Name: Megatron
Make: Decepticon
Role: Decepticon Leader
Bio: Manufactured by the enigmatic Constructicons, Megatron is a rare kind of Cybertronian, built instead of "born" from a preexisting protoform. While all Decepticons are machines of war in some way, it is the very fabric of Megatron's being. He found success, glory, and true heroism defending against both Quintesson invaders and despotic Primes, but later found himself adrift and isolated in a postwar society. Cybertron was cut off from the rest of the galaxy, and its now pared down military had no use for a bot as overly specialized as Megatron. He was forced to become a miner, but dreamed of something more, and a return to what he once was.
Megatron eventually abandoned his post, and began to make his living in Cybertron's gladiatorial arenas, including amongst its more vile underground elements. It was here that he met many like minded Decepticons, also lost and cast aside. But more than this, Megatron came to understand Cybertron's increasingly dire state, and blamed it on the treaties negotiated by a complacent ruling class. It wouldn't take long for Megatron to develop a loyal following, and after he took the desolate city of Kaon by military force, the majority of Cybertron's Decepticons flocked to his banner. The ruling council hid away, turning Cybertron's capital province into a fortress, while the Decepticons took almost uncontested control over the rest of the planet. But this suited Megatron just fine, content to condemn the old rule to a slow death, as he turns his attention towards the wider galaxy . . .

Abilities: Megatron is among the most powerful of all Transformers, and his large frame is nearly indestructible. Few can match his skill in combat, and only the largest and most destructive of Decepticons pose a greater threat on the battlefield. He remains skilled with many of the same weapons he wielded across both his military and gladiatorial careers, and his fusion cannon, improvised from an old anti-aircraft emplacement, is always one of the most dangerous weapons in play, overshadowed by only Megatron himself.
Megatron additionally possesses a keen strategic mind, and a force of personality capable of turning what would otherwise be a rabble of dumb brutes and dysfunctional conscripts into an effective fighting force.
Notes: (From Starscream): Megatron is an idiot! He is impulsive and short-sighted, incapable of seeing the long-term ramifications of his idiotic plots, and if someone doesn't put a check on his limitless ambitions, he's going to get himself killed, not to mention the rest of us!
The Decepticons need a new leader, someone cunning and intelligent. Brave, and with an irresistible charisma that inspires the lesser folk to be something greater. Now, if only he could find a way to actually get rid of that overgrown piece of sheet metal . . .
