Devoid of emotions, my eyes scan the area before me a hundred times.
Inside my coat dyed in black, my hand rests on the handle of my gun.
The pupils of my eyes go back and forth as I look for any uncertainties.
My ears dim out the chatter in the room.
The world slowly went white as all my attention poured into my eyes.
That accursed terror.
Not a single person knew of her as every person that did died a silent death.
Except for me of course.
I utter a small smile.
I have the novel in my head.
Information is much stronger than a blade.
She had the power to control all that was dark.
And right now in this hall, she was coating herself with a shadow that does not reflect any light effectively making her invisible.
But exactly because of that reason.
A part of this great hall must have an inconsistency with its surroundings.
With utmost concentration, I watch the lights of the chandeliers.
And at the corner of my eyes.
I carefully took the gun out of my coat.
I steady my aim and my finger rests on the trigger.
"Found you,"
*BANG*
A loud sound echoed inside the hall.
And In a split of a second, I feel the gaze of a hundred eyes befall me.
Accompanied by the edges of blades and staffs.
I felt naked but my sight did not break away from the ceiling above the balcony.
I utter a small smile inside my metal mask.
As slowly a silhouette appeared holding her right shoulder with her hand.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
The shadows that covered her were no more.
And our eyes met in the middle.
My brown eyes did not break from her dilated azure eyes.
Her hand could not stop the blood from leaking from her shoulder and eventually, some of it dripped into the balcony.
Half of her face was covered with a cloth but I could tell she was shocked.
"FATHER ABOVE US," Cassandra screams alerted her father beside her.
Duke Gerald immediately looked at the ceiling and his face went pale as soon as he saw the grey cloak of the assassin.
"KNIGHTS!,"
The knights around the hall simultaneously raised their heads.
With their swords coated in aura, they jumped with terrifying power and rushed at the terror above.
The knights were about to swing their swords at her and the mages were about to release their spells but her eyes refused to break away from mine.
Another smile was formed within my smile, the death of the terror this early would be a huge success for the main story.
Thousands would be saved.
And the main cast's chance of achieving a good ending would increase.
But the phrase never celebrate too early was hereby reminded to me.
Tendrils of shadow were let out from her back and knocked all the knights that were about to surround her in an instant.
She then looked at the mages around her that were about to cast their spells.
Her right eye became purple and all were nullified in an instant.
She then turned her eyes on Duke Gerald and Cassandra on the balcony.
Duke Gerald had his sword pointed at her and Cassandra was behind her back.
Using the black tendrils behind her she launched herself forward with both of her blades coated in red aura.
Duke Gerald barely had any time to react it was clear he wouldn't be able to block that.
Tsk.
I going to really need a drink after tonight.
In a blur, I was on the balcony and my back was behind Duke Gerald.
"What!?"
Duke Gerald was shocked but I barely paid any attention to him.
A shield of blue was coated around me,
The raw power of the blades of the Terror.
I felt it all.
With one strike my blue bubble was broken like glass but the shockwave sent the terror back.
Each and every single fiber of my body wanted to scream.
But I held in the urge.
As she was sent back to the wall her tendrils latched on it.
A soft voice was heard from the face cloaked with cloth.
"You...."
"Who are you?"
Barely holding the pain in my voice I opened my mouth.
"Nice to meet you, Terror,"
I could see her head jerk back.
"It was you who told Duke Gerald,"
"Why are you trying to help them?"
Noticing the tendrils behind her back tense up, she was about to try again.
I need to distract her.
"I'm not,"
"Huh?"
"I'm an assassin like you, Terror"
The tendrils behind her back then loosened, as she let out a small laughter.
"Then that means, I'm your contract?"
I didn't reply instead I looked directly into her azure eyes.
"You dare?"
"You know who I am right?"
"You're not even worthy to be called as a thr-"
Instead of letting her run her mouth,
I used my fourth blink to appear right in front of her and,
*BANG*
I fired my beretta aiming for her face.
But by using one of her tendrils she was able to block the bullet.
But I didn't falter on my left hand my dagger imbued with my black aura.
Using all of my strength I plunged it right into her chest.
"AAAAAAAARGHHH"
A screeching scream could be heard coming out of her mouth.
I immediately jumped off her and fell to the ground.
From below I raised my head and watched the tendrils of the Terror wriggle in pain.
That was barely enough to kill her but now I caught her attention.
"You f*cking da-"
"Am I a threat now terror?"
Her well-composed figure from earlier was now gone.
Her eyes of blue were looking at me full of anger and hatred.
"You...."
"Who are you,"
"I'm the Unseen Threat,"
"And I will make sure that no one will believe you've even existed,"
