An hour later, In the eyes of Aleph.
I’m bored… where are they? They should’ve been here thirty minutes ago.
I’ve already made my house and everything. All that’s left is for them to arrive…
I wonder if I made an impact on them.
I still remember our first meeting, six months ago, they were chasing me because they thought they found another human. I sat in front of the stairs of the doorway of my Hanok (Traditional Korean House). Why that design? I just think it looks cool.
----------------------------------------
I sit down on the stairs of the front doorway of my house, my Illusory Clone, which I learned from King, ran through the open gate of my house, before disappearing into thin air.
A brunette climbs over the front courtyard wall, with her bow drawn, pointing at me, “Lance! It’s not a human! It’s…” She yells, her eyes focused on me.
A blondie spearman, a black-haired shieldsman, and a blondie mage stop in front of the gate, breathing heavily. They get tired easily, huh?
“It’s a monster…” The brunette adds.
That’s rude. You don’t call someone a monster when you meet them for the first time.
“What gave it away?” I chuckled, raising my hands. “Is it the eyes? Ladies do get scared when they stare into my eyes. No, I’m human, just like you all. Just… not the kind of human you’re expecting.”
If my practice with shapeshifting and power concealing went well, they should see a normal teenager in modern clothing, with pitch-black eyes and hair. It took me months before monsters saw me as a somewhat normal being.
The spearman takes out his spear, the shieldman takes the big shield on his back, and the mage readied her staff.
I smile, my hands still raised. “Come on. Enough with the hostility. I come in peace. I wouldn’t want to ruin a good first impression. If I wanted you all dead, I would’ve killed you on the way here. So…” I turn my head upside down like in a horror movie as I clapped, their shadows materialize into spikes, slowly raising and pointing at their necks an inch away. I speak, not with my mouth, but with magic, making my voice be heard in their minds.
"̴̳̤͚̋͝B̴̮̞͎͚̱̈́Ĕ̶͎͉̞̤̘̆ ̷̜̫̣̌G̴̡̨̲̃̽͐͊O̸̩̦͍̯̾̚Ō̶̲͘Ḑ̷̛̖̯͙.̵̡͇͕͓͑͆"̸̣̖͓̟̫͋̀
I look at them. Even with an upside-down head, I could see them shaking and sweating, like a group of teenagers held up at gunpoint. It’s been 3 months since they awoke, and I believe they still have no idea what mana or aura is.
After a couple of seconds, the mage drops her staff, falling to her knees.
Is that… a puddle? Did… Don’t tell me she pissed herself?! Man… Damn…
I fix my head, and I clap, lowering the spikes, and returning them as their shadows.
“See? I ruined my first impression. Please help your friend there. You can clean her up in the bathroom here in my house.”
The spearman turns around and helps the mage up. “N-no, thank you. W-we wouldn’t want to i-impose. W-we’ll clean her b-by a nearby r-river…” The spearman says.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Oh, I Insist. I scared your friend, it’s my fault.” I point to the outer bathroom, I open the door with magic. “There’s water inside. Do you need a new set of clothes, dear?”
The mage shakes her head frantically. She must’ve been very scared. I thought they’d be scared, but not to this extent! If they were scared just because I turned my head upside down and threatened them… How scared did the elves be? I did remember Michael telling me that the elves made a religion, fearfully worshipping me. I’m getting sidetracked.
“Let me make it up for you all.” Standing up, I reach for the door behind me, and open it, before turning back to them. “After you clean Ms. Mage here, please, come in.” I walk inside and open my palm.
“[Barrier]” I chant, as I make a barrier covering the whole house so that they can’t leave.
I immediately went to the kitchen and whipped up some of my favorite foods, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potato, and Spring rolls. I made some rice too, just in case.
I didn’t make them out of magic, I prefer actually cooking them. While I’m cooking, I use magic to set up a rectangular dining table and seats made out of wood in the front yard.
Minutes later, I get out of the kitchen, and to the front yard, with the serving plates, silverware, and plates floating behind me. The four were still feet away from me.
“Come on, eat with me.” I set the table, putting the food in the center of the table.
I sit close to the side of the table, at the very center, as I gesture to them to do the same.
The big guy, the shieldsman, walks to the table first and sits in front of me, I move a plate with silverware in front of him. He takes a couple of pieces of chicken and rolls, and after munching some of them, he gives them a big thumbs up.
“Not a talker, huh? You’re not mute, either. Well, that’s fine.” I smile at him, taking some for my plate.
The archer sits beside the big guy, they seem to be lovey-dovey. I hand her a plate, but she pushes it away.
“No thanks.” She says, sternly. She eats on Biggie’s plate.
The spearman takes a plate from me and takes a couple of rolls, and a heaping of mashed potatoes. He takes the plate, and a chair far away from the table, and hands them to the mage girl. She seems to be very, very scared and cautious. The spearman takes a chair and a plate of food for himself and sits beside the mage.
“This tastes good. A bit spicy though. How’d you make this?” The archer asks.
“If you tell me your names, I’ll tell you,” I reply.
“Hmm. No thanks, then.”
“Awh, don’t be like that.” I take a deep breath. “We got off on the wrong foot here. So, I’d like to start again. I am Aleph The Infinity. I brought you here so we can get to know each other, and possibly, teach you things that would be very beneficial for you. May I know your names?”
Silence…
They ignored me, in my home, eating my food, on my own plates? Personally, I wouldn’t take that level of disrespect. Well, I did scare the piss out of one of them, literally. If I didn’t scare them and they treated me like this? They boutta catch a fade.
“Alright, knock yourselves out. I’m really telling the truth, you know. Hmm… Let me prove it to you.” I take out a compass that I made in the past, with the Minecraft compass in mind. “This is a compass. Usually, a compass tells you where the cardinal directions are, north, east, west, or south. But this compass tells you where my general direction is.” I place it on the table, which the archer takes a closer look at it.
“What are we supposed to do with it?” She asks, still chewing food.
“After three months, I will order a crow to caw loudly, followed by an infinity, my insignia, drawn on the surface of the moon. You can use that to pinpoint where I am, and I’ll be there to answer all of your questions.”
“Okay, we get it. But why should we do it? What reason? You said you wanted to teach us something, but what if we don’t want your teaching?” The spearman says, he seems to be listening to us.
“Right. I will be teaching you many things. Things that you want to learn. The history, how to use mana and aura, how to be proficient in weapons, even the real identity of the old man that’s taking care of you.” I reply.
“Old man Mike?” The mage asks “What do you mean by that?”
“Well, I don’t have the obligation to tell you, but, that old man is not what he seems,” I say. “So, what do you say?”
“We’ll think about it.” The archer says, putting the compass in her pocket.
“[Dispel Barrier]” I say, the barrier surrounding the house dissipates, as they are free to go. “Eat as much as you want, I’ll clean it up after you.” I stand up and get inside the house, and then peeking them from a small hole in one of the windows.
They seem to be packing up the food and bringing them home.
I messed them up, huh…
