A week had passed since Mylos used his refined chaos energy — mana — to reanimate the dead bodies of the weird cult that had attacked him. They were very resistant at first but he manipulated a few into helping him convince the others of how beautiful his vision was.
Most thought that they would get promoted to high places when the victory over the church was secured — such fools, it was no wonder why they remained dead. The most resistant remained Lisa, she tried so hard in resisting but failed. The harder he trained, the weaker her resistance.
Mylos held his blade calmly, swinging at the space before him. He swung from different angle, his movements slow and steady. Time and again, he would channel chaos energy into his blade and then rip through the space before him in a single stroke — a beta technique he steadily refined.
He trained in the forests — a vast expanse of tall trees and alluring greenery. Mylos enlisted it in his training process to not harm any trees. It was a means to learn how much he could control chaos energy in battle and how devastating a controlled channel could become.
Alissa sat behind Mylos with her back relaxed on a tree. Behind her were countless trees ruined from his training over the week, some were blasted out of their trunks while most were completely uprooted from the earth — root, trunk and branches. Only few stood proud.
She flicked through the book in her hand, her eyes skimming through the words. She had quite a weird time spent with Mylos. She learned a lot about demons that she normally didn’t care about. He kept on with the info until she decided to buy this book — about demons — and he stopped.
Halfway into the book, one could only wonder why. It detailed the numerous local cuisines of the noble demon kitchens, from roasted elf— oh God, was she supposed to be into this? Her hand shook as she read the numerous delicacies, imagining herself chained to a plate with a fork and knife.
“Ha!” Mylos sliced through the air turning around calmly and sheathing his sword. As soon as he sheathed the blade, all the trees in a tree mile radius around him exploded. He staggered forth, a cold gleam in his eyes as he sat with Alissa, giving her a good enough distance.
“Why is it that I have not seen any Elves, or Dwarfs in my lifetime?” there was a curious gleam in her eyes as she turned to the monster world expert, “Are they like, extinct or anything like that? How much of an empire do they run now? How connected are they with the church?”
“Not connected enough to be allowed on the soils.” Mylos answered calmly, “The civilisations run by the races — Elf and Dwarf — are sufficiently advanced, even more so than demons and human in the case of the latter. Although, keeping to oneself is always best.”
“What about Dragons?” Alissa closed the book, turning to Mylos with gleaming eyes. She tried all she could not to blast him with questions left and right, waiting patiently as he thought of a suitable answer, opening his mouth to speak in his calm voice,
“Most races do not dwell in this realm and dragons are one of them. There are other realms with higher authorities lording them. Most times creatures like dragons are a rarity or in special cases the simplest conformity.” He held his chin, “I have never seen a Dragon though being nonexistent here.”
To his knowledge that is… One can never refute a possibility. Mylos smirked as he watched Alissa sink in the information, she looked like a child. He was taught the simplest of things from the minute he spoke his first word and has been learning more ever since.
It was a rarity for Mylos to speak and someone who wanted to listen and learn. He was never a good student or a teacher. Seeing that Alissa was showing an interest in the other side, he took time to narrate to her the basics he knew and she listened patiently.

Mylos and Alissa took the trail to the house they lived in with Aysla and the demons. It was fairly large and quite noticeable from a distance. The structure was built from a material that looked tough, and its build was alien. The doors were wooden, and the windows of glass.

It looked like an average duplex hidden away in a deep forest with a freezing temperature and a refreshing air to breath in. Everything was quite normal and cool, until Mylos and Alissa noticed the blur of a figure hurled out a window following a loud scream.
“Well, I guess she’s having fun.” Alissa felt a bead of sweat roll down the side of her head and she sighed, stepping forward and looking around to find more bodies scattered around the ground, all of them were moaning and groaning in pain. She could only wonder what they went through…
Fake sob, sob.
Mylos wore a deadpan expression on his face. He had asked Aysla to test how durable the demon group was in comparison to Alissa, and it showed — Heh lowered his gaze to the men and women in good health — promising results. He sighed, patting Alissa on the shoulder.
She had it worse, and proved to be far more durable that Aysla herself. The only limitation Alissa had was in strength given that she could not lift two stacked trucks but could survive a train ram into her body. Till date he did not know why they all agreed to that but the results made it unforgettable.
Another body was hurled out through the window and Mylos just shrugged. There was no way it could be helped now. Alissa followed him as he opened the door and stepped into the building. They paused in the living room, glancing across the furniture where beat up demons lay, both quiet.
They marched down the room and up the stairs, shaking their heads in pity of the demons that’d tried running down only to face their waterloo at her hands. Mylos opened the door to the room on the second floor, stepping inside with Alissa to find Aysla busying herself.
Lisa led the demons that were left — five of them — and assaulted Aysla from all sides. Against others they would have been quite the opponents but before Aysla? They were outclassed in every aspect. She would flicker around the room, and her sudden hits would send the poor demons flying.
No one could track her movements and not even Lisa’s web of codecs scattered around in a big net could limit her movements. Mylos watched as Lisa staggered back whilst more fell to Aysla and a sigh escaped his mouth. He turned to Alissa and opened his mouth to speak,
“I can’t believe you would have been taken by these clowns.” He smirked, turning his neck to give the sweating Lisa a taunting stare, “They are so pathetic that even in death none of them can stand to the force of a chaos demon. All talk, no skill but even trash is silent. They are worse than trash.”
Lisa formed her codecs into a shield, blocking Aysla’s punch and sliding back. He looked like the stuff of her darkest nightmares and she wanted to punch his teeth in! Yet — she swung her codecs around, blocking punishing left and right — Aysla gave her no breathing space.
“Focus on your battle!” Aysla appeared within Lisa’s defence and the letter jerked back, codecs rained down upon Aysla but she weaved through them and chased Lisa. There was an explosion of strength from Aysla that shattered the ground beneath her, and in the next instance she was gone.
Lisa felt like a plane had landed upon her as her vision went black for a few seconds. After she regained her senses, she found herself pinned to the wall by Aysla in a choke hold. Her eyes were cold as her codecs stabbed into Aysla from various directions and the duo remained still.
“I guess Aysla had made a nemesis of that woman.” Mylos held his chin. He shook his head and was about to give them a lecture when he heard a loud crash from outside. He frowned, turning to the windows as Lisa and Aysla released themselves.
There was a flash of light in the distance and he sighted it out through the window. He stood his ground calmly as the light pierced through the sky, flying in his direction. He dashed to the windows, and at that instance the light met with him and he grabbed it with his left hand.
Boom!
There was a loud explosion of light and sound as Mylos came in contact with the piercing light. It revealed itself to be a golden spear as the dust settled and Mylos frowned, lowering his gaze to a few men and women that had invaded the premises. They were dressed in white and gold.
He shattered the spear in his hand, turning around to the trio before leaping out the window. He landed on the ground, causing a cloud of dust to rise as he drew out his blade calmly. It had been an excruciatingly long week with no action from the church — and here they were all of a sudden.
“Demon, I see that you aim to populate this commission with your vile darkness.” The man that stood at the forefront spoke calmly, a calm gleam in his eyes as he drew out his blade, “Today, oh ye follower of hell, we shall purge your existence in the name of the God of Light. Collapse and die!”
Should he collapse on the ground and fake a convulsion? Mylos chuckled, drawing his sword as he aura exploded from within him to shroud the entire area. He stepped forward calmly as they all entered defensive stances, “Where is the Hero amongst you?”
They all paused, and he narrowed his gaze. He turned to the side, lifting his gaze to find a man about his age hovering in the air atop a golden spear. The man was dressed in heavier armour, his eyes gleaming in a golden light. He glared down upon Mylos, “Demons shall be purged.”
“Then come purge me then…” Mylos taunted coldly, entering a battle stance.
