Chapter 0026
“That princess has no shame, bullying the de facto leader of our group right in front of our faces. What does she take us for? Her servants she can order around? How hateful. Just because she is a princess of the Credule kingdom, she thinks she can do whatever she wants.” Tilda’s angrily recount the rumors spreading about the supposed altercation between Jean and Amber.
Wiminia was used to Tilda’s chatty ways. She developed a method of handling the girl, by ignoring her inane blathering.
Tempest is still in her dazed state, oblivious to the world and the two flies circling around her, or so it seems.
Actually, Tempest is one of the few mercenary who saw the whole encounter though she did not understand the reason behind Amber’s tears nor could she understand how the two can gain tacit understanding of other with just a gaze. The charm seller was sure the two had never meet before today, yet after talking for a moment, the duo’s behavior leaned towards long-time friends, childhood friends, or was it best friends for life?
The spirits knew about the situation, having seen it before in their very long existence. Ventus explained it to the confused Tempest. A karma line emerged between to two, awakening a part of their memories from their previous lives, presumably parts of their friendship and their death.
Back on Earth, Tempest communicated with the spirits through her voice but everyone perceives her actions as hallucinations so she developed a method of talking to the spirits in her mind using a combination of brain waves, breathing patterns and hand signals. She used this method to converse with the spirits. “How did that happen?”
A powerful soul liner can induce the connection.
“Who?”
Aria Se Jivock can do it when she reaches a higher level with her soul cultivation.
“Who else can do it?” Tempest desperately wanted to know. Maybe… just maybe she can see their reincarnated forms in this life.
The Heaven Defyer.
“Where can I find the Heaven Defyer?” Tempest asked hopefully. The newly christen red mage knew it was a long shot but if two life companions can meet each other in this mercenary camp despite astronomical odds and a karma line linked two people together naturally formed when the chances of it happening is less than one in a million, then there is a chance Tempest can see her friend once again.
The Heaven Defyer hasn’t come into being yet. The convergence of the impossibilities is the signs a Heaven Defyer will emerge soon.
Tempest immediately discarded the idea of searching for the Heaven Defyer. She will not chase a possibility. She’d rather focus her effort on a more concrete solution.
“Can Aria Se Jivock form a karma line for me and my friends from my previous life.”
Not as she is. Aria Se Jivock has problems with her soul cultivation so she switched to the body cultivation method of the Heavenly Mountains.
Tempest wanted to pursue the subject but realize an important fact, her friends might not be reincarnated in this world.
Before she could do anything else, Tempest’s arm was grabbed by the motormouth, Tilda, who during her conversation with Ventus decided she wanted to flaunt her newfound power and display her righteous side for the examiner of the test.
“We should teach that haughty princess a lesson. What is she doing, bullying Amber when we have to work together to kill the Sundered Lion? She just wants to show her superiority to Aria and Zhi Hui. She picked the wrong approach though, because I know for a fact the people from the Heavenly Mountains heavily frown on bullying each other.”

With each sentence spoken, the blondie urgently tugged at Tempest’s arm, afraid they will be too late to join in the mass rebuke.
Little did she know, Tempest hated these righteous mob mentalities instilled in the masses. She was quite contemptuous about the cultivators who pose as righteous do gooder while their hearts are blacker than blackest black hole.
This Tilda is a perfect example of the people Tempest never wanted to associate with, judgmental bastards who think the worst about a person despite numerous proofs given. Stubborn, bigoted fools easily lead to slaughter.
To acknowledge the idiots is to give them ammunition for their cause so Tempest perfected a dazed look and ignore the pesky insect.
Still, did the 7-11 have to manhandle her so? Chris Tucker wasn’t so bad. Or was he? It’s been a while since she saw Rush Hour. Or was it Rush Hour 2? Tempest knew it wasn’t Rush Hour 3. That one was lame.
Did the little doggy ever hear of personal space? Drill Sergeant Tilda here to get you motivated. If she spits on Tempest when she opens her mouth Tempest will send her to the dog house. In pieces.
Tempest always wanted to say that.
Wiminia was more tactful than her stupid friend. “Tilda, Tempest is busy with her um stuff. It’s best if you don’t bother her.”
“Tempest isn’t busy aren’t you?” Looking at the slightly glazed black eyes gazing off into the distances, Tilda release Tempest’s arm in a huff and stormed off to join the stupid mobs. “Some people didn’t know what is good for them,” Tilda scoffed in her heart. “When I’m a powerful cultivator, we’ll see who ignores who.”
Wiminia perfect an apologetic look, “I’m sorry about Tilda. She means well.”
Tempest did not respond to Wiminia’s apology either. Did she really think she was able to conceal the scheming gleam in her eyes when she manipulated Tilda into making a fool of herself while she portrays herself as the helpless innocent friend?
Ha!
How many of those lying bastard did Tempest see after she was released from the hospitals? 36 people. 36 people who approach her through various means in order to use her abilities for their own selfish gains. Wait, add her mother and her six siblings to it. 43 people tried to use for their own selfish gains.
Should she add her father into that number as well? If she did, maybe she should add all the people who meant well but was tempted by the money they can get if only they can get Tempest to cheat for them.
Then there are the people who got duped by the con artist into harming her. Should she add them to that number as well? Hmmm.
Seeing that Tempest has no reaction to her heartfelt apology, Wiminia left the red mage to her own devices and followed after her friend.
In this regard, Wiminia was more dangerous than the gullible Tilda. Wiminia knew when to push and when to retreat.
A prudent person is harder to deal with than an idiot.
