After sending his thoughts into the soul connection Naath was able to easily talk with Brutus. He first asked, “Brutus can you hear me?” The response was an excited voice happily yelling, “yes, master I can hear you!” Naath had to suppress a chuckle and continued on saying, “good, please ask me any question you have about the whirlwind arts or cultivation. I will try to help you understand clearer.” Brutus went quiet for a moment and then finally spoke asking “Using this method it says to circulate the art and condense even in your body, why?”
Naath smiled and began explaining everything to Brutus about all of the things he could, at the end of it Brutus closed his eyes and began to circulate the whirlwind arts again. After clearing up Brutus’s confusion and questioning, his ability to use the whirlwind arts progressed another step and he was a hair's breadth away from stage two. Naath stood nearby watching making sure Brutus was safe from nearby beasts while he cultivated. After a few days, Naath heard a faint snapping sound and turned to look at Brutus.
Just like he thought Brutus was now breaking through to the early seventh level bone hardening. This time though there was an audible noise that reached out a few hundred feet. Naath nodded happily at this result and waited a few hours for Brutus to finish rebuilding his skeleton. Once Brutus opened his eyes Naath spoke again saying, “Let’s go hunt some wild beasts nearby so you can get some practice in and adjust to your new strength.” Brutus simply nodded and followed Naath deeper into the woods where level seven bone hardening magical beasts were.
Naath used his innate body's ability to hide his aura so the magical beasts wouldn't flee when they felt him. After a few minutes of waiting there was already a lightning python at mid level seven bone hardening striking at them. Naath just sat back and watched Brutus fight, it started with the python trying to sneak up on the two of them. However, Naath told Brutus about it beforehand and they waited for it to strike, the second it did Brutus dodged to the left and turned around biting down on its long body as it shot past. He dropped it quickly because of the lightning energy inside of the snake's bloodline.
After Brutus let go the snake swiped its tail backwards and tried to hit him with it. Brutus jumped and avoided it and as he went into the air the snake turned and lunged at him in mid-air. The snake managed to land a hit on Brutus sending him back down to the forest floor from the air. He got back up almost immediately and charged back at the snake biting into it again. The same thing as last time happened and Brutus let go of it because of the lightning. Naath shook his head and said to him, “Brutus use the whirlwind arts to syphon off its lightning element and use it yourself. Remember the whirlwind arts have the ability to syphon and suck in energy second only to my true void arts.”
Hearing this Brutus immediately stirred the whirlwind arts into action and a small tornado appeared in front of him. An almost irresistible pull came from this tornado as it grew to roughly 6 feet high. The python was dragged in slowly against its will no matter how much it struggled, after a moment it was brought to the eye of the tornado. Once inside its lightning energy began to be forcibly pulled from its body, the python began to panic and squirm and struggle. It released a few small bolts of lightning from its body to try and break the tornado apart. However, once the lightning touched the edge of the tornado it simply followed the wind wall downwards and into Brutus’s body. In a matter of 2 minutes the python gave up entirely resigning itself to death, Naath smiled seeing this.

He spoke up saying “Brutus it’s time to deal the fatal blow, it no longer has any ability to resist.” Brutus nodded and stopped the tornado from spinning, jumping through the dissipating wind storm and quickly biting through the snake's neck and killing it. Naath nodded and said, “Brutus don't forget the whirlwind arts are compatible with lightning and water elements as well. That's why stage five is called typhoon, it can create a monstrous storm that can be used by the practitioner.
Now try to incorporate that lightning energy into your whirlwind arts to reach the thundering whirlwind. After that, you should be able to advance to stage 2 with relative ease, however after stage two advancing becomes far more difficult. Unless we find a water element beast that can control the rain it will be very difficult to advance again and may even take a few years to accomplish.”
Brutus nodded and closed his eyes to work on integrating the lightning energy. As he started on that Naath released his aura again to deter all the nearby beasts. A few hours later Brutus opened his eyes and then summoned the tornado in front of him.
This time there were crackles of electricity here and there, not even remotely at the level the snake used it, just some small sparks and inch long bolts of lightning. Still it was a good start, Naath nodded and said, “good just keep working with the lightning element as well to progress. Some more combat should help with that, let’s go.”
Brutus nodded and once again went to find a beast to fight, this time they came across a rock gorilla. This beast was known to be exceptionally tough with its high defences as well as its strong physical blows. Brutus opted to use hit and run tactics with it.
Wearing the gorilla down slowly over time, after an hour Brutus summoned the tornado again and the gorilla was pulled in. However, the whirlwind arts cannot absorb earth element energy so it simply battered the ape with high winds and electricity. After a few minutes of being inside of the tornado the gorilla was dead and Brutus stopped circulating. Naath nodded his head and began to prepare the gorilla for food as it was around lunchtime. The next few days passed like this Naath and Brutus finding opponents and hunting them. Brutus’s strength slowly rose and in a matter of two weeks he broke into the second stage of the whirlwind arts.
The tornado he could summon now was ten feet tall and had a few feet long arcs of lightning here and there. Once he broke into the second stage of the whirlwind arts his ability to draw in energy also saw a dramatic improvement. A few days later Brutus broke through to early eighth level bone hardening. Naath was happy seeing this but also noticed Brutus had developed a unique physique as well. He asked “Brutus what is the name of your physique? And what abilities does it have?” Brutus spoke happily saying “it’s called the storming physique. It has the ability to use the wind element to speed up my movements. Thank you for giving this gift to me master.”
Naath smiled and pet Brutus on the head, nodding happily at his progress. Naath then asked the rune “hey old rune, what rank is Brutus’s physique can you tell?” The rune spoke up immediately saying “hm yeah it’s… Damn you Naath, you're a freak he has an absolute physique!” Naath smiled at this information and looked at Brutus proudly and then explained how physiques worked to him and what level he had achieved. Brutus wagged his tail happily as he received Naath’s praise and listened intently, memorising every single word. After this Naath decided that they had been training in this forest long enough. He began to lead Brutus to the edge of the forest and trained him as they went in preparation to leave the forsaken place.
After a few days, they began to sense the auras of muscle strengthening beasts once more only this time they didn't cower away. This time Naath planned to fight his way out through them and leave this forest. Elder Gui back on his lake saw this and gently set down his teacup. “Ah, this brat has finally decided to leave. I suppose I should wait to congratulate him on becoming my official disciple.” In the elders’ hall, all of the elders as well as the sect master who had made a chair from martial energy were watching as Naath approached the edge of the forest, after almost a year of his fullest effort to leave it and pass elder Gui’s trial.
