“Knock Knock.”
Everyone paused, turning in the direction of the door. The closest to the door were Mylos and Alissa, and they exchanged cold looks. Mylos rose to his feet calmly, approaching the door.
Before he could reach the door, Karen ran past him at a fast speed. He walked forward calmly, watching as she dragged the door open carelessly. As it opened his pupils narrowed to needle points.
A familiar tail burst into the room through the open door, stabbing in his direction. In an instant, he grabbed the tail, sliding back as a vicious light flashed in his eyes. Of course, it did not take them a long time to track them.
“Bang!” the door that led to the study upstairs burst open, and Aysla rushed out. Arthrax follows behind her with his hand in pockets, observing the scenery with cold eyes. His gaze hovered over the frozen Karen, who had fallen on her butt from shock — and grew icier.
“Mylos…” the receptionist made her appearance, stepping into the room with a mad grin on her face only to find herself grinning back at a heavy aura of death from three powerhouses. She wasn’t the brightest in the world, but she understood the situation.
Before she could make a move, Aysla jumped her and Mylos released his grip on her tail — or as she called them… ghost codecs. He helped Karen to her feet then turned to Alissa. He quickly rushed to her side, dragging both further into the house for safety.
The windows burst open, and demons rushed into the building. Arthrax just stared at them for a second before his face twisted into a vicious rage, he summon his blade and stepped forward. In that instance, multiple heads were sent flying.
The demons wee stunned — the trio that remained after the majority were slaughtered that is — and tried to escape back through the windows. Mylos peered at them over his shoulders and wanted to roar in laughter, but he resisted.
He had Karen secured with him and this meant that Arthrax would have to terminate those ones unless he wanted them to chase his daughter — “Oh fuck!” — Mylos stumbled to the side as a spear was hurled past his frame. He turned around to spot a sole demon by the door.
This one must have sneaked in when the receptionist was thrown out and gathered his attack in all the chaos. Mylos only missed that attack narrowly and any mistakes would have costed the life of the half-demon girl he needed as leverage for his safety!
“Bang — Shatter!”
In an instant, the demon that hurled the spear exploded in a mess of gore and bones. Arthrax’s gaze settled on it for a second before shifting to Sylvia who stepped out of Karen’s room. He wore a calm frown for a second before disappearing from his position.
Heads flew, leaving trails of blood as Arthrax rushed outside. Sylvia stared at his back until he’d left her alone then turned to Mylos who had led Karen and Alissa into the kitchen. His sword was in the kitchen, and she guessed that was his reason for going there.
Why had he kept his sword in the kitchen? That was a question only he could answer. After she observed their movements, she decided to follow them. There was no way she would leave her only child in the hands of a stranger.

“What are you?” the receptionist stared at one of her codecs in shock. The strange woman that had rushed her out of nowhere had bent it into deformity with a single twist! It was brutal! As they locked eyes, all the receptionist could see was madness.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Fool. I continue to fail to understand why Mylos would get himself entangled with a worthless, pathetic lowlife such as yourself.” Aysla took a step forward and in an instant, the receptionist was sent tumbling back in a fierce roll until she crashed into a wall.
Aysla stood with her hand stretched forward and slowly retrieved it. As she arm was withdrawn, she vanished from her position again and a bullet tore through the air. The demon that held the gun stood with shaky hands as she slammed her feet into its face.
Its head was removed from its neck and sent flying into the sky. The other demons, numbering to a total of over 20 were scattered around the area — all observing her. She clenched her fists, turning to face them as a crushing pressure slammed down on all of them.
“You are quite strong…” the receptionist struggled to her feet, “I guess I had underestimated the threat you pose to our cause.” As she finished that sentence, she began waving her hands frantically and more codecs formed behind her, all shooting towards Aysla.
“Heh.” Aysla crossed her hands before her chest, standing still as all the codecs crashed down on her body. The area around her was decimated by an onslaught of attacks but as the dust settled from all the relentless madness, she was revealed to be unharmed. Her eyes gleamed coldly.
The receptionist withdrew her codecs in shock and confusion, unable to fathom the situation. All of the other demons also stared dumbly, in the same stunned state as she was. After some time, they all tried to attack but none could move.
“Weaklings like you…” she drew in a deep breath, loosening her folded arms, “are the rot of this world.” She dashed forward at a fast speed, and in that instant — the receptionist found her codecs all torn from her body, scattering in numerous directions.
The receptionist staggered back in shock, her eyes shaky and knees wobbly. She could not utter a word as Aysla stepped forward, the dominating pressure suddenly bearing down on her heavier. A sweat rolled down the side of her face, dropping to the ground.
“How dare you attack my younger brother?” Aysla grabbed the receptionists head, lifting her off the ground effortless. As the legs of the receptionist dangled in the air, the other demons roared but they remained rooted in their positions as Aysla stood calmly, “Fools like you deserve only death.”
“Why don’t you kill me then?” the receptionist grinned all of a sudden and Aysla’s face grew cold and she tightened her grasp around the receptionists head. More codecs bloomed behind the smiling receptionist, all stabbing towards Aysla at fast speeds.
Once more the earth was reduced to dust, scattering into the air. The explosion shrouded both of them for the longest minute, until it finally dispersed to reveal Aysla and the receptionist. Aysla’s arm was buried in the receptionists guts, and the latter was vomiting blood all over the place.
“I don’t think you fathom the kind of threat you face.” Aysla did not loosen her grip, leaving it on the receptionists head. Not a single one of the receptionist’s codecs touched her. Aysla thought that it was quite sad, but she could care less, “You overestimate your capabilities.”
Just at that time, Arthrax burst out of the building causing more demons heads to be sent flying into the air as he skidded to a halt. He clenched his fists calmly, observing the area with a calmness in his eyes. His gaze settled on Aysla and the receptionist, and he flicked the blood off his blade.
“Overestimate?” the receptionist lifted her hands and grabbed Ayslas’ without hesitation. There was a long silence as she tried to pry the fingers away from her head to no avail until she opened her mouth to continue, “I don’t tank that you understand what is going on here, oh strong demon.”
Aysla frowned deeply as she gave up on the conversation and wanting to burst the receptionists head in her grasp. She paused hearing loud moans and groans around her, and she looked around to find the demons — she killed just now — rising again, regenerating all damage inflicted.
“The undead?” Aysla was confused. The demons here did not look or act like the average undead she had came in contact with in the past, but something more abominable. Seeing one of the demons regenerate their heads, it caused her to feel apprehension.
“Far from it. I reveal something greater than the undead, something that is more terrifying.” They all cracked their necks as she spoke, and when she stretched her arms and added, "Demons blessed by the god of death himself!” all of the demons charged at Aysla without hesitation, "The Arisen!"
