Lena's eyes flashed with red, as she assumed a fighting stance, with her fingers spread wide like she was gonna use her fingernails to claw open somebody's face. A surprising fury twisted her face, which scared Trevor, causing him to step back, and his both hands, like he was surrendering.
- W-wait - he squeezed out.
Keeping his eyes on her, he slowly approached the door.
- Who's there? - he asked.
- Martin Winchester. I'm looking for Miss Lena Karcrow.
The familiar voice made her relax, just as suddenly as she assumed her fighting stance, and her whole physicality returned to normal. Trevor opened the door, revealing the professor standing behind it with a warm smile on his face. He moved slightly to the side, to peak at the girl behind Trevor.
- I see that you two are getting along - the teacher pointed out. - At quite a fast pace, I have to say. You've already managed to lure Miss Karcrow to your room, mister West. That's not something I expected from you. You are surprising me.
He ended up winking at the boy. Trevor's face immediately started to burn.
- I-its nothing like that. We are just. We were just... Talking and...
- He is making fun of you - Lena pointed out from behind his back.
- I, in fact, am doing so - Martin agreed, then took a step forward. - May I come in?
Trevor moved to the side, making space for the professor, who squeezed in and entered his room looking around curiously.
- What is it about? - asked the Girl, making the man focus his eyes on her.
- I would like a little help from you with... With the thing, we discussed in the past.
- You succeeded? - she seemed really surprised.
Professor peeked over his shoulder at Trevon, and then at the still-open door.
- Mister West, do you mind closing the door?
Trevor immediately did just that. Martin's focus switched back to Lena.
- Yes. Well... Partially. It's still far away from being remotely useful, but it is progress. I just need a bit of guidance, to move in the correct direction.
- I'll help you - she stated, then glanced at Trevor.

This caused the professor to turn a bit, so he could look at him too. For a moment, he kept switching his attention from him to her, but eventually, his eyes focused on the boy.
- I'm afraid we will have to gonna kill you, Mister West - said the professor with a serious face.
- W-what, why? - escaped Trevor's mouth, as he took a step back.
- I'm just joking - said the teacher, and immediately smiled. - You should have seen your face.
Lena rolled her eyes but remained silent.
- How good are you with keeping secrets, Mister West? - asked Martin.
- Good I think - replied the boy quite slowly, still too confused with what was going on.
- Very well then. I'm willing to share my little secret since Miss Karcrow here seems to trust you. It looks like you have a positive influence over her. It was the first time when I saw her fierce temperament being contained - as he spoke, the corner of his mouth twitched.
He was clearly trying his best to prevent himself from smiling.
- Shut up - hissed the girl.
- I'm sorry, but I just find it too funny - he confessed, glancing briefly at her again. - So Mister West... Do you want to see something interesting?
Trevor looked at Lena like he was waiting for some type of signal to either confirm or deny. She didn't give him any, instead just sighed, got up, and marched between the two of them straight to the door, to then leave the room. She didn't wait for them at all.
- Are you coming or not? - she asked from outside but didn't slow down.
- I guess the decision was made for us - said the professor, and followed the girl without any more delay.
Trevor didn't move at first. He was confused about the whole situation and unsure if they invited him to tag along, or not. There was no time to think though, so he just rushed out of the room, pushed by curiosity, closed and locked the door behind him, to then run to catch up to the two others, who already made it to the staircase.
He joined them quickly, and all three left the dormitory.
- Where? - asked Lena, as soon as they got outside.
- My laboratory - answered the professor.
She led them to the main school building, and then to one of the doors that was connected to the corridor, leading to a staircase to the basement.
She clearly knew the way very well, as she didn't hesitate throughout the whole time even a little bit.
They took a few turns and passed by the defense against the magical arts classroom, to finally end in front of a different type of door, compared to the ones they saw on their way.
It was massive and definitely heavy since it was clearly made out of metal. Black, with complicated geometrical shapes interconnecting with one another, made out of the familiar Haddish signs. Lena stepped to the side, making enough space for Martin.
He came forward and placed his hands over the dark surface, almost touching it. They both flashed with cold silver light, as he began to move them around the surface. Tracing some of the geometrical shapes, and avoiding the others. There was clearly an order as to which ones he was following since he was switching between particular parts of the door.
Trevor observed his every move with an open mouth, as he have never seen something like that. Even the hair on his skin was reacting to the strong presence of magic in the air.
- It's quite strong protective magic - explained Lena, as she noticed his awe.
After almost a minute a loud metal clang reached their ears and the door started to slowly move with a high-pitched groan.
The professor took a step back, to not block the path and probably to avoid being pushed by the heavy piece of metal anyway, as it seemed to be opening by magical means.
- Amazing isn't it? - asked the teacher, as the door slowly revealed a chamber hidden behind it. - It took me years to create, but now it's working rather fine.
Trevor couldn't find any words, to reply, so he just nodded.
