Chapter 77 : Underwhelming

Chapter 77 : Underwhelming

"Leave two-thirds of the Gold Coins and the Precious Stones for Marshal Cesar to give to the people who suffered losses back in his Village then bring the rest over here to me," Aaron ordered Pio and Lucas before looking towards Sherry, "She's your responsibility since you're the one who snatched her from that poor Noble fellow. I don't want to see her giving me any trouble in the future alright! That chick was willing to throw her life away by taking an Arrow on her Shield from Rhinne just to protect someone as pathetic as that dude... People who do that don't just change overnight you know, you better keep your eye on her because I'm going to hold you responsible for everything."

Sherry nodded before looking toward Aeona and saying : "You heard young master Ron. You're with me from now on, don't leave my side."

Aeona opened her mouth and answered : "Got it." While feeling at a loss, this female Guardian-Knight understands that so far she's being treated much better than a hostage would receive from a captor.

But instead of feeling angry at her Lord-Viscount which just abandoned her earlier without voicing a single complaint or showing any sign of hesitation or reluctance.

This woman is feeling like she dropped some sort of weight off her shoulders once Gerand Specter left her behind.

After Aeona graduated from the Knights Temple-Branch in Dark-Woods Kingdom and was happy after getting recruited by Duke Dermoor Specter's house, but the one she was supposed to serve had this deep darkness inside him and his ambition was way beyond what she expected.

She served Viscount Gerand for 2 months back in Crescent-Lake City before the man suddenly decided to gather an Army and ride West towards Windy-Cliff Town.

During these first 2 months of service, Gerand Specter made a lot of advances on her put she always maintained a respectful distance from him while staying absolutely loyal to her Liege-Lord all the time.

Once their Black Army arrived at Windy-Cliff Town, she followed her Lord-Viscount and bore witness to the events which would horrify any person had they stood in her shoes during that time.

Just to settle some old financial debt with the Baron which acted as the manager of Windy-Cliff Town in place of Viscount Gerand Specter, her Lord-Viscount raided that Baron's house with his Army and ransacked everything before promoting some Knight to Baron and bestowing upon that person this Royal-Rank then putting him in the position of acting manager of that Town.

Maybe he was drunk on the feeling of getting what he wants with force, maybe he had it all planned beforehand.

Gerand Specter took the spoils he looted after laying waste to a Noble house and pushed further West with his Black Army.

For a month Aeona kept hearing her Lord-Viscount spending the nights talking about what he's going to do to the Head-Reapers Army after taking Marshal Cesar's head until he drinks himself to sleep or tires himself out dry-humping some of the poor women which were forced to keep his boring company.

In the beginning his efforts really had some success thanks to the excellent work his team of Strategists did in gathering intel and making shady deals with the people of the Marshal's Army especially the honeyed-promises they gave to the High-Ranking officers like Kaiser and the rest.

Thanks to the well-coordinated work between both sides, the Black Army successfully snuck deep within the Rotten-Swamp without being noticed by any of the sentinels or scouts from the Head-Reapers Army.

Then someday Aeona woke-up to find that there's some great news from the opposing camp which made Gerand Specter almost dance from joy and laugh like a maniac before hurrying to wear his Armor and lead his Army West.

Her Lord-Viscount's Black Army faced almost no opposition after storming their way through the Village's East-Gate, they almost had their opportunity of actually taking Reapers-Fort if it wasn't for Gerand Specter's stupid decision of taking his sweet time toying with Rhinne and her group after noticing his clear superiority in that situation.

But once that kid appeared everything was lost and their so-called clear superiority was evaporated into thin air!

While Aeona was deep in her thoughts Pio and Lucas were frowning because in their opinion giving two-thirds to the people of Rotten-Swamp Village is a bit too much.

But both men exchanged a glance then shrugged while shaking their heads before unloading one chest after another from the Centipede's back.

Sherry was smiling widely after getting her hands on this Guardian-Knight before putting some of the Jewelry on the woman while asking her all sorts of questions, like what's her favorite Weapon? Would she mind if they spar? Can she teach her some tricks? What color is her Guardian-Halo? What's her strongest Technique? What does it look like? What does it do?

Nina and Heena looked at Aeona's overcrowded expression and sympathized with her because their Lucy tends to do so whenever she peppers them with questions!

Aaron collected the chests into his Inventory Space and Aeona gawked once she saw him do it.

"Hehehe..." Sherry laughed smugly once she saw the expression on Aeona's face and patted her shoulder repeatedly while saying : "Don't be so surprised yet big sister Aeona, wait until you see young master Ron's true power. I bet it'd be hard to pick your lower-jaw from the ground when it happens!"

Aeona looked at Sherry doubtfully and squinted her eyes before asking : "Is he really that strong? I thought he was just scary-fast!"

Pio rolled his eyes.

Lucas shook his head.

Sherry smiled teasingly without replying.

Nina shrugged while Heena and Lucy were more interested with the Jewelry and their beautiful designs even if they're not going to wear any.

"Alright. Let's go back home since we're done here, Nina... make sure this pet of yours doesn't break anything in my house or it's running all the way back next time we go anywhere far." Aaron activated Mystique-Door and entered the diagram then a step later he was face to face with Marshal Cesar, Dalair, and Rhinne once again.

"Welcome back young master Ron." Cesar smiled while looking through the portal on the other side where there's a huge stack of chests and some of them were left with open lids and showing the brightness of Gold or the colorful glittering of Precious Stones.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

The kid took his seat on the table before saying : "I handled that Noble and his people but you still have to deal with the aftermath and the matters related to the people of your Village, use these Gold Coins and Precious stones to reward and re-compensate wisely."

"Dalair." the old man looked to his friend.

Dalair looked at the other side and made a quick estimation of the total amount of wealth before nodding : "I think there's more than double of what I'm going to need," Afterwards the Strategist looked towards the boy and added : "Are you sure about giving us all of this money?"

Aaron looked at Dalair and said : "You guys still have an army to take care of and I bet it's going to cost you a penny and half to recruit, arm, and train replacements to the ones you lost in the battle or the ones you lost faith in standing shoulder to shoulder with them while facing a common enemy.

"Paying extra to end this troublesome issue of yours quickly means you having more time to handle our business and widen the scope of our trade.

"You're one of my partners and I'm supposed to take care of you in the time of need that's why I intervened twice to end that problem of yours before things went beyond saving-point.

"But you better not get too comfortable and get used to me showing up to save your asses whenever things get too heated for you to handle on your own.

"I'm warning you guys here... Next time I see any of my partners messing up twice in a row is the time they get cut off for good."

The kid gestured towards the diagram with his hand before saying : "Beat it. I still have to visit Chadrion and Phyllia's territories next."

Cesar and Dalair were feeling both embarrassed yet frightened with their mouths completely dry and parched like a stretch of desert land after receiving this scolding from this boy.

He really did snatch them from an extremely disadvantageous situation and intervened to balance the scale once again, he gave them time and opportunity to keep standing strong in the face of the Duchy which is number one on their list of enemies!

"Rhinne." Cesar looked towards the Commander of the Elite Archer unit before entering the diagram and stopped her from following him and Dalair.

"Yes Marshal." The woman stopped and inquired while looking at this old man which she really considers a father.

Dalair smiled, "You're to act as our link with young master Ron, whenever there's an update on the situation or orders to deliver to us you take care of everything from her on out."

Rhinne nodded, "As you command." Then she went to stand behind the kid which rolled his eyes once he saw the number of people following his heels increasing once again.

Sherry was probably the happiest with the addition of another big sister which she can spar with and learn from in the future.

Aaron watched the diagram disappear while thinking : 'These two shameless old foxes are already planting spies within my camp so openly, now I'm kind of regretting not letting them sink waist-deep in the mud before giving them a hand of help. Nah! I probably should've let them sink nose-deep... I'm too green.'

Afterwards the kid took a quick nap then took his people and rode Nina's pet Northeast towards Phyllia's Blue-Flowers Village at dawn.

Heena had to drag Lucy away because this woman kept insisting on giving them a ride this time because it's unfair if Nina get's to have all the fun while they stay in that boring Village doing nothing.

Aaron promised to give each one of the 3 Honorable Whispering Sisters the same kind of miraculous items which helped Sera become so strong if Lucy allows Nina to have that honor.

But under one condition, next time he visits the Dark-Forest to play... Only Lucy can join him.

Of course the woman immediately agreed.

Especially when she's already aware of the rumor about Aaron visiting the Dark-Forest the night before the 3 of them arrived in Pine-Breeze Village and laying waste to tens of thousands of Doom-Vespas with the Fire-Technique which Sera mentioned before.

However, the way these guards described the explosion and the scene of absolute and complete destruction which the woman witnessed with her own eyes... Everything was completely different which doesn't make sense to her at all.

Meanwhile Lucy was awaiting expectantly for the boy and his group to complete their objective in the 2 Villages, Aaron and the rest arrived in Phyllia's territory where Blue-Flowers Village is located.

"I see why it's called that." Aaron muttered while looking around him where green grass is covering the flat lands like a thick carpet and tiny blue flowers are sprouting from it.

"Despite being located in the most disadvantageous locations in this area, Blue-Flowers Village is probably one of the safest Villages." Nina muttered while admiring the beautiful and calming scenery.

Sherry nodded before adding : "I've heard from big sister Manji once that these blue flowers are special for two reasons but she only told me one of them, she also told me that planting these flowers is hard and whoever dares cause wanton destruction to them would be chased everywhere by a bunch of crazy women!"

"Heh." Rhinne laughed because she found it amusing but she quickly looked away while blushing when everyone looked at her silently.

Aeona opened her mouth to say : "This is Bell-Grass which is famous to grow in abundance within Allium-Desert far South of the Dark-Woods Kingdom, its Blue-Bell Flowers have a unique odorless powder constantly growing then falling from their petals which acts as an Insect-Repellent and the great majority of Beasts hate coming anywhere near it without being provoked because staying for too long durations within these unfavorable environments would end up poisoning their blood and contaminating their innards before ultimately ending with their certain death."

"Wow! Big sister Aeona you're so knowledgeable! As expected from a Guardian-Knight and a graduated member of the Knights Temple." Sherry hugged the arm of the female Knight and smiled widely while rubbing cheeks with this new friend of hers.

*Humph*

Rhinne didn't seem too happy because this woman used to be her enemy a few hours ago and kept preventing her from killing that arrogant prick Gerand Specter over and over again.

"That Axe-Gang is a group of female Bandits but have you ever wondered how they were able to keep growing in numbers?" The Bow-Woman asked Sherry.

Sherry blushed before muttering softly : "Big sister Manji said they kidnap men and force themselves on them before killing their partners afterwards just like how female spiders and insects do!"

"Bfft..."

*Cough*

Lucas laughed while Pio went white from fear and almost choked once he remembered that they're on their way to a whole punch of said women who force then kill their partners and poor him is one of only 2 "Able" males in this group!

"No! Let's go back young master! Betty is still waiting for me!"

"Zip it you gigantic idiot!" Aaron said between bites, "Can't you see they're getting into the interesting part of the story?" Before nodding to Rhinne to keep going.

Rhinne laughed before shaking her head once she saw Sherry being shy and looking adorably cute, "They're descendants of Moon-Berserkers which is one of the nomadic tribes of Allium-Desert, these Blue-Bell Flowers help keep them stay in control of their Bloodline which is why they keep making sure to remove more trees before flattening the earth and planting more of this Bell-Grass to help them keep the Beasts away and make sure none of them goes Berserk and cause a bloodbath."

'Bloodline huh!' Aaron thought while looking at his own "Race" which is detailed as "Half-Blood" without any further explanation, 'Even the Second-Phase of the Main Story-Line Quest didn't begin immediately once I've completed the First-Phase which was unexpected, now I don't even know what I'm supposed to do the initiate it. But at least I'm glad that I removed that leech from my body before it drew anything troublesome towards my location, hopefully I was quick to handle that situation before anything beyond my capabilities comes my way.'

"Young master Ron. Welcome to our Village." Phyllia and Tess were standing at the South-Gates of their Village behind some really old woman.

"She lied to me!" Sherry suddenly cried these words and grit her teeth once she saw a group of men standing among the Axe-Gang Bandits and more of them walking everywhere within the Blue-Flowers Village.

Phyllia and Tess frowned and looked towards the maid in silence.

Pio released a deep sigh of relief.

Lucas, Rhinne, Aeona, and Nina smiled.

Aaron acted like nothing is bothering him in this situation and used a napkin to wipe his mouth clean before Teleporting right in front of the old woman which startled her so much that he started to worry she might actually die from a heart-attack!

'Berserkers my ass, this old hag is having a heart-attack already! What a load of crap.'
