[ARC 4] Chapter 61 - The Witch of the Crimson Moon

Dalton woke with a shudder. Once more he found himself in an unfamiliar room. He rose his hands and saw chains on his wrists and ankles.

The Witch was putting on makeup in front of her mirror. “Oh, good you’re awake,” she said without looking back. “I was beginning to worry that you wouldn’t wake up.”

He tested the chains, testing them, seeing if he could overpower them. Glowing purple letters slowly formed on them.

“You won’t be able to break free from those chains,” the witch said. “It would take fifteen demon gorillas to even make a slight strain on them.”

Dalton glared at her. “You know Maya is busy. She won’t be back for a couple of weeks.”

“I’ve got time.” She was patting her face with a pad. “Although, I don’t think you do. You should go ahead and call her. I’m sure she gave you something in case of emergencies.”

“We have nothing like that,” Dalton said, a painful expression twisted on his face. “You see…Maya has never used a phone before.”

“…”

Yome quietly put the pad down, and turned around. She placed her hand on her laps, giving Dalton a very concerning look.

“You know, we’re witches right? The magic we use was a basis for interdimensional communication. Why would she need a cellphone, when she can use magic to watch you?”

“…What?” Dalton couldn’t understand. So, he pulled out his phone showing her his flip phone. “Maya said she doesn’t want a cellphone. She told me she can’t use this.”

Yome snorted and broke out in laughter. “I see what’s going on here. She can’t contact you because you have a flip phone. One that doesn’t use interdimensional communication. You can only use this on your planet.”

The witch held up her two fingers, and a magic circle formed over it. She placed it near her ear.

“Call the fighting freak.” He could hear it ring, and then somebody answered. “Hey, was it you watching me? If it is, then you should know what I want. Bring Maya, or I will kill her current boyfriend and she will have to wait for the next reincarnation.”

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Then the magic circle disappeared and she gave a nice smile.

“She will find Maya.”

Dalton blinked. “Who did you call?”

“The Witch of the Crimson Moon,” she said in a nonchalant voice.

“Why would you call her?”

“What? Isn’t she the one that trained you to fight? I could tell right away it was her.”

“What are you talking about?” Sweat dripped down his cheek. “The person that trained me was a ninja by the name of Mikoto Kurogane.”

“Mikoto Kurogane?” She waved her hand and a screen popped up in front of Dalton.

It was a picture of a very burly man with huge bulging muscles. His face was scarred heavily, and it looked like he was missing a chunk of his nose.

“Was this the man that trained you?”

“No. He was a lot smaller than that. Like up to my chest.”

“Then you were not trained by Mikoto Kurogane, because the man you see in front of you is Mikoto Kurogane.” The witch was looking at her nails. “You were trained by the battle junkie known as the Witch of the Crimson Moon.”

“That….” Dalton shook his head. “Did Maya make another witch train me?”

“No. The two of them hate each other. Maya would rather ask me to train you than that battle junkie.” She gave a crazed smile. “And she just absolutely hates me.”

“Can I assume that you hate her as well?”

“No. I absolutely love her.”

She was serious. He could practically see the hearts come out of her eyes. That was the face of a maiden in love.

Dalton was feeling in danger.

“I don’t understand. If you love her…does that mean you are going to kill me?”

She gave him a smile, and turned around. She resumed working on her face. “Your boss should know her number. Why don’t you reach out to her?”

“My boss?”

She waved her hand lazily and the screen changed to an image of Ingrid.

“Oh, right. I forgot about her.”

Yome gave a haughty laugh at that. “She would feel sad if she heard you say that. After all, she is the Witch of the Crimson Moon.”

Ingrid slammed her hand blowing the desk into small little woodchips. She mashed her teeth.

That woman.

She had said too much.

From the screen floating where the desk had been, Yome looked up and winked. Of course, she knew she was watching the events develop.

But to reach out to Maya? Even she would not do that to that thieving cat.

She had worked hard. So hard.

Every time she tried to get together with his reincarnation, she would swipe him away from her.

She had made a deal with his father to marry him, yet, once more she came in and swooped him away like a falcon taking her meal.

Ingrid hated her.

After a moment of silence, she changed her view to the three idiots. They were happily eating breakfast while Dalton had been captured.

She called Eira, telling her what to do next.

Then, once she was done relaying her orders, she went to her closet, bringing out the white ninja costume she had used to train Dalton.

She was going to kill that witch.
