During the week, Jack, Mary, and Yune stayed in their homes to lay low. Meanwhile, Anne and Nina actively hunted for Night Demons. Throughout most of the day and nights, they took out their frustration of losing Kira on the monsters. They blamed them for their loss and were relentless in hunting. As they fought, Nina didn't feel any better. She still felt that she was responsible for losing Kira. And as their leader, she took that responsibility to heart. The guilt within her wouldn't fade away.
However Anne felt something else. She felt a sudden feeling of bliss whenever she fought another Night Demon. And even more when she won. After losing Kira, she felt the need to fight - the need to keep fighting. However, she also felt something else stir within her, but couldn't quite make it out. But she did feel relied as she fought, and so she continued to do so.
Nina only continued to follow as she didn't want to lose Anne. It looked as though Anne was leading, now. But neither of them thought that way. Anne still respected Nina and vice versa.
The monsters mostly came out at night, or in dark alleyways and abandoned buildings.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
But there was one that surprised even them. One Night Demon that was more reckless than others.
In the middle of the day, the Night Demon attacked a couple at the park in front of so many people. It didn't feel the fear of being out in the light. It had pitch-black fur and looked almost like a werewolf. It's eyes were sleek and red.
When Anne and Nina arrived, they saw the Night Demon chewing on the couple's thyroid.
It roared as the other park-goers ran for their life.
"What the hell? So out in the open?" Nina thought aloud.
It roared and quietly spoke under it's breath.
"Why didn't you choose me?" it said quietly as it chewed with a smile showing it's grotesque teeth.
Anne and Nina couldn't hear the monster from where they stood. If they did, it would have been the first time that a Light Guardian heard a Night Demon spoke.
Anne and Nina quickly dispatched the monster. It resisted by flailing it's claws around. It as able to get a few hits in, but was defeated in the end. It would have been faster if Kira was there, both Nina and Anne thought.
As they fought the monster, they were only reminded about their loss. The team felt incomplete. And that was the last monster they fought before heading back to their homes in silence.
