reception area of the 1st floor.” Said the female student. The bouncer looked at her and said, “Uhh, no? But do you want me to look for someone’s info for? It’s cool, you’ll have to find an excuse to knowing his stuff without asking, though. I won’t help.”

“It’s fine. The one with white little strands of hair in the middle, know him?” The female student nodded before confirming they were talking of the same person. The bouncer nodded upwards after his eyes became a little dull, gone upturned. “Yeah, yeah. Just let me check.”

“Hey, are you already flirting with others? I thought you were taken, bro.” Another bouncer-student walked towards them and shook hands with the other fella. “Nah, it’s for that guy from earlier. She’s just aski- ah, shit. Sorry, I blacked my phone out. A sec… what?”

The bouncer realized his phone was locked after a series of movements. He unlocked it and checked the information again, with the system keeping that data copied for cases like these. However, when he searched again and was about to show it to the female student, he frowned hard.

“What is it?” She asked, feeling strange at the sudden attitude change. “That… is not him, right?”

“Yo, did he look like this?” The bouncer asked his colleague after showing a random image of a chubby young man with strong brown curly hair. The female student jolted her neck backwards, while the bouncer showed his friend the image, to which the latter shook his head. “Nah, no way.”

… A few minutes earlier, a female student walked towards the secretary’s ‘office’ in the first upper floor. It was soon 1 AM, so the students had to leave, but most remained around the building to spend time while their transport arrived.

She wanted to remind the secretary. Thus, the female student opened the door and walked inside, “Sir? Are you too busy working? We students should leave now, sir. Hmm? Are you awake? Are you sleepin- GWAHAAAAAAAAHHH!”

A minute later, a hysterical, crying her body out, shrilling female student ran away while holding her head. She looked like she wanted to nail her fingertips into her brain from the sides as she ran faster than she never thought she was capable of.

When coming down the stairs, she attracted many people’s attentions. The bouncer and the female student looked at her from the moment she screamed and showed up atop the stairs until she ran past them. Everyone looked at her. Then, she was almost run over, if it wasn’t for a tall student who stopped and also turned around, catching her waist with a few spins following right after to deal with the inertia.

“What the hell is happening?” The bouncer asked out loud, feeling a sense of danger creep onto him. Just then, a guard rushed down before running to them. The bouncer loudly asked, “What’s happening? Is she okay? Was it drugs?”

“Okay, listen guys,” the guard ignored the bouncer and others’ questions. With a stern, sweating expression, he elaborated before ordering them, “There’s been an assassination. The secretary Iván was found without his head on his desktop. We’re evacuating everyone. Now, go ahead and contact everyone you can, tell them to get out!”

“Oh shit! Wait… the vice president is still up there, right?” A bouncer-student suddenly said, feeling his whole body tremble and cold, with his pores shivering. The guard widened his eyes also, but he said, trying to keep a straight face. “She’s fine. We’ve contacted her not too long ago. You take care of each other, alright? Go on! Leave!”
