I have no experience in fighting people.
And In order to beat Wyatt, I desperately need it.
I could try to find an alternative like bringing a teacher to prevent what is going to happen but, my identity would be in trouble if I do that.
Even if I tip them anonymously Wyatt can easily use his wealth to find and bribe the one who snitched on him.
In the novel, after getting expelled, his family would be angry at the dishonor that their son experienced.
To be defeated by a commoner, even if Wyatt was not mentioned again in the novel, his family would still keep attacking Reynold for what he has done.
And, I do not want that attention, I'm not strong like Reynold, who could easily beat the assassins and mercenaries that were sent after him.
Why not f*cking punish your son who couldn't keep it in his pants?
A loud sound then echoed within the school.
The sound was coming from a bell, probably the humongous one in the middle of the academy.
"Well then class, it appears that we are done for today, I'll see you tomorrow in the battle building, you are dismissed"
I stretched my arms and proceeded to make my way to the cafeteria to buy some food.
After buying my meal, I started walking back to my room eager to silence the rumbling of my stomach.
But as I go through the student lounge, I overhear a couple of girls talking to one another.
From the stars on their shoulders, it was clear that they were first-years.
"Look at her, isn't she like a monster?"
"I can't believe that the academy actually accepted her people"
As I sneak a glance at the student that they were talking about.
A girl wearing a red uniform, on her shoulder was the symbol of the staff.
She was sitting at one of the many benches, with a book in her hand and her tail resting in her lap, she silently read with one of her brown eyes as the other was covered by her black hair.
From the black tail alone, I already knew that she was a shadowkind, but also, Millia Delanne, the third heroine of the protagonist.
As I look back at the group of girls insulting her,
I kind off get why humans in this world would act that way against them.
Shadowkids are gifted with mana that is able to make departed souls listen to their calling,
But that is also why some humans despise them, as they consider disturbing the dead a taboo.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Well, not my problem, Reynold would come to the student lounge one day and would defend her, and from that they would become friends.
I soon continued walking,
The smell of my food made my stomach rumble even louder.
*****
The next day came, and from the novel, I knew that we are going to be holding a practice combat today.
Every single week there would be one held in the battle building, in order to let the students learn how to fight properly.
It is all for the sake of the global duel, which is held at the end of every semester to give lower students a chance to fight their way through the upper classes.
After getting dressed, I got out of my room to look for the building.
Thanks, to the instructions and map on my bracelet, I was able to find it quite easily.
As I enter the building, the first thing I noticed was a platform raised in the middle.
I sat on the wooden floor as I wait for others to arrive.
After a couple of minutes of being bored, Ms. Rebecca finally showed up.
With her trusty tablet in her hand, she soon started talking.
"Alright, it seems everyone is here, pick someone to pair with, and we'll start,"
Nathan then raised his hand,
"Instructor, I would like to challenge, Gwen to a duel,"
"A duel, not a practice combat?"
Ms. Rebecca then turned her head toward Gwen,
"Do you accept Gwen? Keep in mind if you lose in a duel, Nathan would take your place"
Without a care in the world, she simply nodded.
They soon both started to go up the platform,
"You can do it Gwen!,"
Xayah cheered on her friend, as they prepare to fight.
Gwen then took her Glock from her bracelet and soon a scarlet aura enveloped it.
"Damn, A-Rank aura at that age?"
Some of the students looked amazed yet Nathan simply looked indifferent to it.
He then bowed at her, with such elegance.
Afterward, he reached for his bracelet, a steel sword with the symbol of the academy was now in his hand.
In a split second, a crimson aura enveloped his blade and body.
The students had their jaws wide open, as to be able to simultaneously apply aura to their weapons and body takes extreme control.
Soon, the battle began.
*BANG*
Gwen attacked first, the bullet was crushed by the red aura enveloping Nathan's body.
He soon charged at her and swung his blade at a terrifying speed.
Yet, Gwen merely dodged with ease.
Nathan quickly followed with another swing.
*BANG*
His sword was sent back,
"What? Was that mana? did she just apply mana to the bullets!?"
One of the students near me could not believe what he just saw.
Gwen just now, applied a spell on one of her bullets,
I think it was called [Accelerate].
Nathan quickly got his composure and charged once again.
*BANG*
This time he dodged the bullet barely by moving to the side.
But in the split second that Nathan tried to dodge,
Gwen used this opportunity to get up and close to Nathan,
Surprised seeing Gwen in front of his face in an instant.
He quickly tried to swing his sword at her.
But before he could move his blade.
Gwen grabbed him by the collar and slammed him to the ground.
*THUD*
Nathan slightly bounced at the sheer impact of his body hitting the platform.
From that sudden attack, the control he had over his aura was gone.
And the crimson aura covering his blade and body soon disappeared.
As he quickly opens his eyes, the barrel of a gun lay apparent to his face.
Xayah from the sidelines, cheered even harder at Gwen.
"Go, Gwen!"
While the silver-haired girl showed no emotion.
"Victor, Gwen Lynine,"
After Ms. Rebecca announced the victory.
Gwen stopped aiming her Glock at Nathan's face and stored it in her bracelet.
Nathan then stood up,
"Thank you for the fight, Gwen,"
He bowed his head to her with elegance and dignity.
Gwen didn't bother to answer and went back to Xayah who was congratulating her nonstop.
Some of the students respected Nathan, for being able to have such grace even after losing so easily.
But oh, boy if they knew, he is probably using every muscle of his body right now to endure his rage.
"Next, students, Rank 3, Xayah Vienna, and Rank 4, Oliver Fairfield, kindly come to the platform."
"Good luck, Xayah,"
"Don't worry Gwen, this will be over in a flash,"
I gently supported my head with my hand as I look at both of them enter the platform.
But then a transparent blue screen soon appeared before me blocking my vision.
