Speed And Agility (4)

“Oaaaaah! I can't see- I can't see anymore! Heeelp Haaaaghh!” - “Someone go grab Dany already! He's fucking nuts- agh, my eyes!” - “We are in fucking danger, retards! Get it together, argh!” - “Shut the fuck up, Dany! Shut up!!” - “AAAAAH! Please help, help, heeeelp!” - “SHUT THE FUCK UUUP!” - “The others are coming, hold o-” - “I ca-a-an't! Bwaaaaah!” - “I'll fucking shoot you if you don't fucking stop! Pendejo de mierda!”

Hellcat watched from a hidden spot as they went on, slowly growing reckless and irritated with each other. ‘The preis I had met were like them, organized, but they were at least disciplined. These only look trained a bit…’

Hellcat narrowed his light black, dull, indifferent eyes as he kept a pose with his rifle aiming at them on another trailer’s front, waiting for the exact moment. When he found it, his eyes lighted up a little, and his breathing stopped. He aimed at the blinded young man, or boy, and fired.

“No! Don’t you dare shoot him! Stop it!” - “HEH HEH! Watch me!” - “Enough! Try doing that and you’ll be next, cabrón!” - “Are you fucking serious?! He’s just useless-” - “Try me then! Try me!!”

Bang! “… … …” There was silence. The enemies looked at each other before facing the one who threatened Dany first. They stared at him, but the man only felt wronged. He trembled and sweated, barely forming a thought of realization. “No, you see-”

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang…

“…” Hellcat was about to shoot again, when he saw the scene before him unfold. Before he could kill his enemies, they started killing the life out of each other, entering confusion before anyone knew it, but still engrossed in it even after recognizing their mistake in silence.

‘How predictable.’ For the first time in his life, Phesx Caolia looked at something so… ‘alive’ without feeling any bit of emotions and reactions he… absorbed from others. 4 seconds later, the infighting stopped, with the other 2 squads rushing here.

Hellcat finished off 3 enemies writhing on the ground with his rifle, making the squads coming here startled, thinking they were being targeted before realizing they were not and resumed their push. Meanwhile, the leader of the squad, easily identified by Hellcat, felt despair as his last comrades died around him, but he had to press on his neck’s wounds.

“You know, 2 bullets to the neck and still moving… You are lucky. I guess you’re an adult, and these are all growing still… You are no military people.” Hellcat softly spoke at the leader before aiming his small pistol at the head.

“No, wait…” The leader spoke softly, a white, slightly overweight woman whose helmet went off at the cost of bleeding a bit more. Hellcat paused, giving her weakened eyes light. “Pleeease, there should be a way to let me live. We can talk, and I’ll surrender. Can you let m-”

Bang! A head was burst open, leaving a portion of it looking inhumane, with a part of the brain bouncing within the crushed skull, and spilling out as it hit the ground. Hellcat looked back, calmly and indifferently, before crouching and walking away at a regular pace.

“Over here!” - “No mames!” - “Check the area!” - “No need, he’s there!” - “Over here, sir!”

As soon as the enemies arrived near, they started delegating orders, somehow. Hellcat was hiding near a wide car, when a female, young voice sounded, yelling towards him. He didn’t look back to know it was one of the enemies checking everywhere around each other like their lives depended on it.

‘Grr.’ Hellcat picked his rifle up on his right arm, beside the strapped submachine gun, and rushed about between the vehicles. Several gunshots went his way as he heard footsteps disperse and trying to net-surround him. Their sound crashing on the cars numbed his scalp.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Trrrr rrrrrrr rrrrrrrr rrrrrrrr rrrrrrr…

“Look for him!” - “Find him!” The 2 enemy squad leaders commanded before they separated. Of course, they didn’t go paths away, simply choosing different paths through the vehicles, not following each other carelessly. Some had their pistols out, with 2 flashlights, 1 aiming ahead and the other below.

“Fuu, fuuu…” Hellcat lightly breathed out before accommodating his rifle between the lower end of a fallen bike’s seat and its steering wheel. He held it with his left hand while accommodating his torso beside the frontal wheel. Preparing his right arm to aim at whoever came running towards him. Then, when an enemy walked between 2 large trucks, he pulled the rifle’s trigger.

Bang… There was silence again, accompanied by the sounds of someone struggling to walk, support themselves on one of the trucks, and finally fall down with no further movement.

“Around here! Gwen is down! Her head- shit!” Hellcat heard before numerous footsteps moved around him. His eyes widened as 2 enemies showed around the corner, where he aimed with his submachine gun. He immediately fired, but only scared them, forcing them to take cover.

‘Too far away!’ Hellcat fiercely frowned, gritting his canines harshly before standing up. He dropped a grenade beside the bike before feigning retreat. The enemy who shouted rushed after him after seemingly communicating with those 2 Phesx Hellcat scared.

Bang- boom… When he jumped over the bike, as expected, Hellcat, who was aiming prone behind a car, shot the grenade 16 meters away. The enemy’s torso and groins disappeared, leaving only his legs and part of his arms and neck falling from the air. The head seemed to implode from the shockwave flow, but the helmet was okay.

Hellcat stood up and turned around, but just then, a tall, slightly bulky man without helmet approached him from behind. A knife cleaved towards his left shoulder. Hellcat’s eyes widened beneath his helmet before using his helmet to stop the man’s strike. He succeeded, but the man grabbed his helmet and forced Hellcat into a lock where Hellcat couldn’t free himself.

Hellcat brought his joint fingertips to slice the man’s right armpit, but just then, the man’s left hand moved like a snake before pushing against Hellcat’s stomach on the left side. Then, it fired the pistol it held, instantly breaking apart the thick armor covering Hellcat’s ribs, nearly getting to his heart. It happened too fast.

“Blarghh!” Phesx Caolia jolted his body upwards, just a little. The man grinned before lifting his aim. Hellcat lifted his helmet just a bit, feeling like vomiting, just like when he brawled the mutant. The only difference being… he now knew what he was capable of.

While the man tried to shoot Hellcat’s heart next, feeling how weaker the soldier’s body became, Hellcat opened his jaws and lunged at that arm’s nook. Immediately, the man’s eyes widened, his hand dropped the pistol, and Phesx Caolia munched on flesh, broken bones, and blood.

“!” - “!” The man looked with fear into the light black eyes, barely visible behind the helmet’s visor. Phesx Caolia looked at the man, feral and infuriated, with insanely frowning eyes and scrunched nose. Hellcat ignored the pain from the man’s arm’s bones stabbing his mouth as he turned his head.

Pfsht. When the man seemed about to scream for help, Phesx Caolia’s left hand stabbed his under chin, stunning the man when he felt fingers drill into his tongue and mouth. Phesx Caolia gained enlightenment as he thrashed his fingers about, destroying the man’s tongue as his eyes rolled backwards. But he was still conscious.

Cajj cajj cajj, kggh- tear~~, crgsshh!

Hellcat let go of the man’s under chin before moving those claws, spreading before clawing at the man’s torso. The armor barely lasted before all that remained was flesh and blood, all turned into a mess. Even his bones looked like clay before Hellcat sobered up.

Looking at the lifeless, played corpse on the ground, Phesx Caolia breathed heavily for a few seconds before picking his rifle up with bloody hands, lowering his presence. After he walked away, other enemies arrived and saw the corpse, growing terrified.

However, Phesx Caolia didn’t even reach 10 seconds hidden, when he felt several flashlights aim at his body. “There he is!” - “Get him!!”

Bang bang bang- trrrrrrr rrrrrrrr! They didn’t waste time and opened fire at Hellcat, forcing him into more tight places as they chased him, but he disappeared from their eyesight, as did their gunshots. Hellcat crouched but moved faster than them.

Finding a person who was searching for him from the back, Hellcat looked at his victim’s nape, crouching towards them until he was 8 meters before them. Then, he pulled the trigger and rushed towards the falling corpse. Bang-… thud- booom!

“What the hell was that…?” One of the remaining squad leaders turned around after seeing the chained explosion of grenades nearly 100 meters behind him. More and more enemies congregated around the area, shrinking their searching zone.

Feeling more danger, Phesx Caolia stood up a little, but still remained crouched. He momentarily ignored his submachine gun, aiming high with his rifle. Like this, he snaked through the vehicles as he chased, avoided, and cut tails from the enemy.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Turning around corners, looking below vehicles and seeing feet, any time Phesx Caolia saw someone ready to be shot at, he pulled the trigger. Bang, bang, bang, bang!

“!” The enemy grew restless as they heard more and more gunshots near but far from them. At first, they were far away, but now that they shrunk their searching circle, and received fewer reports from comrades, they felt their bodies begin hyperventilating. Fear and aberration was forming deep within.

Little by little, as they could see each other from across small distances, they also caught sight of Hellcat’s moving body. But it was too fast for them, physically tired and mentally drained. When one chased a butt and bent back moving past them, a few tens of seconds later, believing they were close to catching him, another gunshot and grenades explosion would prove them otherwise.

“To hell with this!!” When only 3 enemies remained, from a number Phesx Caolia wasn’t aware of even now, a person shouted before rushing out of the area below the bridge. The other 2 were left speechless, one was a young woman, and the other the last squad leader.

“Hey, come back here! Nobody will believe whatever the whores you sa-” The squad leader became enraged and shouted, feeling their enemy was soon to find his limit. Even if 60 of their lives was the cost, it would be a glorious feat of killing the enemy’s greatest talents. But then, he felt a presence behind him. Maybe it was luck, but it was also too late.

Before the enemy squad leader could physically react, Hellcat placed his left hand around his neck, already piercing his neck, while supporting his rifle on the enemy’s right shoulder. Hellcat aimed at the young woman who hadn’t noticed while breathlessly muttering to his helmet, “Do it now.”

Prrrr trrtrtrrrrtrtrtrrrrrr!

The machine gun atop the platform suddenly sounded. The enemy who was fleeing stopped and threw himself to the ground, scared for his life. Meanwhile, the squad leader Hellcat held shouted at the young woman, while the fleeing enemy seemed to notice something. “Behind you, he’s right behind me!!”

Bang!

The man’s voice was grotesque, shouting through Hellcat’s fingers, which vibrated at the motion. But Hellcat still shot the young woman. Unfortunately, his blurry sight and weakness ruined the shot, with the bullet passing by the young woman’s helmet on the left.

Bang bang bang bang!!- Trrr!

She stumbled but picked herself up as Phesx Caolia squeezed harder. Yet, after so much, his grip was too loose. The man separated himself from Hellcat, gaining an even worse injury. He took his pistol out, a medium type, and fired it. But even as Phesx Caolia fell just behind him, the man’s aim was focused on the ceiling. He could barely even move his limbs, let alone think well.

As the gunshots landed on the bridge underside, Phesx Caolia locked the man’s neck with his arms and used his legs to attempt locking the man’s arms. Just then, the young woman aimed her submachine gun at them before opening fire.

Phesx Caolia silently groaned. A bullet hit his neck somewhere. He couldn’t tell where, but the sensation was obvious, and just present. It was clear she didn’t want to harm the squad leader, as she let the recoil go all-out before throwing her weapon away.

While she rushed towards them, the dizzy man freed himself before Phesx Caolia’s legs could lock his arms. He stood up and made a grabbing motion with his left hand at Phesx Caolia, but the pistol was on the floor. Phesx Caolia agonized over the pain before kicking at the man’s left knee with the tip of his left boot.

The man sidestepped at the last moment, with the young woman taking his place, who got hit on her right thigh. She rolled over in the air, headbutting Phesx Caolia’s stomach with the top of her head. With flash reaction speed, he used this momentum to roll backwards, standing up and holding the young woman from behind, just as he did to the man before.

The man had long picked up his pistol and checked its magazine ammunition before aiming it at Hellcat. Blurry-eyed, he noticed the current predicament, but that only made him pause for a second. They were just 4 meters away from each other, with Phesx Caolia lowering his hand to his small pistol, when the man shot thrice.

Trr- rrr- rrrr… In the distance, gunfire sounded, making Phesx Caolia frown a squint. However, the next second, he felt his solar plexus and right hip shot at. Bang bang bang!!

As loud as the shots that went to the ceiling had been, 3 bullets hit the woman at her chest and pelvis, with the last one at the head. On the other hand, Phesx Caolia was only hit twice, but both penetrated his thick armor. Thankfully, because of his half-victim’s thick armor as well, he didn’t suffer much, although the bullet remained inside.

‘Well, I expected it.’ Phesx Caolia coughed, holding his stomach as the young woman fell like a doll beside him. He backtracked a few times as the man neared him, still aiming it at him. Phesx Caolia’s light black eyes’ contents wobbled before he took one weak step forward.

“Maldito! You realized? It -COUGH, doesn’t matter…” The man depreciatingly commented as Phesx Caolia threw himself at him. The man let it happen, confident in the much better state of his equipment. He drove the pistol’s butt at Phesx Caolia’s head, but he still wore the helmet, which the man only saw through a blurry eyesight after getting too close together.

Phesx Caolia tackled the man down and headbutted him thrice, breaking each other’s protection a bit. Then, he used his right hand to punch, but saw the man decisively switch the safety switch off. “!!”

Bang!!

Phesx Caolia deviated it at the last goddamn moment with his left hand. A long, inhumane gash appeared on his wrist and the back of his hand, showing all his bones. Meanwhile, the man looked slightly perplexed. He was stunned at failing, and at the age of his enemy, thinking, ‘So young!’

“Graaaaaawwwghhh!” Phesx Caolia cared no more and raised his arms. With his fingertips joining, he stabbed and stabbed the man’s helmet. Then, he destroyed the thick armor on the torso with ease. The man died halfway Phesx Caolia’s rage.

“…” When Phesx Caolia finished, his head rapidly bobbed back and forth in circles while sitting on the gory mess he made of the enemy. He saw many of those hidden shadows around him. With all flashlights gone, and only the young woman’s and this corpse’s weapons pointing at him, they illuminated him. The dried blood around his chin belonged to some enemies, but also his own.

Remembering the way the young woman died, Phesx Caolia grinned before struggling to stand up with an even more weakened breathing. His expression returned to an indifferent one before he walked outside the area below the bridge.

Step, ste- step.

“?” Phesx Caolia stopped, barely able to hear someone’s hurried footsteps. He looked at the ramp, where he saw the enemy he had ignored rush down, with his chest bleeding, and his neck having a few knife cuts, all horizontal.

“Mm.” Phesx Caolia lightly exclaimed. The enemy looked down, tripped because of it, and slid down the ramp. He stared wide-eyed at the young soldier, shocking him. “You’re alive!”

“…” Phesx Caolia walked in front of the enemy, whose back was against the ramp’s floor, and eyes looked at him with fear. An idea occurred to him. The young man didn’t dare underestimate a dying soldier, not after trying to kill one before returning, out of shame and wanting credit.

“Information,” Phesx Caolia said with a broken voice. His light black eyes were indifferent, and his strangely healthy-looking lips, with dried blood around and on them, looking… depreciatory?

“W- w- w- wi- will you let me live?” The young man asked, terrified. Phesx Caolia took his small pistol and aimed it at the young man’s head. “Information, and you can leave alive. I won’t shoot you or kill you after you tell me. So, tell me.”

Phesx Caolia calmly voiced, with his voice completely laid back. Just broken.

“Okay!” The young man’s eyes broadened. He contentedly chirped, “Our contact was a man from that tower control. Where the gate is opened. Although their information was lacking, they didn’t say you had explosives!”

Phesx Caolia patiently listened. He reminded his ‘prisoner’, “Information. Details.”

“Yes, yes, yes!” After nodding like a chick pecking on rice, the enemy blabbed on. “I think he’s a robust 30-something man. Should be sergeant or staff sergeant. A- an- a- and h-he always has a cigarette in his fucking lips. It makes it hard for anyone to understand whatever shit he’s saying. He might think that makes him seem cool and never takes it out. He always has it.”

“…” After the enemy finished, Phesx Caolia just looked at his face. He didn’t move a bit. As for the young man, he looked up at him, relaxing a little before asking. “Will y-”

Bang bang bang bang bang bang! When the enemy tried to speak, Phesx Caolia emptied his small pistol’s last magazine. Then, wasting no time, he grabbed his medium pistol and shot the man’s torso, everywhere, after destroying his head with the other pistol.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang!!

After glancing at the legs and groins without a complete corpse, Phesx Caolia indifferently looked around him. It was night. He took his small phone out, believing it to be destroyed. But when he took it out, it was complete. Cursing his ‘good’ luck in silence, he checked the time. It wasn’t even 9 pm.

Not even 20 hours after their mission, they had failed it. Everyone died, and Phesx Caolia was only left standing for now. The future was too uncertain, as it always has been. Without any more care, Phesx Caolia fell back first after walking ahead a little.

He checked the helicopter’s crash site. Unless they had space suits for heating and fire hazards, then they melted, no doubt about it.

‘Hmmm…’ Phesx Caolia’s eyesight remained blurry. Minute after minute passed, but as his blurriness seemed to recede, he looked at the platform the platoon was supposed to protect. ‘Why am I not losing consciousness?’

Beep- piib. Out of nowhere, Phesx Caolia heard a few things from his helmet’s direction communication. His eyes closed, and his face faced upwards. ‘M- uggh.’

. . .

The next day, late in the morning. At the gates where Prequa military camp hid and formed a control point.

“It’s coming,” a few hidden soldiers inside a building chatted when they saw an old car finally arriving. Then, a shout came from their radio. “Open the gate! Identity confirmed!”

Phesx Caolia watched the gate open as the fake debris were removed, and drove forth. He stopped near a tall building that looked empty. A person came for him and brought him inside. Weak and dizzy, Phesx Caolia ignored his surroundings.

They had perfect lightning, and electricity to maintain it, of course. Meat and tea smelled came from every room, while the scent of medicine was pungent towards the underground storage. Ignoring everything, Phesx Caolia went to an enclosed room with many guards watching it.

A few minutes later, a gunshot was heard from inside. The guards were notified a few seconds later, avoiding any possible misunderstanding, just as Hellcat exited the room while holstering a blood small pistol at his side.

Before leaving the building, he stopped and spoke to another person. The previous one was a bit timid in meeting him again, after seeing what he saw. “Ah, give me medicine. And a cryobag.”

“Err… sure. This way, please.” The officer nodded before bringing Phesx Caolia to the underground levels. He was given everything he asked for. Before leaving Phesx Caolia was also ‘rewarded’ another truck of the same size as the one he arrived here with.

When Phesx Caolia left, many soldiers looked at his back. Doubtful, semi-respectful… and/or pretty much uncaring.
