As 418 starred out at the rising sun, they felt at peace unaware of the world stirring at their very presence. For just shy of an hour they were just taking in the sights before ultimately consulting Guide on what to do next. Guide’s response however was not quite what they had expected.
“About 300 feet up there is a large opening that would be a good spot to use as a basis for where to lay out your town. Though I recommend expanding up to it. However I also recommend caution as that area also seems to be the source of the high amount of necrotic energies in this region.”
“That seems very prudent…” responds 418. “Do we have any idea what is causing this?”
“I’m uncertain about exactly what it is but I can theorize based on the information I have that it has something to do with the spires’ name.”
“The Spires’ name?”
“Yes, the spires’ name. It is called Rothgur’s tyranny. The dwarfs were said to live in the ebonspines a very long time ago until they had to abandon them due to a calamity. At the same time this spire was named after their most tyrannical ruler. While there is no evidence, it can be assumed that he was the cause of the great calamity. Though the only thing that is known for certain is that the calamity that affected the dwarfs has left the area laden with necrotic energies.”
“Huh well with that name and the high amounts of necrotic energies suggest that there is a high chance of undead in that area. It is probably for the best if we expand our forces in case the undead invade us. Assuming there are any undead.”
“That is very likely as your ambient mana will draw the nearby mindless undead to you.”
That bit of information for sure made 418 certain about creating an army. So 418 began the process of creating a standing army for the dungeon. The first thing they did was approach their recipient knight commander.
“Silvanus, I’m seeking to go after the source of necrotic energies in this area. Im will be granting you forces. How many recruits do you think you can realistically handle?”
“Great Dragon, you honor this humble knight. I think I could handle about 60 in command.”
With that estimate for the knight commander, 418 got to work creating the forces that they’d need. They created the sixty kobolds for Silvanus to command. As they were likely going to die in this upcoming conflict, so 418 told Silvanus to tell them that any who survive will be granted a name. Anyways of the 60 kobolds summoned, there were an equal number of males and females. With all of that summoning, 418 reached both level 4 their dungeon job and level 3 on their race. This granted them a sort of copy and paste function for rooms. Besides summoning the kobolds, 418 also summoned ten monsters through the gacha. This caused their dungeon master job to increase by 1 level. Of these ten, three were instantly transferred to the summon bank due to the lack of a water source that could house them in the dungeon. Those were a kraken, a sea-serpent, and a mermaid. Of the remaining 7, 418 decided to level 3 to guard the lower floors along with Rook. They didn’t think Rook really needed the help but, it was better to play it safe than be sorry later. The ones who were left to guard were a wyvern, a white wolf with the power of ice called a skati, and a giant salamander. While 418 thought for a second about bringing the salamander due to its ability to use fire, they decided to bring the other fire monster that they summoned. The 4 gacha monsters that were brought were a fire elemental, a hag, a dullahan, and a lesser vampire. The fire elemental looked like a person that was made of fire. The hag looked like an old woman. For a second they thought they saw a beautiful white haired woman, but a second glance confirmed that it was just the old woman. The Dullahan was tall, wore a set of black armor, rode a horse as dark as the night sky, and wielded a whip that looked suspiciously like it was made from bones. The vampire was a lot different then what 418 was used to. He looked like death. pale and scrawny, he had very little to him that one would consider human. He was very animalistic and seemed to act mainly on instincts. 418 supposed this was due to the fact that he was a lesser vampire. Anyways 418 decided that they wanted these ones for later, so they granted them names. The fire elemental was given the name Prometheus. The Hag was granted the name Yaga. Jack became the name of the dullahan. And lastly with much hope of what he would become the vampire was given the name Dracula. They weren’t made bosses as 418 wasn’t sure they would survive. Thus the army was created.

After the army was established 418 realized that they did not have a dedicated space for all the new kobolds. While there was plenty of space for the kobolds on the current floor, 418 figured it would be better if they had their own space So they did some work to start building upwards. First they added 8 more tiles to the entrance then built two hallways that connected to the old hallway farther back. After that, they removed some of the old hallway from the entrance to where the new connection met up with the hallway. Lastly 418 started building up and at 100 feet they stopped. This was where they were going to build the place for the new recruits, the high kobolds, and the hag. Over the next three days, they established what would eventually become the headquarters for their imperial guardsman. They established 2 sets of rooms based off of what 418 thought army barracks looked like. Each barracks was a set of 2 rows of 15 bunk beds. That meant in total the current area could house 120 kobolds not including the rooms for the others. Besides the 6 other rooms for the high kobolds and the hag, 418 also built a mess hall based on what they remember a cafeteria looked liked. This, of course, came with a kitchen where Cerus did their cooking and a storage area that housed the ingredients for cooking. Cerus had gotten very good at recreating recipes from earth. The last thing added was a training area. It was made from a cavern room and had an area of an astounding 600 sq. ft. With this done it gave the kobold their own quarters.
Once the quarters area was complete, 418 realized there was one last thing they needed to do before ascending. So they established a staging area for the army and started building stairs upwards. And as they climbed higher the air in the area grew more stagnant and the stench of death grew ever closer.

Kobolds are species of reptilian monster that can wield tools and weapons. A single kobold in the wild can be dangerous if it catches you unaware. However they aren’t a threat to any experienced adventure alone. However the more of them there are the more dangerous they become. As kobolds are creatures that follow a strict hierarchical society, the best way to scatter a kobold swarm is to kill the one at the top of the chain. Doing that will cause them all to flee. However if you see a High Kobold, do not engage. A high kobold is special and suggests that they are following a more superior being. Also they are quite dangerous, being a threat to most adventurers, save for veteran adventurers. Do not kill any kobolds near them or else you're in for a fight you're going to lose. And under no circumstances should you kill a high kobold as that is likely to draw the ire of whatever created the high kobold. -Adventurers guild monster guidebook
