Chapter 61. Designing a true treasure!

After dinner was over Naath’s father went to his study and quickly wrote up a letter to the head of the Zhang family. It was a letter inviting the family head over to speak with Naath and himself, they would meet and iron out the details of making a dojo and opening a business together. He didn't bother to write a letter to the king as he saw him daily now to discuss various matters. After all, once Naath regained his past memories their family status went right up to the highest gold rank. Their responsibilities and level of information had risen accordingly.

Naath’s family was much closer with the royal family than most though, most nobles would only see the king once a year if they were lucky. Naath’s father almost had to pry himself from the king's side! He would tell the king tomorrow about wanting to open a dojo and reject the king's likely desire to throw money at it to help the Zhu family. He set the meeting with the Zhang family head for one week from now in the early morning in order to give Naath some time to focus on cultivation. After all, earlier this evening he had given a dizzying amount of information.

Three cultivation types, a three gold star method and his own method being unratable. It would make even the experts who had ascended past this world dizzy! After finishing the letter he put down the pen and stretched lazily. After eating so much food even cultivators would feel a little lethargic after. He got up and joined Zhu Ta in bed as the rest of the household soon went quiet as everyone but the guards fell into a deep happy slumber. Naath however let his body sleep and kept his soul awake and crystal clear, he was using an old trick from earth called astral projection. This and lucid dreaming seemed to come second nature to soul cultivators, with this Naath could cultivate his true treasure while also resting his body.

Once his body began to sleep Naath entered his creation void soul. He drifted in front of Alchemy and asked “so, how do I go about making this treasure?”

Alchemy answered with another question. “Have you ever heard of soul crystals?” Naath nodded his head to this question. Seeing this reaction Alchemy continued on, “good, then this will be simpler, making the treasure is similar to when soul crystals are formed. The difference here is purity isn't needed in order to compress the energy into the form you want. However the purer your soul is the better the outcome will be, if you have already formed soul crystals, all the better! The more pure the soul energy the more powerful and the greater your true treasure will become. Another way to put it is, the greater a soul master you are, the greater your treasure is when it is formed.

Of course it can be further refined after and improved as your soul becomes greater. However in the long run it will be much better for you if you were to cleanse your soul now and increase your soul mastery level.”

Naath nodded his head and without a second thought began to run the empty soul method. He was going to run the first part through the entire night and expand his souls as much as possible first. This is what King had recommended after all, with this Naaths mind became empty like the true void and his souls started to grow larger as the outer walls absorbed soul energy. After an hour the souls had formed a cycle, the black soul would draw in insane quantities of energy, after the energy flowed along channels of true void connecting the four souls into the grey soul which would grind down all of the energy into true void energy. It then traveled into the central soul of nothing where it was stored and sent out to all of the other souls to nourish them.

After four hours his souls had grown to 30 times their original size from before Naath cultivated his souls in this life. They continued to draw in and consume insane amounts of energy as outside of Naath’s body the soul mark on his forehead grew clearer and clearer. At the three hour mark the marks on his forehead began to rotate and so did his souls. Alchemy was caught completely off guard, but it was like riding in a carriage, the soul was moving but his position was relative and unaffected. The rune watched in amazement as Naath’s soul began to form an infinite and perfect cycle. It slowly started to rotate faster and faster.

After an hour it stopped accelerating and it was moving fast enough so the colors of Naath’s souls seemed to merge together. The only soul that seemed to not be moving was the central soul of nothing, it was simply rotating the other three souls revolving around it. On Naath’s forehead the mark was moving at the same speed and was becoming more and more clear. Soon it reached the exact same level as when the three nannies had gone mad from seeing it. It showed no signs of dimming either, it in fact became more clear and pure and resplendent. The mark did not emit light but gave the illusion that it was glowing.

The rune inside of Naath’s soul slowly began to comprehend something and it happened so gently and passively that Alchemy almost didn't notice. But when alchemy realised the information flowing into his mind he was beyond words. The information of the void of creation was flowing into his memories! This was an ability of creation that even the heavens could only dream of. This is the kind of energy that could form entire universes and dimensions! Alchemy was shaked deeply and realised it was no wonder his race had never comprehended true void, it involved forces far beyond the level they could touch or even start to understand.

After the eight hours were done Naath’s souls seem to have reached some sort of limit. They could not expand past 50 times the souls original size no matter what they did, they always seemed to compress instead. The space they took up didn't grow but the space inside of them continued to expand. Each soul seemed like its own separate space. The rune was simply numb at this point and said.

“No, of course he can reach the level of dimensional soul in a single night, why wouldn't he?”

The dimensional soul he was speaking of was a level where one's soul seemed to be it’s own world and had an obscene capacity for soul energy. Someone at this level with a single soul would have enough energy to form an array that could encompass an entire planter at the early stages and an entire galaxy at the latter stages. At the end of the eight hours each of Naath’s souls had as much space as an entire continent inside. The soul energy inside each of them was vast and plentiful beyond imagining for most soul masters. Naath opened his eyes and his body woke up as he stopped running the empty soul method.

When he saw the progress of his souls even Naath jumped in fright, this was well beyond his expectations! This was just a monstrous result! Naath felt a headache coming on, every time he thought he had an understanding of his true void arts and their various mysteries he was surprised to find he hadn't even begun to realise how powerful they are. Naath also noticed that his souls were rotating but slowing down now, he found this odd but then noticed the cycle taking place inside of them and between them. He smiled and whispered to himself ‘nothing, creation, attraction, destruction. He seemed to have realised something and he shuddered with this understanding and felt a closer connection to his true void arts.

His understanding of the true void arts deepened at this moment and he felt like he could directly influence more of the true void arts capabilities. Finally after half an hour his souls stopped spinning, the cycle still continued to occur in his souls but at a drastically slower rate. It seemed that now that his souls had formed this cycle and continued it for long enough it would automatically go and expand the space in his souls. It seemed like it would expand them by an inch every year, nothing worth mentioning to Naath but the rune was silently gasping.

After Naath was done observing his souls he got up from his bed and went to the bathroom connected to his room in order to get ready for the day. As he passed the mirror he froze dead in his tracks. There was a mark on his forehead that looked exactly like his souls did! Naath leaned into the mirror looking at the mark and as he looked extremely closely he could even see Alchemy in his creation soul from it! Naath jumped and sent a message to Alchemy to come out and see this! Alchemy wondered what was so important that Naath demanded he come out, so curiously he left Naaths soul sea.

When he saw the mark on Naath’s forehead he spoke “That's it, kid I officially give up being surprised, I've seen too many impossible things on you already. If it’s you I'm not allowed to be surprised anymore! This is a soul mark ah! It’s a sign that your soul has reached a level where you can use it even in physical combat like a weapon using this mark! Yours is a little special thou-” saying this the rune went back into Naaths soul sea and was shaking

He continued “Naath that mark, you need to learn to control it and be able to hide it, fast! Yours is special, it is composed of the purest elements of void, even when I look at your central soul, I understand there is nothing there, not even color, but I see black or white. Void simply isn't meant to be comprehended by mortals or the living even the dead wouldn't try! Even the heavens can't understand it fully enough to see nothing there! If anyone without a strong will or comprehension would become lost in one of the aspects of your soul mark. It would drive them mad and they would be unable to separate themselves from the principles within.

It would drown anyone in the mysteries of the void and render them insane! Here I'll give you a method to control it, it’s not perfect but with practice you can at least keep the mark hidden!”

Naath quickly looked through the information and memorised it. He ran the method and managed to make the mark fade slightly but Naath had to concentrate constantly in order to keep it dimmed. There was a sudden knocking at Naath’s bedroom door and he jumped and hollered.

“Don't come in! It’s dangerous!!!”

The door that was initially opening closed quickly hearing the severity of Naaths tone. After this he went back to focusing and pushing himself to hide this mark, after an hour Naath finally managed to make it fade completely. But he had to focus on it constantly, or it would immediately brighten and reappear. Naath, while focusing, left his bedroom and quickly found his mother and while sweating from the focus asked her for a cloth to cover his forehead. She looked at him curiously but handed him a black piece of fabric that he quickly tied around his head. Finally he released his focus and slumped down sitting on the floor.

His mother gave a worried look so Naath said “Don't worry mother I was just focusing on using a soul art to hide a mark on my forehead. The mark comes from my soul and is dangerous for others to even look at. This cloth will do for now but I need a more permanent solution mother. It will drive others to madness if they see the mark and look for too long.” Naaths mother jumped and simply nodded her head.

Naath smiled and picked himself up and went to his fathers study asking for pencil and paper. Naath took three pieces of paper and began to draw various designs of bracelets all with only one bead on them. Naath began to write down various notes for every one, eventually crossing them out as he went. After a few hours he finally circled one of the designs and nodded his head, it had a string that was blacker than the blackest black. The bead had three layers, the one closest to the string would consist of energy from his true void soul and would seem like nothing is there it would store the energy in the treasure. The middle layer would consist of the grey void of destruction and would grind down all energies and all things into true void energy to be stored in the true void layer.

The outside layer would consist of the pure white void of creation. It would have the ability to produce other beads that would have many thousands of functions. The limit would be Naath could only form a bead for an artform that he understood. After the bead is summoned out it would be recalled back into the one bead on top. The black string was made of the void of attraction and could be separated by a single thought from Naath letting the beads loose. Each bead would transform once it left the bracelet into the best tool or the tool that best represents a certain field according to Naath’s will.

Naath smiled at this design at his creation and decided this was absolutely the treasure he wanted he named it “True void bracelet!” It embodied the true void arts perfectly. The true void arts are capable of absorbing, destroying and creating all things! And this bracelet would follow this and allow Naath to use it for anything he may need in the future! As long as he understands it in its entirety that is. That is the true void arts limit, only what Naath can understand can he recreate. Most of the time he analyzes whatever he absorbs and is able to see through it as it breaks down in the grey void. In this way he can understand and comprehend the things he absorbs, however if something goes beyond his understanding he will be completely unable to recreate it no matter how hard he might try!

After designing the bracelet Naath smiled and burned the paper, having memorized every single detail. He decided to go to the library, the calmest place he knew of in order to form the true void bracelet.
