Mylos dashed forward, grabbing Ryan’s then slamming the back of the hero’s head into the earth, creating a crater in the ground, then Mylos dragged Ryan along the ground. Ryan’s head through into the earth, leaving a crooked trail on the ground as he fought with Mylos.
Punching the demon in the eye, Ryan took Mylos off-guard. He kicked him in the abdomen with an extreme amount of holy energy infused into his legs, and Mylos staggered to the side. Before he could chase, Mylos swung his blade and carved a gash on his face.
“Don’t let your guard down.” Mylos said coldly, but before he could react Ryan counterattacked, swinging his great sword in a terrifying curve. He tilted his body to dodge, but the sword shaved off a huge chunk of his upper body and this forced Mylos to retreat.
“Our Lord gave me strength to face the demons before me. His glory is immortal!” Ryan charged, his eyes gleaming in a gold light. As he exploded with strength, his hair shattering into the wind, and muscles expanding, Ryan grew annoyed with Mylos’s smirk, “[Divine Vengeance]!”
As Ryan swung his blade, Mylos countered and their blades clashed. Ryan closed in, headbutting Mylos in the face, then grabbing him by the neck. Mylos grinned as Ryan tried to burst his neck with his hands, then he opened his mouth to speak, “Is this your limit? The limit of your God’s power?”
“You can still talk in this situation? I will—“ Ryan’s arm attained a golden glow but Mylos’s neck was like a diamond, and no matter how hard he squeezed, Ryan could not kill him. Mylos grinned in silence, and it aggravated Ryan, “If you refuse to die, I will use even more energy!”
“Go on. Struggle.” Mylos chuckled, his fangs growing more prominent as his grip on his blade tightened and the chaos energy around it surged. Ryan roared with his pupils dilating, his gaze as fierce as a tiger’s, and his body vibrating. Mylos laughed, “Is that all? Is this your limit?”
“What?” Ryan felt Mylos’s neck growing in his hands, and his lips trembled. He watched as a wing shot out of the demons back, his grip slowly loosening around the growing neck. Mylos towered over him, and Ryan felt his heart skip a beat, his hand around the demon’s neck loose, “What are you?”
“You were ill prepared…” Mylos spun his blade, then performed a slanted vertical slash. The hero got his armour sliced through like butter, and blood splattered all over the area. Ryan staggered back with a shocked expression on his face, but Mylos’s gaze had grown lifeless, “Begone, fool.”
In a single hit — swinging his arms and slamming it into the hero — Mylos sent Ryan flying into a flying somersault, until he lost momentum and crashed on the ground metres away. Mylos waited, but Ryan did not rise. He turned around, expecting an attack, but Mylos paused, “He’s beaten?”
Seeing that the hero did not rise even with his back turned, Mylos shook his head then infused his body with chaotic energies, taking flight. He was not an expert at airborne transport, but Mylos narrowed his eyes, “I just hope I can get to them in time… or else…”

“Hmm?” Alissa stopped walking, looking from left to right, her brows furrowing. The road here parted into two directions, and the church — now turned demons — were divided on which of the paths would be the fastest route to the church. So she stood there, wondering which to follow.
“Alissa, we should take the left path. It branches into smaller districts, if we go right around them we would be at the back of the church!” One of the men, wearing a suit with his collar ripped off and a half shredded hat said in a serious tone.
“No, that area is too crowded! We should take the right path because it leads through a deserted road that forks directly into the back of the church.” A woman spoke up, adjusting her broken glasses on her nose, and clearing her tone. Her tone was stoic.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
“But, it’s a longer route!” Someone shouted, and many nodded their heads in agreement. Alissa narrowed her eyes. In this case, maybe she should consider taking—
“The same time or worse could be spent going around the crowded districts.” A man whispered to another. Others nodded their heads, and Alissa felt her eyes twitch.
“Here’s what we are going to do. Since it’s a forked road, we’ll split up and attack the church at different times! They’ll be shocked by this.” Alissa narrowed her gaze in thought, “But would Mylos be in favour of this? What if the others do not attack the church? If we fail, it’s over for him.”
“That’s a good plan! Boss, we should hold a vote!” One of the men shouted, but Alissa shot him a dirty look. He stood with his brows furrowed, then narrowed his eyes for a second, “Are you worried that some of us are planning to wreck havoc in the districts.”
“I will split everyone here into two groups. I will lead a group through the districts whilst others will settle for the deserted road.” Alissa nodded her head, her gaze turning resolute, “Let’s take a few minutes of our time for a headcount. Please, hurry up.”

“Dammit…” Madeleine ran at a fast speed, transforming into a golden light that streaked through the darkness, everything around her merely a blur as she ran. She stopped once to twice, her whole body sore from running, and observed the direction she ran in, “I hope I can make it in time.”
“Hehe!” Something ran towards Madeleine, its voice trailing behind it. As it ran, Madeleine stared for a second, then charged forward. In an instant, she was metres away and the demons was torn to pieces, blood splattering all over the road and house walls.
She ran past people, through windows, and over walls. All they noticed was a flash of light and a gust of wind, and she ran forward, edging closer and closer to their location. She sniffed like a dog, a coldness clenching around her heart, and she soon reached her limit.
Madeleine shot forward, stumbling over a trashcan and flying into the air at a fast speed. As she flew, her heart skipped a beat, but she calmed down. Madeleine spun around midair, cracking bones as she forced her body to straightened then crashing into the ground, bursting her limbs.
But, she did not stop, panting in silence until her wounds healed, then beginning her move. She crawled until her legs healed, then resumed her fierce sprint. After minutes, Madeleine reached the forked road, then picked up Alissa’s scent, her eyes lighting up, “More demons with her?”
Madeleine paused for a while to catch her breath, then dashed forward again. Infusing her body with order, transforming into a streaking light that chased Alissa down. She knew that path led down to the church, “I’ll warn her to wait, then activate the trap to ease their entrance.”
“Alissa!” Madeleine screamed, and as the demon zombie girl turned around to Madeleine, seeing the woman waving her hand and jogging towards her, Alissa wore a wry smile. Madeleine stopped by her side, panting heavily, “There’s a trap… hah… just wait here… I’ll set it off.”
“Huh? Why do you have to set it off? Let me do—” Alissa turned around to run in the direction of the church, but Madeleine had already vanished. Alissa’s heart skipped a beat, but she furrowed her brows and chased the streak of light!
Madeleine turned around to see Alissa chase her, and the other demons follow them. She wanted to tell them how much of a dumb decision that was, but if Aysla was on her way, then they needed to finish this quickly! The church won’t see this coming!
She caught sight of it, a building with spires that towered into the heavens. The gates were wide open and no guard or hero was in sight. The space around the gates was massive, enough to house two or three small houses. All it catered for was a small garden, then a vast emptiness.
Madeleine rushed into the area, but as soon as her crossed the garden, rushing to the gates, her body froze up and she smiled. Arrays revealed themselves in the hundreds, all around the walls, the pavements and the garden — everywhere except the air. Madeleine sighed, “I guess I did it?”
Eight pillars collapsed from the sky, all as massive as the walls of the church, causing the ground to tremble and dust to rise. The arrays livened then Madeleine closed her eyes. As a bolt of lightning fell from the heavens upon her, Alissa and the other demons rushed into the area, shocked.
“Oh shit… It’s quite massive…” Madeleine struggled to speak as the lightening struck her to her knees, forcing Madeleine’s head into a wild spin. She clenched her fists, glancing around the area, “I see. Alissa, you can rush in through the blind spots. It’s a fixed ritual, and would remain until I die.”
“What?” Alissa stared at Madeleine as if she was a madwoman, “You’re not going to die. You’re practically a zombie now… how much this can you tak—” Before she could finish, Madeleine’s cold laugh forced her to stop and listen with a frown on her face.
“Hurry up! It can activate as many times as they wish as far as fools are provided. Make sure you go in small groups, there could be more traps like this!” Madeleine rolled her eyes, but her shoulders had slumped and her head drooped, “Quickly, while I remain in the spotlight!”
