71.Searching the inside of the aircraft

"Peggy, do you recognize this type of plane?" I asked Peggy.

"I don't know. I've always felt this isn't from our rescue team," Peggy replied.

Feeling alert, I stopped everyone, "Wait, let me go in first. I'll call you if everything's fine!" I halted Xuren and the others. They also sensed that something was amiss, as the wreckage of the plane seemed ancient and brought about mixed feelings.

After such a long time, would there be anything useful inside the plane? What happened to the people on the plane now?

With a rifle on my back, I began to climb the tree, and there was a muffled metallic swaying sound coming from the cockpit. Finally, I climbed into the broken cabin. The plane wreckage hung between large trees, entangled with the branches. I stood on it, feeling stable.

Through the sunlight from the top of the cabin, I saw that the interior had turned into a paradise for plants and microorganisms, covered with moss, rust, and even a small fish swimming in a puddle. I searched inside; most things were either soaked and ruined by water or decayed and rusted. The electronic components in the cockpit were completely rotten, and the walkie-talkie, broken in half, was crushed under my foot.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

The only usable items in the cockpit might be a few seats. The seat covers were rotten, but the plastic structure remained intact, and the seat cushion seemed to be made of plastic polymer foam, still soft.

I thought of dismantling them to make a few chairs so that we wouldn't have to squat every day while eating. After checking that there was no danger inside the cockpit, I came out to tell the girls.

Sujie and Peggy both wanted to come up, and I decided to let Sujie stay to take care of Xuren, only allowing Peggy to come up.

"I'll pull you up!" I held Peggy's hand and brought her up to the cockpit.

"It's really disappointing here; there are too few usable things," Peggy sighed, but her eyes made me feel like she had been here before. Perhaps I was just overthinking. I told her about my chair idea.

Peggy laughed and said, "You just discovered this? There are still some useful things here!"

She led us towards the cockpit. I followed her, curious about what she wanted to do. She walked to the cockpit control panel and pried it open with a entrenching tool.

"Although the exterior of this control panel is rusty, there should be some good things inside. It's waterproof!" Peggy explained.

I felt that Peggy, as a rescue professional, knew more than I did. Following her closely, Peggy's faint fragrance distracted me a bit, but I remained focused on watching her pry open the control panel.
