"What did we do? I said it was an experiment, someone like you isn't supposed to know anything about it." The receptionist rolled her eyes, she didn't even blink twice as she ruthlessness played down Mylos' question.
Mylos chuckled.
"Someone like me?" The coldness in his eyes suddenly sharpened, and the space around him stirred as his aura began to flare, the blade in his hands grew even colder to the receptionist, a wicked glint shining on it's blade.
"You can't threaten me. I won't tell you—"
Mylos twisted his wrist, and in one clean stroke severed the receptionist's arm from her shoulder. Before she was able to react, his pressed his blade against her neck, this time — locking her frozen in place with widened eyes.
Her severed arm shrivelled up on the ground, turning to dust in mere seconds. Although she didn't regenerate it back in a second, the blood stopped flowing as the arm slowly grew back out. She was stunned.
"The next would be your head. I won't even blink twice before doing it." Mylos tightened his grip, his eyes cold as ice as he stared into he receptionist's frozen eyes, "It would be wise for you to answer my questions."
Although the bleeding had stopped, the pain from the wound was still eating her up inside. The shock from her arm getting cut off like that had rendered her unable to properly articulate her thoughts to speak.
"So you're a demon? Interesting. You must be like that sweet little girl from before, a wasted half-blood." With his eyes radiating a deep coldness, he pressed the blade tighter, "It must be why I had difficulty sniffing you out."
Soon after Mylos speech, the receptionist's confusion a second earlier transformed into a frantic rage. Her eyes torched as she opened her mouth to roar, "H—how dare you! You pathetic excuse for a—"
But feeling the blade pressing tightly on her neck, she silenced herself. Her gaze grew cold as she locked eyes with Mylos, "Our experiment was on the creation of an entity with immortal life. An undying monster with zero restrictions by their mortal body."
"All were unsuccessful at the time, so we used attack as a guise to dispose of all the failed bodies. That thing was one of the failures, her name used to be Alissa. She was found by one of our scouts."
The receptionist frowns,
"For some reason after her fail, she is still sentient. We'd checked continuously, and were sure she was dead. Your tampering must have affected her someone, so I wanted you to get out of there before you did anything more."
Mylos frowned. His tampering?
He raised his right hand to his face, gazing deeply into his palm. Would what happened with her had repeated itself if he'd touched someone else? Is the fear of some strange kid gaining knowledge about this, her reason?
He didn't believe her completely. If that was so, it made a lot of sense why she'd tried scaring him off earlier, but why didn't she try taking the body? It would have been a lot more useful than chasing him.
Stolen novel; please report.
Mylos was sure that if she grabbed the woman and ran in the opposite direction, he wouldn't even bother with chasing her. So, why didn't she do that? She tried all she could to impale him, and he couldn't stand back.
"My ‘tails’ were a result of these experiments. We call all of them ‘ghost codecs’. Of course, I'm not a true demon without these codecs.” The receptionist blinked, "It does help in evading annoyances like your and many others."
Mylos just watched in silence. He was unmoved by her speech, his sword still pressing against her neck. He was still considering whether to just finish everything here as he was not fond of having the pitied dog come back to bite. He believed errors should be quickly eliminated.
"Don't worry, I have no bad feelings towards you. If you were a threat to me, you'd be dead a long time ago. You are still a bit too weak to kill me." The reception smiled a second later, "Well, where are our manners? My name is Lisa, and what do you want me to call you?"
I can't kill her? Mylos frowned, he felt curious – wanting to test the theory for himself. As he lifted his blade from her neck, her flashed the receptionist a cold smile, "You can call me, Mylos. Too bad I'm in a hurry."
Mylos swung his blade, causing it to smash into Lisa's neck at a frightening speed. He didn't hesitate in what he felt wasn't going to be harmful to him if executed.
Bang!
Sparks flew. Mylos' blade broke the skin, but seemed a bit inefficient in hacking away any further. Although her regeneration speed was slow, Mylos discovered that her defensive capabilities were quite high.
"Hehe. Mylos, huh?" Lisa, the receptionist smiled as her eyes gleamed in a strange light. She stared down at the blade digging into her neck, the coldness being emitted from her body soaring, "You're in a hurry, so I won't kill."
Before Mylos could react, a ‘codec’ appeared out of no where, and stabbed at his chest. He wasn't able to block it in time, letting the codec impale him, then pushed him a good distance away from Lisa who smiled.
As soon as it had pushed Mylos away, it withdrew itself from his chest then returned to Lisa. Mylos coughed up a mouthful of blood as he knelt down on the ground, a wicked gleam hidden in his eyes which were lowered.
"Do you want to go again?" Lisa formed a seal with her fingers. Four codecs appeared behind her, all aimed at the kneeling Mylos, "I'll ensure you don't get to where you're hurrying off to to."
Mylos stood up to his feet, smirking coldly with a sharp gleam in eyes. He turned to the woman who had sat by the door behind him, then nodded towards her, "Stand up, we're leaving now. Intelligently, you don't object?"
The woman, Alissa, stood up to her feet after what he'd said to her. Seeing that he complied, Mylos finally took a step towards Lisa, "As for you, are you sure you want to stand in my way? Even with a thousand of those, you're not strong enough to beat me at my maximum."
"Why would I want more enemies? I've had enough I'm still dealing with, and I can't afford for more." Lisa stood aside, not bothering herself with any more speech after that, "These codecs aren't for you, for today at least."
Hearing that, Mylos picked up the bags. After he'd got both bags secured, he grabbed Alissa's arms and began walking away. He walked past Lisa, halted for seconds in silence, then he left without looking back.
Lisa turned around and gazed at his departing back, her brows furrowed as she stared with an overly complicated gleam in her eyes. After he'd disappeared from her sight completely, she sighed then also followed in leaving the hall, although she moved at a very slow pace.

Mylos on the other hand had already left the building in a hurry. He wanted to check with the other bodied, but a few seconds of thought into it made him abort the idea a second after having it.
He marched out of the hotel with Alissa besides him as they both moved forward. He had handed her the bags in an experiment to test her strength as well, and seeing how well she bandled them, he was surprised.
The clothes weren't anything special, but being able to keep his bag filled with all the heavy accessoried he had taken with him, lifted? It was an inhuman feat Mylos was most especially curious about.
"Welp, who cares much?" Mylos shrugged. He needed to find a way he could explain the newcomers existence to his sister. He couldn't possibly leave her behind could he? He had to take responsibility for waking her.
Right?
