Name: Mirage
Make: Autobot
Role: Autobot Special Operations
Bio: Hailing from Cybertron’s elite, Mirage administrated the city-state of Iacon before the war. A gregarious fellow, Mirage was well-liked in the social circles he ran, although he would frequently use his unique powers of illusion to avoid encounters with the less pleasant members of his class. In his freetime he enjoyed collecting and piloting rare Cybertronian vehicles, as well as going deep into Cybertron’s wilderness on hunting expeditions.
Mirage was far removed from the problems of Cybertron, including those faced by his city, and did little to prepare it for an attack by the ever growing Decepticon movement. Iacon fell shortly after the siege began, and Mirage was wracked with guilt. He joined up with Optimus Prime and his Autobots immediately after the city’s liberation, hoping to find penance.
Although he means well, Mirage is not well liked by most of his fellow Autobots. He is from a completely different walk of life than them, and that sense of elitism is not so easily shaken. But worse than that, Mirage has a certain fondness for the way things were before the war, a sense of nostalgia for a time that wasn’t so great for the common folk who make up the Autobot ranks.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Abilities: Mirage possesses a wide set of skills, making him capable of long-term independent operation deep within Decepticon territory. He is an expert long-range marksman, as well as a skilled pilot, capable of driving and flying a wide range of vehicles, and even hot-wiring their controls when need be.
Perhaps most notable, however, is Mirage’s ability to displace his image, giving him practical invisibility while also making him appear to be elsewhere. This gift has been honed by Mirage over many years, and has helped make him one of the most useful assets available to the Autobots.
Notes: (From Cliffjumper): I don’t trust the guy. Bots from that high up don’t just come down to trudge through the mud with the rest of us. Oh, he failed to protect his city? Well, a lot of other bots did too, but they died trying. I bet he’s working for the rusting elite guard, feeding them information they can use to wipe us out once our little insurrection is no longer useful to our social betters. And that’s of course assuming he hasn’t been a Decepticon mole from the start. You never know.
