Status Report - Vaciva's

Status Report - Vaciva's

“Goodbye, everyone!” I shout one last time, as I see them out of my house.

Now that they’re gone, time to do my other jobs. As much as I want to spend all of my time teaching them, Unfortunately, I have my plate full.

Other than being a teacher, I have to carry on other’s responsibilities outside the tower.

Making sure none of the animals and plants are endangered.

Creating new animals and plants.

Using the system to record new animals and plants.

Filling the world with mana and aura.

Making sure that the underground is filled with materials, beasts, and whatnot.

And making sure that the ruins scattered around the world, floating, underground, underwater, and on the surface of the world, are intact.

Then after that, I have responsibilities inside the tower, overseeing the work of Aquarius and the others.

Is this their way of making me suffer because I did nothing when we were recording the “history” of this world?

I’ll just supervise them today, and do all the other things tomorrow.

----------------------------------------

[The Tower (Name-in-Progress), 600th Floor, Floor of Kingdom Monsters.]

This floor is what would Michael call, a ‘Monster House,’ a floor or a trap that contains an unfathomable number of monsters. Filled with sentient monsters who are already in the medieval age.

One would ask “Hey, Vaciva. How? It’s only been 9 months since the “Trappening” happened?”

I’d say that “Trappening is an ugly name. And It’s because we designed it so the flow of time gets slower and slower as you climb the tower.” Thanks to the brilliance of moi, and the others, we were able to shape the tower in a better condition than we did fake earth.

Because to tell you the truth, there’s not much work that was made on fake earth.

Tamer mixed and matched animals with everything that existed on earth, and mixed animals with all kinds of things. There are Stone Wolves, Crystal Rabbits, Deer Sharks, and uhh Mosquito Ants. To be honest, Tamer is a better monster maker than me.

Dryad… let evolution take the wheel, she made many types of plants and trees, pumped them full of Mana and Aura, and left them, and then she’ll come back to do it again.

Aleph is a special case. We don’t expect him to do any work at all. But he’s there to look out for everyone, although he’s having an existential crisis from time to time. He attentively listens to our requests and learns from them. He’s like a knowledge sponge. He forgets them at most times though.

Aquarius is the only one who was truly diligent in their work. They made sure sea life is autonomous, made multiple habitats, and made a lot of different fishes of different sizes. She also did a lot of terraforming, which no one asked her to do.

Michael… is the unpaid assistant. He understood the system the most, and whenever someone needs help, he immediately comes to the rescue.

King… would be our Data Entry Clerk intern that we don’t pay. Whenever it’s his turn to use the system, we give him mountains of books to enter into the system. These books contain details of every entity we made at the time. Encoding them into the system allows them to appear naturally. Like how Fire slimes would come into existence. Slimes are mostly water or mucus, when they come in contact with fire, they extinguish it. So, in order for slimes to evolve to fire slimes, they need to intake as much heat for a prolonged time.

I, on the other hand, was utterly useless. The only monsters I know are considered aliens. And so Michael and Tamer helped me create monsters on fake earth. Tamer told me that Monsters, in a sense, are sentient beasts with many similarities to humans and so allowed me to copy his monsters. There are Dragons, Zombies, Hydras, Dinosaurs, Manticores, Eldritch beings like Krakens, and more.

On this floor, there is a kingdom of monsters, functioning like an actual kingdom, with titles, status, and money.

Since It’s this high up, strong monsters are the ones staying in this kingdom. From Basilisks, Arachnids, and Evo-Slimes to Dragonkin, Undead, and even Dinosaurs, all strong monsters of all shapes and sizes are here. We have even stronger monsters, like a Fake Hydra, Colossal Furnace, and more, but that’s another floor. Like… Way up.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Since these monsters don’t need to eat or drink, their way of living is through fighting. The more fights you win, the more renowned you would be. Commoners would be the weakest, and the King/Queen would be the strongest. The top changes every 3 months or so.

What am I doing, you might ask? And why am I talking like this? Because Dryad told me if I talk to myself like I’m talking to someone else, I might understand things more.

I am currently watching the quad-annual Arena in the Coliseum. Waiting for Aleph to show up so I can report to him.

It’s kind of boring too. King’s fights with his clone are more entertaining than this…

A portal appears beside me, and out comes the black smoke body of Aleph, his human body barely visible in the smoke.

“What? You still aren’t able to hold your form?”

“That’s because I don’t really understand how to hide my real form and aura. It’s not like some stink that I can wash off. So! The report, please!” Aleph sits on the lavish golden chair beside mine.

“Well, we have made floor 930, the entrance of the real prison, also name’s a work-in-progress. According to the plans the others made, 931-939, 941-949, 951-959, 961-969, 971-979, 981-989, and 991-999 will be “Lore Floors” for Arthur, Dryad, Aquarius, Tamer, King, Arthur, and Mine, respectively, in that order. And 940, 950, 960, 970, 980, 990, and 1000, Will be Boss Floors, inhabited by us, in the same order. And Floor 1001 will be yours. As details of you will be scattered all over the tower, along with a piece of an emblem, collecting them will open your floor, granting the climbers some time with you. Either to fight, talk, or negotiate with you.”

“Okay, I like the sound of that. Just to make sure I got everything correct, I mean everything, not just your report for today, what’s the theme or composition of the floors from floor one up to floor 930?”

“…Sigh. Alright.” I summon a small portal to my temporary floor, floor 608. I take out a stack of papers, containing detailed information about the built floors. Did he forget or something? I swear to myself, I’ll cram these papers down his throat if he asks for them next time.

“Floors 1 – 100 are beast themed. Common beasts such as Stone Armadillos, Three-horned Rams, Stone Monkeys, Acid Rats, and the list goes on, are stationed on those floors. Safe Floors are placed in the interval of 10 floors, starting from 5, then 15, and so on. Floors 10, 20, and so on, up until 90 will be Mid-Boss Rooms. Floor 100 is a boss room that has changing bosses from time to time.”

I flip through the pages one by one, skimming the contents and summarizing them for him.

“Floors 101 – 500 will be Elemental Themed. Floors 101 – 200 will be wind/storm themed. Wind Monsters are stationed there. Floors 201 – 300 will be Earth-themed, and Stone and Metal monsters are contained on these floors. Floors 301 – 400 will be Fire Themed, containing lava and lava monsters and the like. And finally, 401 – 500 will be water/snow themed. Water, Ice, and Snow-Type monsters roam these floors. Just like the last theme, Floors 105, 115, 125, and onwards will be Safe Floors.”

“Floors 501 to 550 will be civilization themed. Tribes are the obstacles for Floors 501 – 510. Towns are for 511 – 520. 521 – 530 contained– “

A sudden cheer fills the Coliseum, that drowned out what I was saying. I waited a bit until the cheering stops, before continuing.

“521 – 530 contained Cities. 531 – 540 contained Estates and 541 – 550 has Counties. Since it is themed, there will be hints towards the next set of floors, each set.”

I make sure to glare at him from time to time, making him feel my seething rage! Or something. Aleph, the others, and I can’t really get angry, or any other emotions. We just think we actually are. I figured it out when there was a debacle between Aquarius and Tamer, that seemingly got fixed after a few seconds.

“Floor 551-600 will be just one enlarged floor, thanks to space distortion magic. It will be a continent that contains the tribal villages, cities, towns, estates, and counties that were shown in previous floors, forming an entire kingdom.”

“Floors 601 to 800 are random floors. They are floors that will randomly show up between floors when climbing the tower. Puzzle Floors, Parkour Floors, Trap Floors, Treasure Floors, and all kinds of floors that are outside previous themes are contained there. Merchant Rooms, Forge, and Alchemy Rooms owned by Arthur are also stationed there, which shows up after every mid-boss and boss floor.”

“Floors 801 to 900 are empty floors. We have designed it for when other beings like us appear in this world, and whether they are evil or not, they will be contained there. But for now, it will be a maze prison theme, which will give climbers paranoia, and anxiousness, making them feel as if someone is following them, or that there is someone watching them.”

“Floors 901 to 929 are basic-non monster floors, showing the events before the tower was built. Vaciva’s Jealousy, The Betrayal of Dryad, Aquarius and Tamer, The Summoning of Aleph, The life before the war, the scene we have recorded.”

“I already told you about 930 to 1001. Of course, if there are more entities showing up, or if our children got wind of this and wanted to join, we will need to make more floors for them.”

I throw the papers back into the portal, instead of putting them back gently, and Aleph seems to smile at me.

“So? What next? Do you want to know what monsters or races Aquarius, Dyad, Tamer, and I made? Or what?”

“I’ll get to that later. I’ll have to report to King about the complications about the First Four.” He says as he pulls three books out of a portal he made.

“Three… Where’s the other one?”

“I already gave it to Sara, the Mage. She’s quick to learn. So much so that she’s making us speed up our plans.”

“You said something about a complication. What about it?”

“Later, when we meet King. You’ll be there to listen anyway.”

“King is on Floor 980. Watching the Jackie Chan movies Michael made with his memories.”

“Let’s go!”

“Why aren’t you opening a portal? I thought when it comes to portals, you’re the best?” I tease him.

“Oh, shut up. You know I can only open portals to places I’ve been, and places I can see.”

I chuckle a little before opening a portal behind us. “Right.” I smile widely.
