Chapter 17 — Ambitions

Ambitions

3 days later.

In the same tent where Phesx Caolia had been nursed, and hurt like hell, he sat on his stretcher. At the side, Sofia checked his stomach, watching how a bunch of rosy hole injuries no longer worsened and began a full-on healing. Of course, it had only just begun, but it was stagnant. The young boy needed nutrients, more than what she was able to feed him during his weakened period.

“How do you feel?” Sofia tapped his stomach, with a screen-like device on top of it, making sounds on his torso. There were also some under his clothes at his thighs and further around his neck. Phesx Caolia sat up and spoke with slightly dazed eyes.

“You know the feeling of suddenly getting sick and spending 3-4 days a little somnolent? Mn, I feel just like that. I think I remember something like that.” Phesx Caolia passed saliva down his throat, feeling the pain of every wound and healing bone in his body.

Before, he might’ve been fine and threw up without feeling much torment, other than his thorax contracting and his spine trembling. However, after vomiting, the ‘adrenaline’ left him, letting him welcome the suffering his body had gone through.

Sofia nodded, checking the vitals’ scanner under his body on the stretcher’s modded equipment side. She went back to her computer while Phesx Caolia slowly stepped down the stretcher. He felt like little ants were nibbling on his raw muscle all over his body at all times, but he grew used to it after a few days. He briefly glanced at Sofia’s monitor.

Although he wasn’t a science little fella, he did understand the theories and implications Sofia talked to him about. However, he felt no different. Leaving his nails and teeth’s change outside of her knowledge, still not sure if those were real, Phesx Caolia didn’t feel anything different within him. If he had become a hero with a superpower, he would’ve goddamn known.

“Oh, right. I need something of you to make more tests,” Sofia said as Phesx Caolia wore a new blank, military shirt. Phesx Caolia stopped for a moment and thought, before opening his eyes wide. “You won’t take anything from my marrow, will you?”

“…” Sofia slowly turned around, looking a bit creepy. She gazed at the young boy with a playful pair of eyes but serious expression. “Not yet. All you have to do is find a… ‘kitten’, with a certain condition, and inseminate her.”

“…” Phesx Caolia’s light black eyes seemed stuck, glued at Sofia’s face. She looked up at him, still sitting on her chair, and tilted her head to the right. ‘Was I too direct? Oh. Was it my choice of words? Still young, I see…’

“What is needed for you to do is just find a girl with a ‘broken’ uterus and have the usual intercourse, nothing changes. Make sure she stays… let’s say, ‘loyal’ to you, for the experiment’s purpose. I’ll talk with some officers for that matter. Is that clear?” Sofia patiently elaborated.

“Oh,” Phesx Caolia nodded, making a silly face. But then, he frowned a little and hinted a smile that wasn’t a smile. “Broken?”

“Ah… sorry.” Sofia looked at Phesx Caolia, nodding, before realizing. She gently apologized before changing her words. “Someone with a damaged uterus. This is the list of what you should find around the household. It’s best if you only engage in it after recuperating.”

“Okay. Will you need direct examples of sperm?” Phesx Caolia took a paper sheet from Sofia’s hand before thinking of certain sci-fi movies. He tilted his head to the right and asked. Sofia opened her mouth, before becoming paralyzed.

“Actually, is fine as long as that girl is sent here.” Sofia said, giving up. Phesx Caolia fell silent, too. He thought, ‘I have a feeling I shouldn’t have asked that. Hmm…’

“Okay, I’ll leave now.” Phesx Caolia turned around, unable to wait for an escape. Sofia reminded him, “Every day, before anything else in the morning, come here. Remember it, okay!?”

“Yep!” Phesx Caolia fled from the tent. Left behind, Sofia’s face blushed a little. Even though she helped treat her family members’ children in the past, none of them were past 10 years old before the civil war broke out. Also, she was just a doctor, and such analysis would be handled to apprentices or nurses. Never had she asked a person for something similar.

Phesx Caolia ran for several seconds before feeling the pull from his body’s condition. He stopped, even holding himself up with his palms on his knees. Gasping and feeling his throat uncomfortable with phlegm, he drank saliva or forced some out before walking again.

“Kit!” Phesx Caolia turned around, only to feel Priscila’s body against him as she hugged him. She was careful not to hurt him, maybe because of the many times Paul and the others wanted to see him. Sofia wouldn’t let anyone know of his strangeness, even if they suspected it. Phesx Caolia wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Hi. By the way, I need your help with something. Don’t ask too much, just know that I will do exactly what you think I will be doing.” Phesx Caolia said after hugging the beauty for a few moments. Some soldiers and new recruits looked at them.

However, Phesx Caolia somehow knew it wasn’t because of their intimacy outside the kitten household. Why? Because they were all looking at his face… After staring at someone’s ass and thighs, of course.

“Mmmw! Why?” Priscila separated her head from his neck and smooched his lips strongly for 2 seconds before asking. Phesx Caolia blinked twice at the beauty’s crazy love talk before passing her a paper sheet. Priscila read it as Phesx Caolia spoke, “If you know anyone with any of these, prepare her for me. Oh, tell her that if she accepts to participate in an experiment, she’ll only have to see me.”

“Mmm…” Priscila read through the list and frowned. However, she smiled towards the end and nodded before staring at him. “I know just the person. I’ll bring her to you… when you recuperate. Okay, with that out of the way, can we go? I was just passing by, but Paul is dying to know when you’re getting better.”

“Mn,” Phesx Caolia nodded and exclaimed. He placed his arm behind her back as she guided him away. Although he didn’t need a support, with his dizzy eyes and groggy mind, he required someone to guide him through long distances.

A few minutes later, they arrived at an administration facility, which was mostly empty. Priscila walked to Paul, who was just walking outside, and shocked him with Phesx Caolia’s appearance.

“You’re better now?” Paul asked, holding himself from squeezing the young boy’s shoulders. Phesx Caolia nodded before gesturing to the clipboard Paul had in his hands, “Going out soon?”

“Yeah. I’m somewhat close to promoting, thanks to that finding you got the other night.” Paul teased, smiling at the end, and feeling proud. Phesx Caolia remembered something and tapped Priscila’s bare skin on her back before being left to stand on his own. “About that mutated thing, what happened to it?”

“Oh, hahaha.” Paul laughed, making Phesx annoyed. Paul formed a long silence, only to tease him in the end, “We’ll talk about it later. Hey, Priscila, can you leave us men to talk? It’s things little girls won’t want to hear.”

Priscila humorously rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. She turned to Phesx, planted a hot kiss on his lips, tasting his mouth, and left after pinching his cheeks. It hurt, but nothing like the pain he was feeling around his torso and right thigh.

“Ugh,” Paul made a ‘disgusted’ expression with crossed arms before walking to a nearby mini-diner zone. It was usually used for the workers here, so they could have their meal without walking far away. They also had their respective bathrooms nearby.

When they arrived at it, Phesx Caolia felt tired and nearly slumped on the bench, while Paul sat on the edge of the table. It was all wooden, but it felt too tough and painful to sit on, at least for the current Phesx Caolia. He ignored the countless wired sensations around his body and looked up, “So, what did you want to talk about?”

“Thank you,” Paul simply laid it out. He looked at Phesx with a helpless and also disappointed expression, but his words were honest. Phesx Caolia looked up and waited for Paul to continue, which he did. “I don’t know how, and what was it like, but I understand. Things I could never do, I always thought about them. Maybe I’m just- my nature… is too kindhearted deep inside.”

“Em always put himself in that position for me before, but now you… Look, I won’t blame you. And… I will trust you aren’t a deviant wanting to use random purposes to let the beast out. Doing that for her sake, it’s good. Remember that.” Paul struggled to speak up to here, showing how much it conflicted with himself.

Phesx Caolia’s light black eyes looked at Paul for a few seconds in silence before responding, becoming more casual, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“…” Paul just smiled and said no more words. Phesx Caolia lowered his head, feeling a little tired. Then, thinking of something, he looked up and innocently asked. “How do I make my aim better?”

“…What do you mean?” Paul replied after a few confused seconds. Phesx Caolia tilted his head a little to the left and asked again in a soft voice, “I aimed knives at shoulders, but they hit knees.”

“Sigh…” Paul lifted his left hand and rubbed his eyes with his thumb and index finger. “Okay, so, were the handles held by something? Ropes? Chain? Heavy weights?”

“…” Phesx Caolia wore a dumbfounded expression before just nodding. Paul looked up, rolling his eyes from the left to the right, and vice versa, helpless. “Okay, first. If it’s tied to something, or has just a bit more of weight, it will obviously change. You were lucky they didn’t drop sooner, or flew sideways…”

Paul chided the young boy while teaching him. Phesx Caolia took many mental notes before Paul stood up and unceremoniously helped him up, placing Phesx’s right arm above his neck. Then, he said, before teasing, “Let’s go. The hero hasn’t taken his trophy yet. Come, my princess!”

Paul lifted Phesx Caolia into his arms, holding him like a princess, before jogging away. Phesx Caolia pedaled at first, refusing to be ‘degraded’. In the end, feeling too comfy and with his drowsiness disappearing a little, he gave up.

“Not bad, not bad.” Phesx Caolia commented when they were near the central building, with 3 floors, the tallest in the encampment that wasn’t a broken building. Paul shook his head, not even sweating, but complained. “You’ll be the death of me.”

Then, Paul helped Phesx in, letting him put his feet down to be checked by a few guards. Soon after, they were called to the commander’s office.

“Welcome, Paul and Phesx.” In the commander’s office, an overweight man gestured to the seats in front of his desk. The two bowed before politely sitting. The commander looked at Paul first, “Thank you for bringing him here, heh heh. It’s a fortune almost everyone made it out alive.”

“Yes, sir.” Paul nodded. Then, the commander looked at Phesx. He seemed to think of a few things, seen by Phesx on the former’s eyes, before voicing. “It’s good you are recuperating. Let’s hope those skin partitions will work magic. Any more medicament is too costly. Having you scout around the encampment has proven fortuitous. Any news when you might recover?”

“2 to 3 months, sir.” Phesx Caolia responded. The commander nodded. “Will you work at the workshop again in the meantime, private?”

“Yes, sir. Until I can return to the outside.” Phesx Caolia nodded. The commander responded in kind before smiling, “Heh heh. That’s good. You better return and get a good mentality. That helps the body. What better than being promoted to 1st class? Congratulations, soldier.”

“…” Phesx Caolia was startled. However, considering he did participate in 2 successful tasks, and the first he was the one to do most of the job, it felt nice. He stood up and saluted, at his pace. “Thank you, sir commander!”

“Mn, mn. Go rest, then. Paul, make sure this little guy doesn’t sneak out or something.” The commander nodded twice before ordering Paul. He stood up and saluted before helping Phesx Caolia outside the room with a careful hold of his body.

The commander shook his head and chuckled a little more, clearly contented. Meanwhile, Phesx Caolia chatted with Paul while getting out.

“What was all this about? Was something new found out from the mutant?” Phesx Caolia asked. Paul nodded, helping him by holding the young boy’s arm around his neck. “At first, it was just testing, but it was your doctor Sofia who found out about the toxicity in the water it lived.”

“…!” Surprised, Phesx Caolia lifted his eyebrows as Paul continued, “Not only that, all the water we’ve been drinking is toxic. The systems can’t catch that, and only ‘manual’ research proved the water and air’s toxicity. We’ve literally lived for who knew how long with the air like this! Can you believe it?”

“Is that why we’re always having plagues? It’s all of Preut fucked up?” Phesx Caolia asked, quite distressed. Paul simply laid out his words. “No. On the contrary, it is because of the toxicity that few make it into our livelihoods. Furthermore, when we drink it, it doesn’t harm us. It’s…”

“Like adaptation,” Phesx Caolia’s eyes trailed off before complementing Paul’s words. The latter nodded and reaffirmed it. “Yes, we, our bodies have adapted to it. It’s not harmful to us. That’s stupid, don’t ya think?”

“Mhm…” Phesx Caolia nodded, feeling tired. Noticing this, and missing other little parts, Paul smiled, deciding to bring him back to his bed. It was just morning, but anyone who saw his injuries could tell what it would feel like after surviving them.

‘He didn’t know about them? How? Isn’t he always with her? Even more these last few days…’ Paul thought, but he paid it no more mind and brought the disabled young boy away.

. . .

15 days later. At the military zone’s workshops.

Pzzzzzzt!

Phesx Caolia worked on a large cannon’s barrel, repairing the several places where it looked like it could fall off in the past, but only needed a few touches now. Besides that, Phesx Caolia wasn’t even wearing glasses. He looked at the thing while sparks came out of the blowtorch, going all out on the metal composition before him.

Every now and then, he’d draw his head back or sideways slowly and with the world’s calmness, before the sparks seemed to suddenly increase and would’ve reached him if he hadn’t moved. At this moment, muffled sounds came from the outside.

“Hm?” Phesx Caolia turned around and stopped the blowtorch in time to look at Priscila walk towards the workshop with a pale beauty beside her. Priscila waved and shouted towards him. When she saw him stop, she smiled and pushed the beauty before her, rushing into the workshop.

“Hey! Look who it is? The lady you’ve been waiting for all your life!” Priscila shouted, making the pale beauty blush. She had white pale skin, short black hair, a cute small nose, and thick, naturally separated locks of hair at her forehead.

Phesx Caolia was disinterested, but when he looked at this pale beauty, he stood up with widened eyes. “Isn’t this the kitten Em likes to visit the most?”

He tilted his head to the right, looking at the pale beauty’s face. Priscila nodded before formally introducing them to each other. “Lisa, this is your experiment partner. Kitty, this is your whore!”

“Pfut!” Phesx threw air out of his mouth like a fart, not expecting that. Meanwhile, Lisa blushed deeply and slapped Priscila’s left shoulder. “Priscilaaaa! I told you. Don’t call me those things outside of bed.”

Priscilla ignored her and winked at Phesx Caolia with her right eye. With that, she brought the two to the back of the workshop, not caring if there was someone there. Although there was the kitten household, sexual activity was prohibited within soldiers in the military zone.

Of course, none of that impeded Phesx Caolia from randomly meeting Priscila or Fernanda, receiving more from them than having mutual pleasure, a paradise for many. Phesx Caolia thought this happened to everyone, but it was only his young ass that gained this much attention, among a few others.

The room at the back was empty. Priscila rapidly undressed, with Lisa following suit. Then, they helped Phesx Caolia to lay down on his back while taking his clothes off. Needless to say, with Lisa’s sudden proactivity, different from before, Phesx Caolia was rapidly engulfed in throes of pleasure.

Knowing dirty talk went with Lisa, Phesx Caolia accidentally made her too horny. On the other hand, he witnessed his first trio, and Priscila’s dominance over other women during the act. It was a brand-new paradise, which Phesx Caolia barely knew about. In no time, the pale beauty’s slender legs were held together and up as the first round of ‘experiments’ went on.

Youth could be so vivid…

. . .

Soon, a month and a half went by since the mutant was discovered. It was the 1,021st year, 5th month, 3rd week and 3rd day.

Phesx Caolia was confirmed a task at the second half of the week. He could go out, albeit with a shadow to take care of him, instead of habitually protecting him. With such good news, he deserved a reward. Being as young as they were, and ignoring the fact Phesx was younger than them for whatever reason, Paul and the others planned something big for him.

It was barely the night, when Priscila, Lisa, and Fernanda were asked to give Phesx Caolia the time of his life. They had to go to a random cottage in the kitten household. However, what they didn’t know was that Phesx Caolia was going through testing another kitten.

Creamy white skin, with freckles adorning her face and luscious, long black hair swung back and forth as Phesx Caolia rocked the mattress. Maybe he couldn’t forcefully move, but he definitely could move nonstop for a long time. With their previous experiences, it was clear he had been at it for about an hour. The kitten was also as spent as they would be.

When they saw her pitch-black eyes and long eyelashes, they realized it was Brittany, the other kitten whose actual cottage is around the kitten supreme’s cottage. Either way, knowing what to do, they showed Phesx Caolia brand-new worlds… Maybe not in the actuality, but in the future, Phesx Caolia would marvel in the sensation of 4 people joining ‘heads’ and doing the unthinkable. These days were definitely crazy.

There was this embarrassing day when Lisa and Phesx Caolia went to Sofia’s office, and they thought she wasn’t there. Thus, remembering how Lisa’s legs, slender and small, coiled or relaxed, look when placed together, Phesx Caolia’s mind traveled. Holding them felt so good… Thus, being a raging teenager, Phesx Caolia did the unthinkable in Sofia’s office.

At the side, hidden by some blinds, Sofia moved her head to where the sounds came from, baffled and scarred. Phesx Caolia heard her gasp and momentarily stopped, but it was too late.

He simply went on and on, becoming more beastly to Lisa’s pleasure, perhaps. Besides, even if he wanted to, with how deliciously her moans sounded, Phesx Caolia was a teenager slave to his primitive thoughts and pleasure, and couldn’t stop.

But… life was all about learning… from mistakes or not.

At last, the day had come, and Phesx Caolia could now leave the camp. He would have to move slow, and couldn’t immediately retreat if necessary. This time, on his third mission, they would venture towards the western half of the worker districts’ utmost west.

During these few weeks, the encampment has sighted a good deal of scum moving west and north of their encampment. To stop their effortless moving, the commander has started sending ‘cleaning missions’ to make a safe route towards the road leading to them up north, from the rich residential districts.

They left in the early morning, at 4:22 AM. Phesx Caolia boarded a truck and was put under Paul’s command in his team. However, Em was on another truck, leading a team of his own, with that León guy in it. They drove for a little more than an hour and twenty minutes before stopping.

Phesx Caolia could see the field filled on the left, and a small piece of the road ahead leading from the rich residential districts to the worker districts, several kilometers from where the truck stopped. It was the only road leading to the western half worker districts and vice versa, with the helitaxi services once upon a time making their living from it, moving people back and forth. Reserves were damn costly. Always making Phesx Caolia wonder how his ‘family’ afforded it back then.

To act fast, more or less knowing the criminals’ hideouts, every soldier moved via hand signs and radio communications, not uttering a word. Phesx Caolia was the first to step down of the truck, forming a semi-line that protected Paul and the driver as they came out.

After an initial scout around their parking zone, he stared at a distant León, who seemed finally at ease. Lately, the guy had been seen annoyed, ever since the mutant was found out, and the encampment’s ideas to check the northwest of the western half worker districts were delayed.
