Name: Springer
Make: Triple-Changer
Role: Elite Guard Commando
Bio: While most Cybertronians neatly fall under the category of Autobot or Decepticon, triple changers have aspects of both integrated into their programming. This, complemented by their dual vehicle modes, gives them a unique role on Cybertron, allowing them to fulfill duties that no other bot could, and bridging the gap between Autobot and Decepticon society. While most triple changers do ultimately end up relating more with one or the other, Springer never felt comfortable with either. Failing to really find his people, Springer ended up on the outskirts, doing a variety of odd jobs which could, under a less charitable interpretation, be referred to as smuggling.
Springer initially continued as if nothing had happened when the war broke out, but found his services increasingly sought out by the Elite Guard as the Decepticons cemented their control over the planet. The Elite Guard eventually recruited Springer properly, formally bringing him into a conflict he had previously sworn he was above. But in truth, Springer is happy with where he's ended up. He cares about people more than he lets on, and hates watching the Decepticons ravage a planet he had in the past felt so disconnected from. It's a good thing that the Elite Guard actually uses Springer in its limited attempts to counteract the Decepticons, because otherwise they could very well have a defection on their hands. Springer's sense of morality does not include loyalty, and he would gladly join up with Optimus Prime's Autobots if he believed he could do more good there.
Stolen novel; please report.
Abilities: Springer is a triple-changer, capable of assuming both truck and helicopter forms. Both are extremely maneuverable, and able to navigate any terrain or weather. Springer's rough upbringing has also made him handy in a scrap, and although he'd never admit it, he's spent quite a bit of his free time studying and practicing the art of sword fighting.
Although hardly the most powerful Cybertronian, Springer is decently strong, and possesses limited integrated weaponry. Despite this, Springer prefers to fight with handheld alternatives. Wrist-mounted cannons might be nice, but they're no match for a good blade at your side.
Notes: (From Arcee): Springer and I are actually very similar to each other. The others laugh when I say that, but it's true! We both were left behind by Cybertron's reconstruction, and both ended up fighting in a war that I don't think either of us ever expected to be a part of. Springer doesn't make a lot of friends, but I'm one of them. He'll even say so, and that's a lot coming from him!
While Springer might not show it, I know he cares about others. He's always the first to put himself in harm's way, and will even violate orders if he believes it has a chance to save just one bot. And yet despite this he's constantly getting offers of commands, offers which he refuses aggressively. It's funny. Him and Ultra Magnus rarely see eye to eye, but I'd say they're more alike than they are different, despite what you'd think at first glance.
