All eight of us are sitting in a circle, in the middle is a small bonfire, because we made the nighttime come quickly. We spent a couple of hours singing and playing many games like rock-paper-scissors, Never Have I Ever, but all of us drank juice because we all had the same life, and more. Since I don’t know how to play any instruments, neither did the others, so all of us did acapella
Hours later, we’re all tired and bored of singing.
“Well, what now?” Vaciva asks. “Do we start now? Or do we do something else first?”
We all look at each other before I spoke.
“Let’s talk about the continent. Show of hands, do we keep the Pangaea continent as one? Or do we separate them into 7 continents? Hands up for terraforming.” I raise my hand, and Dryad, Vaciva, and Arthur do the same, While the others do not.
“If we split this continent into seven, managing humans around the world will be very difficult. It’ll take more than me to do it.” Michael says.
“Same here as well, I won’t be able to protect everyone then,” King adds to what Michael said.
“Making animals all around seven continents will be hard…” Tamer says.
“Hmm… Let’s see… I could just make fishies and more in one place and let them spread around.” Aquarius says, raising his hand.
“Well, that’s that. It’s 3 to 5, with us winning.” Arthur says, clasping his hands together.
“Man… This is punishment! What did we do?” Tamer says, scratching his hair.
“What if we slow down the flow of time in this world? As far as we all know, the speed of time in this world is the same as outside.” I say.
“Great idea, Aleph. How do we do that though?” King asks, looking at me.
“I don’t know… I thought one of us might know.” I answer as I look at their faces. It looks like none of us knows.
“Damn… I don’t think any of us knows.” Tamer says.
“[Create: The Book of Knowledge]” Vaciva says, opening her hands as a book is being constructed with the energy coming out of her hands. “I remember Cere saying something about a system—”
“No! Systems are out of the question. Systems make things easy, yes, but it makes everyone hella powerful! And that’s too boring!” Tamer interrupts, The book of knowledge flies at his face, courtesy of Vaciva.
“I’m not talking about that kind of system, nitwit! Game systems indeed make things easy for everyone, but what about an Admin System, like debug mode for games.” Vaciva says as the book flies back to her hand. She opens it, flipping the pages.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Here, listen. ‘To create a system that allows complete organization and modification of the world. Usually, a system is involved in making a numerical measuring system for one’s attributes, making quests, and character sheets, and creating rewards for its users. This kind of system is called a Game System. Another type of system is the Record System, which records and organizes everything in the world. The Book of Knowledge is an inferior version of a Record System. A more known Record System is the Akashic Records. Finally, a World System or Admin System is a system that is used to organize or modify the physical world. A user interface is created once a system is made.’”
“I see, but why don’t we try changing the flow of time with our powers first,” King says, to which Arthur replies.
“No, We shouldn’t spend too much energy, we don’t know if our powers are infinite or finite. Let’s proceed with the System.” Arthur says, everyone nods in agreement.
“Okay! Let me read more… ‘An exorbitant amount of existential energy is needed to spawn a system of any kind. Additional energy is also needed to modify the system out of the three default types.”
Michael taps my shoulder while the others listened to Vaciva explain.
“Yeah? What is it?” I ask.
“I have a fun idea.” He says.
“Yeah? What?” I ask. He sits in front of me.
“Using the [Create] ability, I can make recording crystals. They’re like one-time use camcorders.” He says while being giddy. Giggling like a girl. Which is very weird to see an old man do it.
“Your point?” I ask, fixing my sitting posture.
“What do you think about making videos with me?” He smiles widely, showing a large, purple, transparent crystal in his hand.
“No thanks, we both know I don’t swing that way.” I shake my head.
“Hell no! I don’t mean those kinds of videos! Get your head out of the gutter!” He says, pinching my sides.
“Ow! What do you mean by that then?” I rub my sides, wincing a bit.
“We’ll make videos of whatever, we can copy videos that we watched, or we’ll make our own story, record it and dig it somewhere for someone to see while digging. ‘Cause, you see, I plan to make humans 6 months from now, I want to have this illusion that there were humans before them, and that I thought I was the survivor of the human race, and that the humans that I will be spawning, I’ll be telling them that I found them in ice deep underground.’” He explains.
“Like a Fallout thing? The cryogen thingie?” I ask as he nods.
“Hm…. Why the hell not? It sounds fun.”
“Hell yeah, it is! We can do the story of Ernest and Magdalene, or Lando and Elsa, or 127 hours?”
“Aren’t all those tragic stories?”
“Yeah, it is. But it’s emotional. Would you like something else for us to do? We can recreate the story of God of War if you like.”
“We’ll do all of it!”
“Really?”
“Yeah, After this. Wanna shake on it?” I open my hand out, and Michael takes it and shakes it firmly.
“Let’s go back to them,” Michael says as he leaves his seat in front of me, going back to his seat in the circle while I turn around to face the circle.
“So uh… How do we make the system?” I ask while scratching my head.
“If you weren’t paying attention, we already made it,” Aquarius says.
“Really?” I say, looking dejected.
“Yeah. It’s kinda disappointing, no bright lights or anything, just a blue window prompt.” Tamer says as he points to Vaciva.
I look at Vaciva and see her with open hands. Above her hands is a blue prompt hovering.
“I call dibs on the System!” Vaciva immediately shouts.
“Not fair!” Tamer cries, Vaciva having a big smug look on her face.
“Don’t be such a baby. We’ll go on a rotation. I’ll go first.” She says, pressing on the prompt like a tablet.
“Righty-o. Let’s all start splitting the Pangaea.” Dryad says, before flying up to the sky.
