Whispers were heard throughout the guild hall’s cafeteria and sometimes auditorium.
Times like the present when guildmaster Medowsong had called a general assembly and everyone who could make it was required to attend.
“Do you think it’s for you-know-what?” whispered River.
“It has to be,” replied Edwin, “word’s gotten out and we’re not the only ones who’ve gotten new equipment.”
“Or lost it,” Odez added.
“I hope the cats are okay,” muttered Morgana.
The whispering quickly came to a halt as the guildmaster made her way to the front of the room where the acoustics were the best.
She cleared her throat and promptly addressed the crowd, “as many of you are aware, a new dungeon has appeared in Harmony city. For the few of you who aren’t aware, this dungeon would technically be classified as an intelligent cooperative dungeon with an interesting take on things. Instead of building traps and spawning monsters, this dungeon has decided to open a casino.”
The crowd began to whisper and murmur again as the guildmaster paused for a moment.
“I’ve noticed several of our members have suddenly been registering new and interesting pieces of equipment,” Amanda continued, “I’ve also noticed a sharp uptick in the number of requests to delay membership dues.”
Several of the delvers suddenly seemed to find something else to look at besides the guildmaster on the off chance that she would meet their gaze.
“Normally, protocol dictates that a scouting party be sent in to investigate, but due to the nature of how our members have been conducting themselves so far inside this dungeon, I’ve elected to refrain from our usual protocols and instead monitor the dungeon from the outside. Additionally, I’ve elected to ban gambling at the dungeon to prevent further loss of equipment and delayed membership dues. An official memorandum will be sent out in the following days. If you need clarification or have further questions afterwards, you can contact me through the usual channels. That will be all,” the guildmaster finished before walking out of the cafeteria.

Discussion immediately broke out among the delvers in a dull roar before eventually fading the further she walked back to her office.
“A rousing speech as always guildmaster,” Cecil said as he began to follow her, “although I couldn’t help but notice that there wasn’t really any mention of disciplinary actions. Or will that be covered in the memo?”
Amanda just grinned.
“Cecil, you know as well as I do that it’s going to take much more than a simple ban to prevent a delver from exploring a dungeon,” she explained.
“Ah, so the guild is just covering it’s own ass, as it were,” Cecil concluded.
“Dungeons are also our greatest asset when it comes to magical equipment and treasure. It’s always been a metaphorical gamble to send a delver team into a dungeon. Now the gamble is a little more literal. It’s honestly refreshing to have an honest dungeon for a change,” the guildmaster explained.
“Have you come up with a designation for the dungeon yet? We can’t just keep calling it ‘the dungeon’. And please don’t tell me that you’ve called it the Harmony City dungeon or something drab like that,” Cecil prattled.
“Actually, the last pice of paperwork involves giving it an official designation. Any suggestions?” asked the guldmaster.
“Well, normally the honor of naming a dungeon goes to the first person or group of people to stumble upon it. As it happens, the locals of the area have taken to calling it The Lucky Cat Casino,” Cecil explained.
“The Lucky Cat Casino,” Amanda said as if trying the name out, “that should make for an interesting submission to the council.”
“Oh, the council. Yes, I suppose we’ll need to tell them about it eventually. I do not envy you and the inevitable bureaucratic nightmare that this is going to cause,” Cecil said.
“Don’t remind me. I’m getting a headache just thinking about it,” Amanda sighed before parting ways with Cecil and returning to her office.
