“Water, become cold, quench and refresh us. [Water Stream]”
I felt the condensed mana next to my heart or my Mana Heart extract mana, and out of my body, before liquifying into a long stream of cold water that rotates around me.
“Guys! Water’s ready!” I shout, as I palm a part of the water stream and drink from it.
It’s refreshingly cold. It’s not that cold, and in a hot environment like the desert we’re on, I’m impressed that the temperature remained the same.
“Are you sure that’s cold? The last time you did something, you burned us.” Ana says, slowly moving towards me, clad in head-to-toe protective clothing.
“That’s… The place was cold! You wanted something that will warm us! It’s your fault you didn’t want to wear the coat Mike gave us!” I retort. She kept pestering me that she needs fire to work in cold weather, so I gave her what she wanted, It’s just that I wasn’t thinking about the spell well, and it burst.
Speaking of weather… The weather and biomes of this land are very weird and wonky. One day we’re in a rainforest, another in frozen crystal plains, then a desert, what next? Mountains made out of trees?
Atlas takes a sip and gives a thumbs up to Ana, and she does the same. I wonder how Atlas can handle this sweltering heat, carrying a giant shield, and two small ones.
“Thanks for the water,” Lance says, drinking the water, while Michael drinks from his own gourd.
“Don’t rely too much on Magic, Sara.” He says. Look at this hypocrite, he’s filling his water gourd with my water.
“I’m not,” I say, as the rest of the unused water, falls to the sand.

“While Magic makes things easy, relying on it will lead to bad consequences.” He says, setting his gourd before putting his cowl back on.
“I know, Mike. You keep saying that. I’m not relying on it. I swear.” I put mine back on too as we continued trekking through the desert, a large wall of trees can be barely seen from the distance, and the tower behind It, piercing the clouds.
“I keep saying it because you need to keep remembering it. Oh, We’re close now, only a few more hours, and we can take a rest. See? If we left early, we wouldn’t need to sleep in hot sand.” He says with a smug grin.
“Why are we going back again?” Ana asks, sitting over Atlas’ shoulders, and looking at Mike.
“Did you not listen last night?”
“You know the answer to that, chief.” She winks at Michael.
Michael sighs and palms his face, as Lance answers in Michael’s place. “We’re going back to the outskirts where Mike found us, underground, just outside of the tower because it’s time to stop being nomads.”
“I don’t get it.” She says, scratching her head.
“Of course, you don’t. You only have air in your head. It means we’ll stay on the outskirts of the tower.” I say, I also laugh, which made Ana glare at me. Try me, bitch.
“Say that to my face, Sara. Thanks for the explanation.” She says, before getting off Atlas and walking herself.
It’s been 2 months since our third meeting with Aleph. With the help of Ana, we tried to track him, and find him where he is, but we found nothing. The reason why we did that, is because of something Aleph said about how Mike told the story of the 7 Primordial Divines, The Outer Human, and the Tower.
Aleph seemed to know who Mike is. Despite being with Mike for almost a year now, there’s not a lot that we know about him. All we know is that he is a survivor of the war, nothing more.
I plan to talk to him and get the truth out of him. And from the looks of it, Lance wants to know the truth too.
I just need the right timing and the right words.
