82.Venting anger

"You dare to use a gun! You're finished, wait to go to prison!" Li Xulong, the lackey, started hurling curses at me.

I immediately smashed the butt of my gun onto his face, turning his already pale complexion even darker. "Cut the crap. Tell me, is Hu Yijian still alive? Did you rescue him?" I asked straightforwardly.

"No need to ask, idiot! Don't get too cocky; Brother Jian will avenge me. We have over ten people. You think you can go against us? You, this useless loser, back in the city, we could have taken care of you with a word. Now is no exception!" Li Xulong roared.

I scoffed at his words. Over ten people? Did they think I was as foolish as they were? Even with over ten people, they still had to resort to sneaky tactics? However, Li Xulong's words did make me wary. I could roughly guess what had happened. Hu Yijian must have encountered something after falling off the cliff. Somehow, he survived and ran into this group of people, including Li Xulong. Li Xulong, accustomed to being Hu Yijian's lackey, continued serving him even on this desolate island. I suspected Hu Yijian promised them a share of whatever wealth awaited outside the island.

"You scum, you're nearly done!" Li Xulong glared at me with resentment. He clearly knew he wouldn't survive much longer and was only hoping to get in a few last curses.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Does cursing make you feel good?" I sneered, recalling how this lackey used to threaten people with a few hooligans by his side. Several classmates and I had been threatened by him back then. As ordinary students, we could only endure, swallowing our pride and tears in the face of these gangsters.

But everything had changed on this deserted island. Without a word, I swung the butt of my gun again, hitting him in his dog-like face. His teeth shattered, and blood bubbled from his mouth.

"All I know is that I'm about to kill you, just like playing a game!" I coldly stared at Li Xulong. "I'll ask you once, where are your people hiding now?" Time was of the essence; I had to resolve this quickly, or I might not escape when the wolves arrived.

"You think I'll tell you, little bastard?" Li Xulong, with his mouth bleeding, still attempted to curse at me. I kicked him fiercely with my foot, causing him to howl in pain. "You scum..." he attempted to insult me again, but I silenced him with another brutal strike of my gun.

Seeing Li Xulong in this state, I knew he wouldn't reveal Hu Yijian's whereabouts. Disgusted, I decided not to inquire further. Instead, I mercilessly beat him, making him scream in agony.

"You used to be so arrogant, right? Continue being arrogant today! Serving as Hu Yijian's lackey, bullying and oppressing others—truly a beast. Posing as a big shot, like a wolf with a big tail. Ridiculous!" In the end, I tied him to a tree, spat on his face, and left without another word.
