Chapter 0097

Chapter 0097

The Eternal Spirit Guild wanted to suppress the news they receive a lightning mage so monstrous she can speak to the Heaven’s Will without suffering so much a burn from the ordeal.

Tempest tried to say it was the messenger of the Heaven’s Will, not the Heaven’s Will itself, but Kataigida slapped a hand over her mouth to shut her up and said the Heaven’s Will isn’t hard to converse with. That statement earns her glares from the ten elders who block the lightning strike for Revelan.

The sentiment in the glare was the same, “What isn’t hard to talk to! We were nearly burned to death! Next time you take the lightning strike instead of us!”

Cardis, on the other hand, order the Elders to spread the news far and wide. “It won’t be strange for me to accept a monstrous talent for a Successor. Instead, one needs to be a monstrous talent to be my Successor.”

The Elders had to accede to Cardis’ demand when he put it like that.

Revelan came out of the ordeal no worse for wear. In fact, she looked better than before. Her tender white skin had an opalesce sheen to it, bringing giving her already breathtaking face an enchanting aura one can hardly take their eyes off of. Bright blue eyes framed by light green hair streaked with blond literally glowed with uncontained power yet lent her a sunny carefree charm.

She had donned the official mage ensemble of the wind and light element, a dark emerald green outer gown and gold inner robe tied at the waist with a jade pendant containing the symbol of the Eternal Spirit Guild.

She thanked Kataigida for the Bestowment and the subsequent assistance with her Embodiment with a token with her mark. “If you need any help, just crush the token and it will teleport me to you.”

Kataigida took the token as if it was her due. “What will you do now?”

Revelan smiled charmingly at Kataigida and said in a coquettish voice, “I’m going stablize myself by going into secluded meditation for a bit. When I’m done, I’ll follow the age old mage tradition of traveling to the other realm to explore. I’ve never been to the Mysterious Wasteland or the Ethereal Depths and it is about time those old fuddy duddies learn there is another immortal in the Eternal Spirit Guild.”

The age-old tradition Revelan was referring to start with a flirtatious red hair man who just recently into his immortality wanted to explore other realms a bit.

So he set out on a journey like all the stupid hero in the epic stories. He went to town after town, city after city acting like a righteous prick, defending the weak and beating up the strong.

Needless to say his help only escalate the situation to a much more dangerous level. Any weakling would gladly welcome the help of an immortal, except they can’t tell the cultivation level of a mage so they assume he was a random passerby who they can scam or use as a pawn.

The mage had his pride. Those who sought to scam him, he scammed back, those who thought to use him, he uses them right back. “It was what they deserved for being ingrates.” he told the survivors who came for vengeances with their backers/teachers/masters/sect/clans before he killed them.

Those who suffer the most aren’t the scheming bastards who betrayed the redhair man but the people he sincerely tried to help. Every last one of them was helplessly caught in an event above and beyond their powers to resist and suffered terribly in the process.

It had gotten so bad that everyone immortal in the other domain would band together and chase the red hair bastard out. They vowed they would hunt him down and kill him if he were to enter their domains.

The man was quite vexed by his situation. He could put up a decent fight against those old scheming bandit banding together to gang up on him but he couldn’t fight and win against all of them. Ultimately he fled to another domain and the cycle would start all over again and he’d be kicked out of that domain as well.

Unsatisfied with the results, he began to encourage all new immortal mages to explore the other realms. The new immortal mages were not as strong as the red head nor were they as brazen as the man.

Still, a mage is a mage. They are blind to other’s cultivation and other are blind to their cultivation levels. They got picked on by entitled young masters and trouble makers who have good backings. When they beat up said bullies, the bullies come back with their reinforcement which said mages kill since they are practical at the top of the cultivation world. More enemies would come and they would underestimate the mage and get killed.

The new immortal mages get into fights and embroil themselves in conflicts and misunderstanding to the point all realms acknowledge how much a nuiscances mages are and pray a newly ascended mage doesn’t head their way. They have an excellent information network place in Magus Alliance for just that reason. Once a mage becomes an immortal, their portrait as well as their elemental affinities are included in the data and they are immediately placed on the “Don’t mess with” list.

Of course, a certain red head’s effort paid off. Over time it became a tradition for a new immortal mage to ‘explore’ other domains.

Said red headed mage who started the tradition in the first place gave her a thumb up. “Good idea! Have fun in the other domains and if you happen to see the Old Hag Te, tell her I said hello.”

“Will do Cardis.” Revelan bat her eyes flirtingly at Cardis before smiling at Kataigida then heading off to her resident to start her secluded meditation.

The third Bestowment was anticlimactic compared to the first two Bestowment, almost to the point where Tempest would have called it premature ejaculation if Kataigida didn’t stuff a roast leg in her mouth to shut her up.

Kataigida gave the Bestowment to Asclon Burvet, the Guild Master of the Eternal Spirit Guild.

Asclon closed his eyes and start mediating like Revelan did, but since he isn’t in the Mastery stage he didn’t undergo an Embodiment. After an hour or so, he opened his eyes and thanks Kataigida. Like Revelan, he gave Kataigida a token before walking away. He needed to go into secluded meditation to digest the Bestowment.

“Premature ejaculation.” One boar leg didn’t stop Tempest’s random comment obviously.

“What is premature ejaculatin'?” Cardis asked the question on everyone’s mind.

Tempest tightly smiled all the while lamenting the lame sense of humor the Elders possess. They are all perverts to the nth degree. How can they not understand her joke?

“Silly Tempest. Go finish your boar’s leg.”

“But I just finished the boar’s leg you gave.”

“There’s three other boar’s leg you haven’t eaten.”

“Ah, your right.” Tempest left Kataigida with Cardis as she heads for the food table to claim the rest of th boar’s leg for her own.

“I’m finished with the Bestowment.” Kataigida said to Cardis but indirectly announce to the rest of the guild.

Immediately, half the Elders contains the abadon puppy face, all teary eyes and sad, sad whimpers of protest. The other half of the Elders rejoice. They don’t have to deal with another incident.

Granted, Yelin and Asclon will have become an immortal when they are ready, but a revelation, an Embodiment and an elightenment wore out the nerves of the Elders.

The revelation pitted water mages against fire mages and created an enmity between Eston and Cardis, though if Eston man up and confess to Yelin, there wouldn’t be a problem between the two.

The Embodiment ruined a large area of the guild even though most of it were just empty land. They have a place filled with power for a mage to attempt an Embodiment. There was no need to ruin a perfectly good field for nothing.

Worse of all, Kataigida has to chose Asclon for her third Bestowment. Who’s going to run the guild while he’s in secluded meditation? They can already image all the trouble the other Elder aside from themselves will get into. Chaos will ensue without Asclon to clean up after ‘those trouble making Elders’ aside from themselves of course.

“Good. When Tempest is done, I’ll take you two to your new abode and let you settle in before I start my lessons.”
