The Hero leapt back as Alissa chased. He spun to the side — dodging two of Lisa’s codecs — and dashed forward, stabbing his spear forth. Alissa turned to dodge his spear at a fast speed and as the spear was withdrawn, the Hero leapt ahead and kneed her in the cheek.
Aysla leapt forward, taking the opportunity to grab the Hero by the neck. The force carried with her jump allowed her to sweep him off his feet, crashing him to the ground and burying half his face into the earth.
Lisa formed more codecs that stabbed for his head but he grabbed Aysla and used her to shield himself, throwing her to the side with Lisa’s codecs buried into the back of her neck. He leaped to his feet, waving his hands as runes formed around him.
“Enough with this folly!” he shouted angrily as a burst of golden light exploded from within him to consume the area. He ran forward with his spear rotating in his hands, dashing for Lisa without a second of hesitation, “Golden—“
Before he could finish, Alissa leapt forward and grabbed him by the waist, grappling him to the ground. He growled madly, stabbing the butt of his spear into her neck, drawing a scream as he dug it deeper before pushing her away forcefully.
Alissa rolled over to the side, grasping the side of her neck as she grimaced. She lifted her eyes to find Mylos staring down upon her — motionless. Alissa rose up to her feet, charging for the Hero again, roaring loudly.
He turned to stare into her eyes as he shouted, “Heavenly Rectification!” and a golden light fell from the heavens and collapsed upon her. She caught fire, staggering to the side as she screamed in pain, halting her charge and clawing at her face.
“Holy energy…” Aysla muttered seeing Alissa burst into a maddened frenzy. She was an undead, so it would have a very heavy effect on her. Alissa staggered to her feet, walking to one of the fallen paladins and picking up their sword.
“Don’t you dare tarnish the grace of their blade, you abomination!” the Hero turned to face her, and he charged forth. Eight golden spears formed a semi circle behind him and under his command, they all charged towards Aysla automatically.
Before they could reach her, codecs appeared to counter them. Guarded by Lisa, Aysla ran forth and took aim with her sword. The Hero stared at her with a mocking gaze as she threw the blade in his face. He dodged but when he returned his gaze, she was gone.
His heart skipped a beat, catching a flash of light from the corner of his eyes. He spun around, a shocked expression on his face as he stared at the cold light of the swinging blade. A shiver licked up his spine as he broke into a cold sweat.
Aysla smiled, her sole wing flapping viciously. Her ink-black eyes housed a light like a purple star that gleamed in the vast black void. She grinned as her blade drew a bleeding line across his neck, an ethereal vibe emanating from her as she dropped to the ground, lowering her head.
“Im-Impossible!” he rubbed his neck, his expression growing serious. He grasped his spear tight and exploded with strength. His aura transformed from a tranquil golden glow to a raging flame that rippled through the wind and earth.
The Hero dashed forward to stab Aysla as she vanished into thin air. In that second, he turned to the side and crossed his spear before himself, blocking her blade. She drew her blade along its body before vanishing again, this time without the sword.
He was stunned as her leg smashed into the side of his face and before he could attack her, she’d driven the sword into his armour. His eyes exploded with rage as he rotated the spear and stabbed it into her collar bone, drawing no reaction from Aysla.

The Hero snapped a finger and the eight spears buried only Lisa’s codecs withdrew, and then all eight spears turned and shot into her back with blinding speeds. They burned with a ferocious flame and she screamed in pain, her grip still tight around her sword.
He lifted his hand and hacked at her neck with its side. In response, she twisted the blade. Their eyes locked and the Hero growled in frustration. Lisa and Alissa had recovered and they charged for his life, he hacked at Aysla neck again — blowing her into the ground.
Her blade was dragged out of his guts and he held the wound and began to murmur a prayer to the God of Light. He leapt to the side, dodging Lisa’s codecs and evading Alissa’s jump, shouting, “I’d like you to stop throwing those abominable tentacles at me, demon!”
“Demon?” Lisa blinked as all of her codecs froze mid-air. She stood there in silence for a while, a frown on her face that grew — twisting her expression, “Demon?!” she balled her hands into fists as her codecs doubled in size, their edges hardening greater.
“What are you going to do?” he taunted as he grabbed Alissa and tossed her to the side, calm as he watched her crashed into other speculating demons. He turned back to Lisa, only for his vision to be shrouded in countless codecs, all glinting in a cold vicious light, “Demon?”
He dashed back as she chased, her codecs stabbing in his direction. He grinned suddenly as her pupils narrowed down to needle points. He dashed forward instantly, spinning his spear in his hands with a cold gleam in his eyes. She staggered back as her codecs collapsed down in a deathly web.
The Hero weaved through them effortlessly, his movements a vicious blur as he made his way to her position. Before she could react, the length of his spear drove into her heart as she spilled blood across the ground. She staggered back, staring at the spear buried into her chest.
“Here is to dead demons…” he raised his hand to cleave off her neck while she was immobilised but before he could finish her off, his hand exploded in a burst of blood and gore. He blinked as the remnants of what was once his arm rained to the ground, “the fuck…”
Lisa dragged herself along the blade to shorten the distance between them, opening her mouth wide and biting into the Hero’s neck. She dragged her teeth away from his neck, ripping his flesh off as his bleed profusely. He grabbed her and threw her her to the side.
Lisa rolled across the ground, crashing into a tree with her back. The tree shook, and leaves were rattled down. Soon, Lisa lay in a blood of her own blood beside the tree, leaves scattered around her.
“Hey, weak bastard…” the Hero stared at his hands, turning around to face Mylos. The look in his eyes was cold enough to freeze an inferno and if it could kill, Mylos would be sent into a resurrection loop. He held his spear, his aura growing into a maddened mess.
Mylos lowered his hands, a grin on his face. Veins rippled across his forearm, the skin twisting to something strange as his fingers grew into massive claws. His fangs grew in size and a horn grew out of his head. He staggered forward, hunching over and cackling.
The Hero stood before Mylos, watching with a twisted expression as a massive wing shot out of Mylos’ back. From a thin teenage body, Mylos grew to a size that towered over that of the Hero — in his hunched over state. As he raised his head, his height difference became clearer.
Mylos’ face was now a twisted ferocity. He parted his lips, revealing rows of sedater teeth and a deep void that seemed eager to consume all. As he staggered forward, his demonic aura grew forth and consumed the area around him — a chaotic corruption that ate through all life.
Alissa and the other demons roared furiously as their eyes shone in a purple light. The blood of Mylos that existed within them, its properties shifted within them in the presence of Mylos’ demonic form. They all staggered forward, most foaming at the mouth with beastly eyes.
“Hey, Hero.” Mylos grinned, the space around him rippling like waves across a disturbed pond. A cold gleam shone in his eyes as he stepped forward, and the earth beneath turned a dark purple. He drew out his blade as the Hero entered a stance, preparing for a clash.
The Hero bent over and leaped forward, the force from the motion causing the ground beneath him to explode into numerous fragments. As he moved forward, a golden gleam spread out from his shoulders, forming a golden arm of light.
The light exploded and in an instant, the Hero’s hand was healed. Like it was never destroyed, a regular feat for those blessed by the heavens — a miracle. Mylos chuckled, leaping forward with his blade grasped tight in his hand, swinging it with all his might.
He could care less for miracles, because after all… Humans don’t die twice!
