Dusk (2)

I reached the main gate separating the noble estate from the common area.

The gate was huge, with a couple of guards perusing the area, their armor was extravagantly dressed in jewelry.

There was a line of cars looking to enter through, with one of the guards asking for their identification.

There were walls covering the gate, but the ones from the academy were taller.

Now how would I be able to pass through here?

From out of the shadows, my crows soon came.

I ordered them to survey the area to look for a way through.

They all flew at the same time,

I waited for a couple of minutes as I look at the gate from a mile away on a bench.

The pedestrians that pass by me don't even notice me sitting and would occasionally bump into my foot.

After a solid hour, finally, I heard a chirp inside my head.

*CHIRP* *CHIRP*

It was Cotton, he was telling me that one of the cars in the line had its trunk unlocked.

But will that work?

They do have a scanner beside the gate.

*CHIRP* *CHIRP*

My skill would prevent me from getting scanned?

*CHIRP*

Well, I don't really have a reason to not trust Cotton,

I soon got up from the bench and started walking.

The hovering car was at the back of the line,

And with a soul not hearing nor seeing me.

I got inside.

It was pitch darkness,

But soon, I felt the car move.

From the trunk, I could hear the guard.

"Identification, ma'am"

"Thank you, ma'am, you may go"

I let out a sigh of relief but the problem now is how the f*ck would I get out in a car that can easily break through the speed of sound,

Crap, I didn't think this through.

Well, looks like I'll be here for a while.

Whilst inside the trunk, I ordered Cotton and Mcfly to find a restaurant beside an alleyway.

While Maggie to keep following the car and tell me if the owner finally got out or was occupied.

After about half an hour, the car finally stopped moving.

*CHIRP*

I finally opened the truck after Maggie told me the owner was busy talking to someone on her phone.

Whew, I was sweating nonstop because of how hot it was inside.

But thankfully I now got out and looked around me.

The noble estate,

Every single building here looked expensive, and the sidewalk contrast to the common area that had small cracks, they were spot clean.

Even the people walking beside the pavement were wearing clothes that made my digital wallet shed a tear.

I brushed them off my mind and started walking.

I occasionally admired the part of the city that only the wealthy could enter while waiting for my crows.

But I didn't have to wait any further,

*CHIRP* *CHIRP*

It was Cotton and Mcfly,

They found a restaurant at the very corner of the noble estate and beside it was an alley guarded by a man.

I soon walked, the beating of my heart became faster, yet not a single pulse could be heard.

****

As I got closer, the figure of a man stood tall as he guarded the alley.

I watch from afar, seeing people enter, and saying some kind of code.

In the novel, Oliver and Reynold would try to enter but are unable to say the password, the man wouldn't let them in no matter how much they pleaded.

So they forced their way through,

I can't do that though, as that would make too much noise.

I took my bracelet off my wrist and put it inside my pocket.

Can't let them know, I'm from the academy.

I reached into my chest, and through my clothes, a metal mask came out.

I wore it covering my entire face, through the small little lenses, my sight became clearer, and so is my hearing for some reason.

As I zoom in on the man,

"What's the password?"

He was talking to another person that was trying to enter.

"When the sun sets, the moon rises, when this city fall, the hounds shall ascent,"

The man then nods, as he slowly moved to the side.

After waiting for the line of people to disappear, I started moving my legs.

The man was yawning,

From the street in front of him, I stood.

My beretta pointed at his head.

The gun was shaking as I try to hold it with my hands.

My finger on the trigger, behind the mask I was making a frowning face.

But soon I took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

*BANG*

A silent gunshot,

*SPLAT*

The sound of his brain popping.

*THUMP*

The sound of his lifeless body falling to the ground.

My brown eyes were silently gazing upon the blood flowing from his head.

But I was soon interrupted by a transparent screen appearing before me.

[You have gained 100 XP]

A 100 XP!?

I had to kill 10 Grey forest wolves to get that.

I then look back at the man,

I need to focus, if I let his corpse rot here, some passerby might call the district corps.

I can't let that happen but where would I hide his body?

But before I could start looking,

*CHIRP*

What?

*CHIRP* *CHIRP*

Are you serious?

*CHIRP* *CHIRP* *CHIRP*

Fi-fine, I'll allow it.

From out of the skies, my three crows soon descended toward his body.

With such voracity, they devoured his corpse.

His flesh, his blood, his bone, all gone.

Not a single trace could be found.

And it happened in less than a minute.

I looked at the 3 crows staring at me with their cute black eyes on the ground.

I petted each and one of them vowing inwardly to never anger them in the future.

I soon stopped and made my way further into the alley.

At the end was a metal door.

Slowly, I turned the handle.
