After Naath and the Zhang family head finished speaking Naath left the specifics to his father and mother to sort out. In a few hours the meeting was finished and soon the joint family dojo would be ready. Naath’s path towards starting a sect looked like it was going rather smoothly and his future plans would pan out.
Meanwhile, back at the palace in the meeting hall the emperor was talking to his advisors with a slightly pale color on his face and a look of exasperation. He had just gotten news that the neighboring kingdom of Xen had been growing its military forces for a while and was planning to invade and take over. He talked with his military advisor and agreed that they needed to call most of their high level cultivators together to form a border guard. Some of the lower level cultivators would be sent out as sentries and scouts to keep an eye out for the invading force.
After the meeting was done he felt exasperated and decided to go drinking with Naath’s father. As he thought about this his mood perked up slightly but he knew he would have to bring up the somber news to his close friend. It was hard for a ruler to even make reliable friends in the first place, most people worried about offending them or tried to suck up for a better position. Having to tell his close friend that war was coming and he would need to prepare for it was hard. Especially since he was part of the major families that were sworn to protect the country in case of emergency. With these thoughts in mind he made his way with a full escort to the Zhu family household to meet with his close friend.
Back at Naaths family home he was the first one back from the meeting and was in his room meditating. He wanted to get ready and settle his mind to form his true treasure, just as his mind was calming down and he was going to begin forming his true treasure.
*knock knock knock*
Naath opened his eyes and swore under his breath “god fucking damn it. My old lifes luck did carry over.”
He got up and went to check the door, the guards had gone out with the rest of Naath’s family to attend the meeting and the maids were given the day off. It was just him at home right now to attend to guests, when he got to the door he was annoyed at having been disturbed while trying to settle his mind for cultivation so he gave a harsh greeting before seeing who it was. The emperor on the other side of the doorway gave a light chuckle and asked.
“Bad day Naath?”
Naath looked up shocked to hear his own name and let out a breath when he saw the emperor. Shaking his head Naath said,
“Nah, just my first lifes luck has come back and it's less than ideal.”
The emperor laughed and asked where Naaths father was, when he heard that he was still at a meeting about making a dojo to uplift the country's cultivators he was annoyed but happy. Annoyed that he couldn't go for a drink with his friend, but happy that the big families were actively trying to help the country's people to grow. He sat down inside the living area of the house as Naath went back to his room to try and meditate again. He once more sat down and calmed his mind in order to begin meditation. Soon he fell into the meditative state and was inside of his soul seas pulling in energies to his central soul in order to start forming his true treasure.
However right as he started to pull in energies his parents came into the home and his father yelled loudly to the emperor in greeting. Naath ground his teeth and opened his eyes, leaving his soul. It seemed like he would need to adapt to his horrible luck that he had from his life on earth. Sometimes it was incredibly good, other times it was horrid to the point where he wondered if some sort of god was playing tricks on him! He let out a breath and adjusted himself, if it weren't for the fact that his cultivations were sealed he would have simply made a formation to soundproof the room.
But due to his unique circumstances he was completely unable to lay down even a single rune for a formation! Letting out a groan he stood up and decided to go to the library in order to quietly meditate. Although he didn't love the secret underground area, it seemed like he would have to give it a try anyway. Naath was about halfway to the library when he had a strange feeling. He recognized it as his gut feeling, helping him navigate his luck. He paused and went down a different street and in doing so passed by a shop. When he passed by it his right ear rang in a sharp short tone, Naath stopped and looked around because his right ear always brought him good things. When he spotted the shop he decided to wander inside and look around.
While he was wandering through a section with various ores and minerals suddenly a random piece of jade caught his attention. Naath grabbed it on a gut feeling and paid for it before leaving the shop. He absentmindedly continued on his way to the library and he made it there without any events happening. He quickly made his way to the door to the underground area. However when Naath was about to use the token to open it his left ear rang in a high pitched sharp tone. He immediately stopped what he was doing, whenever that ear did that, something bad was definitely going to happen if he didn't change his circumstances.
He turned on his heel and went to another quiet section of the library and sat down in front of one of the bookshelves and started meditating. This time he went undisturbed and was finally able to enter his owl soul sea. Once there he summoned Alchemy and asked for some guidance while making his True Treasure. The rune happily attended the event and guided Naath through the process.
“Okay Naath, first you need to completely clear your mind and envision the treasure you want with your entire focus. Once that is done a rough outline will appear here in your soul sea. Hopefully this central one though, seriously who the hell has 4 soul seas AND a central soul. Anyway, once the outline forms you need to focus on the details you want one by one and your soul energy will condense to the extreme and form it. Once it starts to condense you absolutely need to focus on the ability you want your True treasure to have. Keep in mind however that unless you fully understand the process behind its ability it is simply impossible to give the ability to an item.
Stolen novel; please report.
For example you understand how an A.C generator works right? Well in that case you can make a generator type true treasure and modify it as you see fit as you learn more in the future. If you really work something out maybe you could even make a martial energy generator. However your true void arts make something like that redundant, so just focus your mind and use your soul energy to form your true treasure, once you are done your body will balance its cultivation types and you will step unto the true cultivation path of this universe! I look forward to your miracles!”
Naath nodded his head at all of this information and cleared his mind focusing entirely on the idea he had. After an hour passed and Naath fell into an almost trance like state focusing on his True Treasures design finally a vague fuzzy image appeared in front of Naath. It was a small circle with a bump on the top of it as a fuzzy outline, its colors were indistinguishable and one could just barely make out the shape. Seeing this Alchemy grumbled under his breath about Naath being an inhuman monster when it came to cultivation rather than a genius human. In his era, the era of true humans, even King the most talented of them all took days to condense his true treasures outline!
If he were here even King would be shaking his head and rubbing his eyes in disbelief. The Naath now was showing talent exceeding what King had seen, he would be stunned beyond words to see Naaths rate of progress now compared to before. Naath was unaware of this and continued to focus on the image he held in his heart and mind. To him the true void arts were his precious baby, something he spent countless hours developing and understanding. It was his proudest creation and achievement, and he was planning to make his True treasure a true void item. It would be a simple treasure yet it would be a godly item. Naaths Heart and mind synchronized and his soul followed suit and suddenly a gentle humming echoed out from all of Naaths souls.
This humm echoed out of Naaths soul sea and out into the real world, Alchemy the first to hear it suddenly straightened his posture. He became entirely respectful. Then as the sound went out and a few people in the library heard it they went into a daze and unwittingly all kneeled down facing Naaths direction. When they kneeled it was like they were receiving a blessing. Their souls suddenly started to grow and make progress, the humm continued outwards and affected more and more people. Their energy cultivation didn't matter at all. Everyone who was not able to at least lay down a formation around 1000 feet in diameter was affected. Almost the entire country suddenly was kneeling down all facing towards Naath as the humm continued.
Even the birds and beasts and insects were affected by this humm, all living creatures stopped and seemed to be kneeling to a great lord and being gifted soul cultivation for their loyalty. The humm spread out for hundreds of miles before finally quieting. Alchemy gently whispered “Soul harmony… Naath, I can't even call you a monster, your a miracle.”
Soul Harmony was something that even Soul, the first human soul cultivator had only ever theorized about. He thought that if a person's mind, heart and soul all moved with singular intent and became unified that one's soul would be able to be used in almost mystical ways. He didn't clarify much about this information but he had said that at the very least, one would give off the presence of an absolute. Others would feel inclined to bend the knee and offer respect to the individual. Only those with equal power should be able to resist or at least near the same level, other than that he said that even he could only speculate what benefits this would bring.
Naath was unaware of any of this and simply continued to focus on the concept of his True treasure. After several hours the effect of the humm faded and people looked around at each other in confusion and surprise when they realised their souls had been opened! They all looked for the cause, however the cause was still focusing on his True Treasure which now had a crystal clear outline! Once it had this outline Naath’s soul avatar opened its eyes and looked at the outline and smiled brightly. It was exactly what he had been imagining this entire time with singular focus.
It was a bracelet with a single bead that would rest on the top of the wrist. It had no color yet as Naath needed to use his soul energy to condense it. Naath sharpened his focus to extremes at this moment and pulled in energy from his soul of attraction. Small condensed ‘threads’ of attraction thinner than human hair flowed out from it and in front of Naath. They gently floated in front of Naath and he guided them to interweave with one another forming a braided band. Soon they were a long string of beaded threads and they formed a circle and became seamlessly knitted together. Next Naath pulled in the surrounding energy of nothing and had it form a bead of nothing around the top of the bracelet.
The bead condensed and hardened and wrapped around the string. On top of this layer Naath pulled energy from his Creation soulThis energy formed a white coating over the bead of nothingness. Next Naath Pulled in energy from his destruction soul and had it make an extra thread that wove between the fibers of the string of attraction on the bracelet. This was a last minute thought but Naath didn't want to not use one of his souls in the creation of his true treasure. It was a physical embodiment of his true void arts after all and he was more than happy to include all of its parts. Unknown to Naath this simple last minute thought would have huge benefits in the future.
When Naath was done he focused on the functions of this bracelet. The string would bind and keep the beads in place, as well as draw in energy. The thread of destruction would turn the energy drawn in into true void energy and it would flow into the nothingness bead and be stored in it. The creation bead would, well, create. Anything Naath absorbed with his true void arts could be replicated by his creation energy, he planned to use this ture void bracelet as a medium and create the corresponding things as beads. When he was done guiding his soul energy Naath relaxed slightly, however as he did the true void tree suddenly shook lightly. It sent out a small part of each void energy from its body and infused it into the bracelet.
Naath looked at the tree with a dumbfounded expression, it had acted on a will of its own and used part of itself, a physical object to reinforce the bracelet in order to help and assist Naath. He thanked the tree and then finalized the concept of the bracelet in his mind. When he was done the bracelet shook lightly and Naaths souls shuddered. Then came the pain from his cultivations forcibly balancing themselves out!
