Chapter 43. The beginning of the end.

The otherworldly master ignored Baal entirely and stepped towards the hut, he scoffed lightly and waved his hand. When he waved his hand it was as though a hurricane had appeared and the hut was completely uplifted and destroyed. Naath who was inside however was completely unharmed laying there with his skin still the odd grey color. The color was slowly starting to shift however and a new dot appeared on his head. It was half black and half white and the colors were spinning around each other in a never-ending circular cycle. Both of the colors seemed to give off a feeling of being connected to an endless abyss.

The otherworldly master gasped and barely whispered “A dual body? No, a dual body would have two colors. This has three right now? What kind of physique does he have? I don't recognise this one even slightly. Curious.”

After saying that the otherworldly master went to sit as if there were a chair behind him, as he did so a chair appeared made out of soul energy. Baal finally snapped out of his trance of fear at this point and rushed to try to grab Naath to carry him away. The otherworldly master scoffed and waved his hand again, instantly a wall of spiritual energy formed blocking Baal from getting within 10 feet. After that he remained completely motionless watching the changes occurring with Naath curiously. As he watched a smile slowly formed on his lips, he had lived for centuries yet never encountered this type of physique.

Forget the physique he had never even encountered the type of energy flowing inside of Naath’s meridians. His curiosity peaked and he was determined to watch this transformation in full. As he watched the black and white colors slowly took over all of Naath’s skin and continued to rotate around and around. The master noticed the energy in Naath’s body becoming more and more refined, undergoing small changes with every full rotation of these colors. He didn't recognise what energy type it was but he knew for certain that whatever was happening was beneficial to it. After several hours the colors abruptly stopped rotating and began to recede back to the center of Naath’s forehead. There the colors split into two circles and separated by half an inch and stopped.

After this, the grey energy began to recede as well to the center of Naath’s forehead. When the grey color reached his forehead it too became a small circle only this one went upwards and the three dots made a kind of triangle on Naath’s forehead. The real changes though were mostly happening to Naath’s soul. The seed had begun to pulse where his soul sea used to be and released a pure white soul energy in one direction. It released a pure black soul energy in another, and finally a hazy grey one in a third. After this the seed seemed to calm down but a small string of energy connected all three soul seas to it.

A large change had also occurred in Naath’s meridians and true void points. The energy here had similarly separated into three parts. When these energies settled Naath’s consciousness slowly came back to him and he sat up groggily. What he saw when he awoke made him snap awake though and feel instantly both fear and rage. He saw his master in a massive crater in the lake that surrounded the island before, and Baal slammed on a barrier trying to get to himself. He also saw an unknown man who seemed to be in his thirties sitting on a chair made out of soul energy. The man smiled when he saw Naath awaken and waved his hand removing the soul energy barrier.

The faint white gold buried faded and Naath immediately charged at the mysterious man enveloped in rage. He circulated his true void arts in full and when he did felt the change that had occurred to his true void energy. He froze instantly and looked at his own hands when he felt the changes forgetting everything else. The otherworldly master didn’t even pause a single step and stopped only once he was right in front of Naath.

He spoke saying, “Young man, I am a master from a world much larger than this little one and can train you far better than that old man in the crater. I am here to offer you a position as my disciple, I am uniquely experienced in guiding people with special physiques and sensed yours very recently. Would you like to join me?”

Naath looked at the man snapping out of his trance, Naath couldn't understand him though and gave the man a questioning look. The man smacked his own forehead and pointed at Naath a ray of his soul energy, it entered Naath’s head and drilled into one of his three soul seas. Instantly Naath understood what the man had said realising that the man had just gifted him the knowledge of his own language. Understanding dawned on him and he shook his head, his face scrunching in anger.

He yelled at the man in his own language saying, “Why the hell would I join a man who does something like that to those close to me?!”

He was pointing exactly at elder Gui in the crater who was bloodied and barely breathing. The otherworldly master chuckled as he spoke. “Is that all?” He waved his hand once more and a formation appeared and covered elder Gui. Once it activated, elder Gui’s wounds began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye. In fact it even seemed as though he was slowly becoming younger and younger as the formation worked on him. In a matter of only three minutes, Elder Gui woke up and jumped to attention ready for battle. However when he saw the master looking at him with an amused expression his fighting spirit died instantly.

Naath was stunned at seeing the result and began to think internally about whether or not he should accept the offer that was given to him. While he was thinking however, elder Gui spoke up,

“Brat, go with him. He beat me thoroughly enough, we fought over you in the first place. He can clearly teach you far, far more than I know. I ended up in that crater there because I challenged him over you. It was my folly, he even decided to simply accept losing a talent like you because you already had a master. Before you go however I have a final gift that should help you out. Just… don’t forget about this old man okay brat?”

When elder Gui finished speaking he held out his hand and lines of soul energy formed along his body as every single vein on his body began bulging out. The mysterious master’s eyes went wide when he saw this as did Naath’s, the former knew exactly what elder Gui was doing the latter had no idea but still felt elder Gui’s life force draining as he performed whatever this was. Naath wanted to run over to stop elder Gui from sacrificing any more of his life force. However the master stepped in and snapped his fingers trapping Naath in a soul energy barrier. Naath slammed his fists on the barrier , but no matter how hard he hit the barrier it didn't even falter.

Elder Gui was still pouring more and more of his life energy into the formation and his eyes closed for a moment before bursting open. Suddenly all of the lines of soul energy condensed in elder Gui’s right hand. It was floating above his palm in the form of a light black sphere. Despite the fact that he was bleeding from all of his orifices, elder Gui actually smiled and used a throwing motion and the orb went towards Naath. As elder Gui threw it the master took down the barrier and the orb went into one of Naath’s soul seas. Naath suddenly gained overwhelming knowledge about soul energy formations and how to use it or train it. After seeing it enter Naath’s mind, elder Gui smiled as blood trickled out of his mouth and he fell to the ground unconscious.

The master spoke up saying, “ah now I just feel bad, he valued you that much kid? He just gave up half of his remaining vitality in order to give you all of his life's accumulated knowledge on soul energy and formations. Don't worry he won't die, he will recover in a few weeks. When you are strong enough to come here of your own power I will guide you to this planet again and you may come back to visit your old master. Now come with me.”

Without waiting for Naath’s response the master grabbed the sleeve of Naath’s uniform and flew directly up with him. In a matter of 13 seconds they had already reached the upper atmosphere of the planet. In another 30 seconds they were at the distance of the planet's moon. A full minute later they were thousands of miles away from the planet. The master began to erect a giant formation array at this point and looked at Naath while he worked transmitting his thoughts through soul energy.

“This is a spatial teleportation array, study it as much as you can while I construct it. This will take some time so you should be able to study it for a reasonable amount of time and figure out about 1/100th of it, if you do I'll reward you.”

As the master smiled and went back to making the formation Naath indeed began to study it. He was able to pick out some details thanks to the knowledge that elder Gui had given him. As he was starting to comprehend it however he heard a rumbling sound from behind him and flashes of brilliant light struck his eyes. Naath and the master both turned around and saw a thunderstorm the size of the entire planet they had just come from. The master went pale as he yelled “Heavenly punishment?!” He began panicking and he looked at Naath and back at the array.

As if making a hard decision he grit his teeth saying, “kid this is going to be risky but it's our only chance!”

With that the master struck down and a tear appeared in space and he threw Naath inside of it sending him billions of miles away to another solar system. The one the master came from to be exact. When they both got there however Naath felt like he had been run over by a steamroller. It was easier to count the parts of his body not broken and damaged than the ones that were. The spatial storm only touched Naath for a single moment yet it managed to nearly kill him. When both of them stepped though they saw the same heavenly punishment waiting on the other side of the spatial tear.
