Rell was furious.
“What do you mean it’s Paella’s turn next?”
“She won the lottery.”
“But I never got my chance!”
“Yeah, which is why we didn’t take you out of the pool. But you lost your chance. Better luck next time.”
“But that’s absurd! I should be going next!”
“Look, we’ll compromise. She drew the lot, so it’s her turn next, but I’ll let you go before me.”
Rell fumed, but accepted the deal.

Paella had been thinking.
If she wanted to use her skills from Royal Road in real life and vice versa, she would have to incorporate martial arts into her new skills.
She needed to somehow channel her fire into her attacks as well as when she was hurt.
It had taken her a while to come up with an idea for how to do it.
It would take her even longer to make it into a new skill.
She knew she would have to have something else she could use in the meantime.
When the skeletons appeared, there were over a dozen.
The largest number yet.
She pulled out a small knife she carried, although she couldn’t fight with it.
She made a small cut on the front and back of each hand.
She reached for her fire, and pushed it out of the wounds.
A brilliant flame burst out and coated her hands.
She charged at the skeletons, and lashed out, crushing them.
She grabbed one of them by the skull and-

She stopped and stared at the message.
Suddenly a sharp pain roared through her, she looked down, and realised that she had been stabbed by a skeleton.
Her health was below 30%.
White fire seemed to pour out of her wound and blaze around her in an ever growing sphere.
The wound was seared close by the heat.
The white fire exploded, blinding everyone in the party.
When they regained their sight, they saw that all the skeletons had disintegrated.
“Well,” Rell said after a while, “I guess she is a priestess.”
The rest of the party froze at that.
They had forgotten that she was a priestess.
Even she seemed surprised to hear it.
The healing class which cleansed undead from the world.
She had entirely forgotten about it.
This, she decided, would be her style.

Healing fire!
Cleansing fire!
One technique to keep her alive.
One technique to kill her enemies.
The style of a priestess who has mastered fire.

Rell was excited.
It was his turn next and he would finally be able to show the others what he had learned.
After a while he heard a clacking sound
Skeletons!
He didn’t even wait for the others, he simply charged forward.
Nothing was keeping him from his prey this time.
He burst out of the forest, finding that it ended.
There were over a hundred skeletons at the end of the forest.
Dali caught up with him, quickly followed by the rest of the party.
“Whoa. Looks like we’ll have to postpone your turn and deal with these as a party.”
The words echoed in Rell’s mind
“Postpone your turn”
He had already lost his turn once.
There was no way he was going to give it up again.
“No.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“It’s my turn. They’re my responsibility.”
“There’s over a hundred of them!”
“That’s their bad luck.” Rell said.
He charged forward at the skeletons.
He had developed two styles in his training.
He decided to use the one he prefered.
“God of War” he called it.
His first blow hit the nearest skeleton, and released a shockwave through him.
The rest of the party gaped as a single blow killed five skeletons.
Terrible. thought Rell.
He couldn’t get proper resonance from a skeleton.
Had he been fighting humans, that blow would have dropped a dozen.
He grabbed a skeleton, and pulled it between him and another skeleton.
We watched happily as the one in his hands turned grey and disappeared.
He darted forward through were the skeleton had been and crushed another.
His fighting style didn’t look like the fighting of a man.
In the midst of battle his range was longer, and one blow could crush many.
It was the fighting style of the big and the strong.
A style fit for giants.
A style fit for gods.
A style fit for dragons.
