Her name was Anna once.
She hadn’t used it in quite a while, and there were only a handful of people who knew it.
The apostle of the dragon was not one of them.
Which is why she was very surprised when he sent her a message.
Jibsa Jeeves: Anna! I need your help. Send coordinates.
Me: How do you know my name?!
Jibsa Jeeves: Does it matter?! The Dragon Prince is dying, and you owe me a favor from the incident.
She cursed under her breath.
She did owe him a favor, and she couldn’t just let the Prince die.
Me: Only if you tell me how you know my name.
Jibsa Jeeves: Fine.
She was surprised at his immediate answer.
Among the Apostles, Jeeves had a reputation for his mysterious and aloof nature.
She realised suddenly how frightened Jeeves was.
“Teleport!”
She thought that maybe he was frightened of the retribution of the Dragon King if he let the boy die. Or what was even worse for the Apostles, the disappointment and distrust.
She appeared next to Jeeves, and looked for the boy.
When she saw him, she gasped.
He had turned grey, as they were supposed to do when they died, but hadn’t disappeared.
She looked at Jeeves, horrified, and saw him sweating.
She realised with shock, that he was using magic to try to keep the boy from dying.
The full weight of his fear sunk in.
’He thinks his magic did this.’
This was, of course, absurd.
There was no way a spell could have an effect like that.
“You can stop casting. It won’t change anything.” she said, sympathetic to his emotions. If her boss had a child, and she thought she might be killing it…
She shuddered just thinking about it.
She extended her senses, viewing the connection between Dali and his body.
“It could be caused by the capsule,” she muttered, “but I think it’s mental. Yes, it looks like he’s in an Egg.”
Jeeves looked relieved.
“Then he’ll be fine, right, after all, we all went through that.”
“No.” She said.
She didn’t want to give him false hope.
“We knew what we were getting into in advanced.”
“That- that doesn’t change anything.”
He seemed rather struck by her point.
“Also,” she said, “We had Eggs given to us by a known entity. My Unicorn Egg came from the Unicorn, and your Dragon Egg from the Dragon. I don’t know where his came from. There aren’t any beings other than them strong enough to make Eggs. This might not even be the same Egg we know, just something similar.”
She expected his face to fall at that, but instead it lit up.
He smiled and said “Well, I’m glad that you came, but you’ve done all you can. I’ll tell you when he wakes up.”
“If.” she interjected.
“When.” he said firmly. “I’ll be seeing you!”

“Not so fast. How did you know my name?”
He sighed, as he had obviously hoped she had forgotten.
“Gi was my little brother.” he said shortly. “Banish!”
She appeared exactly where she had left.
She was glad he had used banish. He did it so that she wouldn’t have to cry in front of him.
She hadn’t thought about Gi in so long.
It was like trying to sprint after your feet fell asleep.
Gi was always talking about how amazing his brother was. How he wanted to be just like him. She understood them both more now, but at the same time they made less sense than ever.
She thought about Jeeves’s insistence that Dali would survive.
’I can understand that, after what happened with Gi, but if he’s wrong… he might never recover.’

Jeeves watched Dali with impatience.
He didn’t want to have to wait, but he had no choice.
Inside the Egg Dali would accept death and disappear.
Jeeves had cast a spell so that he would respawn immediately and where he was.
Ordinarily, this would not be desirable, because he would still lose a level, and return with eleven percent health.
However, the Egg wouldn’t drain a level, so there would be no problem. It would still take a few minutes after he died for him to respawn, but it was better than the alternative.
He watched Dali closely, waiting for him to disappear.
Dali regained his color.
Jeeves stumbled back, shocked.
As far as he knew, it wasn’t possible to get out of the Egg without giving up your life.
He trembled in anticipation.
This was his master!
He knelt in front of Dali.
“How do you feel, Your Royal Highness?”
“The same as ever, why?”
Jeeves reached out with his senses, looking for a sign that Dali had changed.
That he had been changed, strengthened in the Egg.
He could find nothing.
He didn’t even sense a power that was already there that had been awakened.
He hoped that there was a change that he couldn’t sense. Anything was possible, after all.
“I need to find the monster king.” Dali broke the silence.
Jeeves remembered why Dali had been traveling in the first place.
“Teleport.” he said, and they appeared in the throne room of the monster king.
Dali told the Monster King of the kingdom they had found, and the king rounded up the monsters.
They set off for the city that Dali had found.
“Teleport.” Jeeves said again, and disappeared.
*Ding!*
Dali looked at the pop-up.

Talk to you soon. ;)
He smiled and and closed the window.
“Follow me!” he yelled, and ran through the woods with an army at his heels.
