Select the name of your avatar.
After thinking for a while, he decided.
“Dali.”
Select your gender from male, female or neutral.
“Male.”
“Human.”
“No change.”
He needed to get used to his body, not someone elses.
He also decided to skip the tutorial. He didn’t care about the game itself, and walking wouldn’t pose him any difficulty. He had seen how people walk, and although he was too modest to actually say it, he was a genius.
Although now that he thought about it, everyone he had met so far already knew, so there had been no point in saying it. Maybe if someone really didn’t get the point.
He started in Oerniaeth, which he had chosen to see whether or not he could pronounce it.
He appeared standing next to a fountain. “Whoa,” he said, “I’m pretty tall.”
The other users thought that he had adjusted his avatar’s height, and that he was even shorter in real life, as he was not really tall.
He confidently began to walk.
As soon as he raised his leg, he was unbalanced and fell.
The other users laughed to themselves.
“What a noob.”
He pulled himself onto the fountain and sat there.
After a while of people staring at him, he began to eat the bread that he had found in his inventory, only to find that was much harder than any bread he had ever had before.
Some of the users who had seen him fall over wanted to see what his reaction to the bread would be. Some thought that he would fall backwards into the fountain.
“This is delicious!”
Seung always had had odd tastes.
The users watching were stunned. One suggested that he had never eaten good food before, but the others struck it down, because he would not be able to afford the capsule in that case. They eventually decided that he had noticed them, and was trying to mess with them.
After dark fell the square was finally empty.
Dali tried to walk again. He fell down a lot, and took some damage. He eventually discovered that he took less damage if he extended one arm when falling instead of both, because it transferred his momentum into rolling.
Skill: You have learned Roll
“Skill info.”
Roll: Beginner Lv1 0%
By transferring downward momentum into rolling, you reduce fall damage. (-5 fall damage)
Unlike most skills, this reduces damage directly, not as a percentage.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
Damage cannot be reduced to less than zero with this skill.
What Dali didn’t notice was that a figure had been watching him from the rooftops for half an hour now. The figure darted away into the night.

Dali took another break to eat and give his health some time to restore.

When he closed the stat window he was shocked to find someone behind it, staring at him.
“Whe-when did you get there?!”
She giggled at him.
“I saw you trying to walk, are your legs okay?”
Crap, she saw him making a buffoon of himself. For him, that was almost as embarrassing as being seen naked and he blushed furiously.
“F-f-fine! My legs are fine!”
“Are you sure?” She asked skeptically. “Can you walk?”
“Y-yes. Of course.”
They both waited for a while, and he tried to avoid eye contact.
“Well?” She asked.
“What?”
“Aren’t you going to walk?”
“Yeah, uh, as soon as you leave.”
“I’m not going to leave until I know you’re okay.”
‘Crap’, he thought. He knew she was telling the truth.
“Okay,” he said hesitantly, and stood up.
He took a few short steps forward, more shuffling than walking.
“There.” He said.
When he looked over his shoulder, and was surprised to find that she had approached him.
She gave him a light push, and he fell to the ground taking five damage.
“What was that for?”
“Stand up.”
He began to drag himself over to the fountain, but she stood in his way.
“No. Stand up on your own.”
His attempt to stand up earned him a face full of dirt.
“I thought so.” She said, and grabbed him, throwing him over her shoulder.
‘She’s ridiculously strong’ he realised in shock. He wasn’t as heavy as he thought, but she still was able to carry him like it was nothing.
Eventually she stopped and threw him down.
“Welcome to my place,” she said.
“What on earth do you think you’re doing?!”
“I am going to teach you to walk.”
