As one of the two high kobolds who was not participating in this campaign against the necrotic energy in the region , I thought I should do something to help the troops. Originally three of us were going to stay behind but I heard Phyllis practically begged nonstop before the great dragon relented and let them join. That one can be so single minded in her goals sometimes. So anyways I went down to ask the great dragon for ingredients.
“So why do you need extra ingredients?” The great dragon said into my head
“I am thinking of preparing a banquet to help raise morale.” I responded,
The Great dragon pauses for a short while before saying “Very well. What do you need?”
I gave her my list of ingredients.
“Cooking Italian now are we? Well, have fun with that. I need to finish up the rest of the equipment. So try not to bother me unless it is important.”
The great dragon sent the extra ingredients to my kitchen and then got right back to what they were doing. I then go there myself and start cooking. I do have to say that this kitchen is quite impressive. I can cook a dozen different dishes at once and still not use all of it. As I look out my kitchen window into the main mess hall and see that I have attracted an audience. Well that is not surprising. I am quite impressive as a chef as I'm currently cooking a lot of dishes. The audience is constant of recruits 8, 31, and 46. Perhaps if they survive this ordeal I will offer them an invitation to join my kitchen. Shortly after this I finish and the banquet begins.

While I'm eating in my kitchen by the window I spot a familiar figure across the mess hall: Aurora. Man she looks so graceful now eating can you believe that she scarfed down that pizza we got before we were high kobolds. Oops, she must have caught on to what I was thinking about because she’s glaring daggers at me. I’ll stop because she'll kick my ass if I don’t.
The next ones I spot are Alfred and Silvanus together. Alfred seems to be scolding Silvanus about telling off some of the recruits. Man, Silvanus is such a hard ass. To be a leader you need to have a little flexibility but he's just about as stiff as a board. He really needs to loosen up some more. Meanwhile Alfred is worthy of quite a bit of respect. Despite being the same age as all of us high kobolds, he seems so much more wise. I wonder if that is not part of his skill. He would make an excellent leader but he says he is better suited for the advisor role.
The next one spotted was Phyllis; she had a few recruits around her. I believe the recruits around her were 19, 26, and 60. They were talking about potential theories about the sources of the necrotic energies. It would seem that she was already drawn in some recruits to her group like me. Me and her get along quite well due to our personalities being quite similar. Not far from here was Persephone surrounded by recruits. She is quite clever, putting on that cutesy persona. It fools most of them into acting the way she wants but not me. I know that out of all of us, she is the strongest, only rivaled by Alfred when fighting him for a long time. But it is nice seeing her not as aggressive.
While I had been looking at my colleagues I hadn't seen that I was approached by recruit 46 again. Shen got my attention and then gave me a slice of pizza. I smiled at her and patted her head. She walk away without a word, cheeks filled with red. I hope she survives the coming battle.
