As I threw my entire body to the side, I managed to avoid death as the wolf's mouth grazed by me.
Yet my eyes widened in surprise as I saw its massive claws raised in the air.
There was no way I could dodge it, my body was on the ground, and my legs couldn't outrun that heavy hind.
But before I could contemplate my death once again.
From out of the skies.
Maggie, Mcfly, and Cotton charged at the wolf sinking their claws into its face.
The wolf grunted in pain and was now shaking its head vigorously to get them off.
Wasting no second, I picked my ass up and ran.
As I ran into the woods,
I felt Mcfly got reduced to dust,
The heavy hinds crushed Maggie,
and Cotton was devoured.
As I felt each and every one of them sacrifice themselves to save me.
An unpleasant memory that I have long since buried flashed through my brain.
Pinned to the ground, with bruises on my face.
My late dog, Max, baring its teeth towards the 4 men.
He charged at them but before he could have reached them, a kick sent him to the ground.
Yet he didn't give up and rose soon after to pounce on them once again.
But no matter how much he got kicked, punched, and beaten, my loyal dog picked himself up again and again to save me.
Anger was boiling within me, I wiggled and with all of my strength tried to escape from the legs of men who pinned me to the ground.
Yet my young body failed me and no matter how much I struggled I couldn't get away from the suffocating soil.
I then heard a whimper,
My eyes dart back to my golden retriever.
Despair was apparent on my face.
As I see that one of them got a hold of its leash.
"WHY?, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?"
I shout at them with a despair-filled voice.
My hand was clutching my chest.
Please make it stop.

Somebody, please.
Anybody.
The suffocating memory was slowly coming back.
I don't want to remember it, please somebody.
The man who held the leash strengthened his grip.
The whimpers of my dog grew louder.
The hand on my chest grew even tighter.
My shaky legs gave out and I kneeled to the ground.
The cries of my late dog rang within my head.
"STOP PLEASE MAKE IT STOP"
"WHY WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?"
I shout and beg at them but soon stopped as I heard the whimpers of my dog were now silent.
After letting go of the leash, he slowly walked towards me.
With my body pinned to the ground, All I can do was watch.
I was powerless, I was pathetic, I was weak.
The man finally reached me, he crouched down to stare at my face filled with tears.
With a grin on his face, he finally opened his mouth.
"Just because,"
******
I opened my eyes back to reality.
Using a tree beside me, I pick myself up.
My hand on the bark grew tighter.
Novel or real life, people like that exist.
Cynical without reason, evil without motivation.
It was a reminder,
A reminder to become stronger.
Inwardly, I activated a skill.
[Mind of Murderer]
All of my emotions were sent onto the wind.
My brown eyes soon went dark.
There was nothing but a goal inside my head.
Butcher that wolf at any cost.
Another flash of memory went through my mind.
It was my young self who was crying next to my loyal dog's grave.
I quickly shook it off.
There was no point to remember any of those things anymore.
Distractions like that would only hinder me.
I release my hand from the tree and quickly took my shirt full of sweat and mud and threw it aside.
I hurriedly hid behind a tree and patiently waited after reloading my gun.
Just seconds after I put down my black shirt, I felt the ground rumble.
It was finally here.
As the colossal wolf gaze at the black shirt for a split second, I wasted no time.
*BANG*
It was a clean and precise hit.
Its left eye was now profusely bleeding.
It grunted in pain and soon looked at me as I walk out of the tree.
As we see eye to eye, there was no fear nor despair on my face, only a cold and piercing gaze.
I soon felt it, the wolf fur stood up.
It was experiencing fear for the very first time in its worthless life.
I was ready to dash right at it but it soon ran.
And just after a few seconds, the rumbling ground and still trees soon calmed down.
Like instinct, I immediately activated by other skill.
[Relentess Pursuer]
From its countless wounds, no matter where it ran or hide, I could feel its presence.
With great haste, I hurriedly went after it, it was significantly faster than me but the longer it got away the quicker my legs seem to be.
As I felt the beast come to a stop.
I hid behind a tree near it and climbed to its branch.
As I see the beast was about to rest peacefully.
I deactivated my [Discreet Steps] for a split second.
And that was enough for him to look in my direction.
With my finger on the trigger, and no ounce of emotion in my eyes.
*BANG*
Its right eye now bled.
The wolf hurriedly stood up to run away again but collided head-first into a tree almost making the poor thing fall to the ground.
It soon blindly swung its claw in an attempt to somehow hit me.
But it was futile, I tightly held my dagger and jumped off the branch.
With the force of gravity helping me, my blade sunk deep, through its thick hide, through its hard skull, and soon, through its massive brain.
The vile scarlet beast dropped like a fly and fell to the ground making me cough some of the dust as I stand on top of its head.
[You have gained 50 EXP]
[Mind of a Murderer can only be activated after 24 hours]
As I feel my emotions rush back like a waterfall and my brown eyes filled with life again.
"HELL YEAH, BABY!"
I danced on that wolf, like how I taunted every enemy I killed while playing a certain game back in my old world.
I soon activated my other skill. [Companion of Crows]
And just like last time a shadow manifested in front of me.
Just after a second, they were done materializing, I threw my entire body at them.
"You smart little buggers," I say to the 3 crowkeeters, who were now pinned on the ground with my hands hugging all of them.
There were pecking my face but I didn't want to let them go for the time being.
Right now,
Well, right now I was happy and I'll savor this moment a little bit longer.
