Attention

As I return to class I can almost feel the hundred eyes of Theos looking at me again.

"Ah, Troi, you're back, go back to your seat,"

Trying my best to not throw up at the stares that were directed at me I made my way back to my seat.

I can occasionally see some of my classmates glance at me as I mindlessly listen to Ms. Rebecca's lecture.

Holy sh*t can they stop, they don't even care how obvious they are anymore.

As I Inwardly wish for the unwanted attention being directed at me to go away,

Thankfully I didn't have to wait any further,

The entire class was at a standstill as a certain person entered in,

The man who defeated a demon despite being a first-year.

The man who saved the academy from a ticking time bomb.

The freshman who became a hero,

"Stu-Student Reynold,"

Ms. Rebecca stuttered as he entered while every single gaze in the room was directed at him and Xayah beside,

"Hello, Ma'am, we've returned," Reynold didn't care a single bit about the stares, no actually, he didn't even notice that everyone was looking at him, as he stood by the door.

Xayah then wrapped one of her arms around Reynold's neck,

"Not just any student, Ma'am, but the Youngest Protector! The Defeater of Demons! The Legend of the First-Years! Reynold Heartsteel!"

As Xayah boastfully shouted to the entire class,

No one could deny nor refute her, as everyone here knew the magnitude of what Reynold did last night.

Some looked at him with sparks in their eyes, while some,

I took a glance at Nathan he was giving off a dignified smile and occasionally nodding at Reynold but I knew from the novel.

Beneath that noble facade was a hidden hatred burning within, Because of what Reynold did, the entire academy right now has heightened their security, which means, he would have to wait a little longer before enacting his plans to strip Gwen of her throne.

As I glance back at the man who was like a celebrity right now,

He had his hands at Xayah's mouth trying his best to stop her from speaking while his face was reddened by the purple-haired girl's shenanigans.

But as I look closer,

His right hand now had a black glove covering it,

I let out a sigh of relief,

He finally has it.

[Human, I can smell a stench I have long forgotten somewhere in this room,]

[It's faint but I am sure of it, it is from my kin,]

[Oh?]

[You don't sound so shocked, human?]

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

[Oh it's probably because I know where it is coming from,]

[What?]

[You see that young man over there by the door,]

[Yes?]

[Behind that black gloves in his right hand, is the Mark of Aether, the blessing from the God of Radiance embedded on the back of his hand]

From the novel, I know that last night the God of Radiance heard his prayer and chose to bless him with his mark,

And that blessing of his was something I am fairly familiar with,

Another f*cking system,

[Ho-How do you know of this human?]

[Even as I am a god, a being older than time itself, I cannot easily detect a blessing from one of my brothers, beings that share the same blood as I,]

[So tell me human, how do you know of this?]

[And do not utter false words young mortal, as I would like to remind you that I am now a part of your soul, lying would prove worthless]

Ah,

Should I tell him?

[Wait, Theos, I also have a question,]

[Answer mine, first, human,]

[No wait, It's really important, I promise to answer yours immediately after]

[...Fine,]

[What do you ask of me?]

[I still don't understand, instead of blessing me, why did you go all the way to assimilate with my soul?]

[....]

[Young mortal, I am an existence older than the very land you walk in, stronger than any other being that lived since, People from the past cried for me, they pleaded to me, they prayed to me, human,]

A solemn echoing voice rang in my head,

[I was a god, young mortal,]

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

[That was reduced to a prisoner, cast away by someone I still lack the knowledge of, bounded to the azure abyss for eons to come by, the darkness of the depths is all that I could see, the silence of the sea is all I could hear, a vicious void is all that I could feel]

[So I sang,]

[For someone, anyone,]

[No matter who they were]

[Their goals, their aspirations]

[I did not care]

[For all I wanted was to be heard once again,]

[To be seen once again,]

[To be depended on once again]

[I-I.....]

[I hoped to be found]

.

.

.

.

.

.

[And then you arrived, human.]

[Seemingly knowing who I was even after centuries, immediately showing respect to a god long buried in my sands of time, but I cared none for that, for something much more grandeur was in my mind,]

[I have found my way out]

[That is why I assimilated with you human, that is why I sacrificed half of my soul, half of my strength all that in the purpose to be freed from the soundless suffering I endured below the tides]

[So are you satisfied with my answer? Troi Leobrera?]

H-holy sh*t

Oh, my f*cking god.

What the actually f*ck

None of that,

Not a single word that he said was in the novel.

[Now, it is your turn to answer my question, young human]

[How do you know?]

Nah, Theos, I'm sorry, I was about to tell him the entire story but after hearing that ain't no f*cking way am I telling him.

Imagine telling a god who had to go all of that for god knows how long,

That all of his sufferings were just part of a fictional story, a generic f*cking novel that was created to fulfill the harem fantasies of a pathetic f*cking author.

Hahahaha,

Yeah, hell no.

[Human, I am growing impatient,]

Ah, sh*t how am I going to wiggle my way out of this one?

[Young mortal?]

[Have you perhaps forgotten about our deal?]

Wait, maybe I could...

[Theos,]

[Yes?]

[I am able to see the future through small glimpses]

[What?]

[How are you able to do that, No god, no man, no being, could have the power to peer through time itself,]

[I don't know either but that is how I found you, how I knew where you were, how I knew who you were.]

[You...You are not lying.]

The conversation in my head was then interrupted by a chilling voice from Ms. Rebecca.

"Alright, I would like to just say, hero or not, it still does not give the both of you the right to waste more precious time in my class,"

Xayah and Reynold immediately stopped bickering with each other,

"I-I'm sorry, ma'am"

I then hear some chuckles coming from the other students,

Reynold then apologized instantly and they soon made their way back to their seats,

But before they could return,

"And Reynold,"

"Yes ma'am?"

Ms. Rebecca then let out a cough,

"I would like to say thank you, for what you did, no amount of gratitude could ever make up for it, You displayed an achievement worthy of a student of Tyresia."

"Tha-thank you, ma'am!"

Reynold's face was tomato red while I could see Xayah smiling at him,

[Are you not angry human?]

[For what?]

[It was after all really you who-]

[Oh that?]

[Theos, as you longed for someone to find you not caring who would hear your soothing voice in the progress,]

[I too only care to return to where I truly belonged, glory? fame? I care not for that, because in the end, the fact remains that I do not belong in this place,]

[All I truly want is to go back home,]

[I understand, human,]

As the class continued,

I inwardly wish that my future endeavors could go as smoothly as they did last night.

Well, I just need to prepare even more thoroughly then I won't have to worry about a single thing.
