One punch had enough force to slaughter one hundred dragons. Yet, no matter how many punches she rained down on the barrier, it made no dent. It frustrated Ingrid. Knowing that Dalton was inside of here, and she couldn’t get in.
Nothing had ever stopped her from getting into his room. Even with Maya’s intricate weaving of barriers, she eventually got in, and had enough time to steal some underwear before Maya personally came herself to banish her away.
This barrier was different though. By her estimates, she would need enough force to destroy one thousand dragons in order to break it. It meant that in order to do so, she would have to build enough power to break it.
That might take days.
It irked her to call that woman, but she knew if it was her, as a master of barriers, she could probably disarm this.
Ingrid sighed as she called Maya.
“Hey, don’t hang up. Yome has kidnapped Dalton. You should probably get here.”

Frustration gripped Maya after her phone call with Ingrid. Of all the times to get kidnapped by a witch, and it wasn’t Ingrid herself, but another troublesome witch.
She was in the middle of gathering information from a destroyed headquarters of the Assassin’s Guild. It had taken her a couple of years to find one. As much as she would have loved to go find Dalton and save him, she was too busy with finding information on the Milkman and his whereabouts.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
Every assassin in the facility had been turned to an ice statue. They had been very difficult to fight. All of them had anti magic armor, and even had an active magic dampener field. It had caused her more trouble than she had hoped, and honestly was still in the process of recovering.
Then there was the time sensitive hacking on the mainframe. It had been set up in a way where if a password wasn’t entered every twenty-four hours, it would erase all data and disconnect from the network.
It had been twenty-two hours since the last input of the password.
The trouble wasn’t having access to the information, she had all the access. The troublesome part was decrypting the code in the information.
She knew she was close to doing so, and leaving now would mean years of setbacks. She would go rescue Dalton, but at the latest it would be in two hours.
She continued to work.

While taking a break from torturing Dalton, Yome, the Witch of the Black Dragon, watched as Ingrid continued her assault on her barrier. It irked her how determined she was to crack her barrier. She had done her research on this. She was certain this barrier would surpass the barriers even Maya made.
She did not create the barrier to test its might on the Witch of the Crimson Blood, though it was very effective. She created the barrier to do battle on Maya.
Maya had destroyed her creations quite easily. She was the premier barrier master. She could erect barriers of ice that would never melt or break. She usually broke her barriers by finding a flaw in its programming.
Not this time.
She had combed through the barrier’s programming with detail. She made sure that all bugs she had found were patched and even improved upon. It had taken her two decades to create, and she would be damned that it would fail to live up to its prestige.
Yome had the boyfriend. She was surprised how weak this reincarnation was. Watching him break from the eroge had truly downgraded his status. He had to be the worst reincarnation since that life he was a social media influencer in fantasy world.
But just a tad.

Finally, she had decoded the last request and location for the Milk Man.
As she gazed upon the record, her mouth gaped in horror.
She scrambled to leave the place.
The Milkman’s next target was Dalton.
