Chapter 41: Dangerous Feast

The Sect of Sneak’s mess hall was a spacious room containing a few long, rectangular tables. Said tables were composed of black stone and were lined with black, stone benches along their longer sides. Bliss sat upon one of these black, stone benches, the black high-heels cladding her feet resting upon the gray stone of the floor. An assortment of various foods was spread out upon the table’s top. Lati sat at Bliss’s right, and Amelia sat at Bliss’s left. Ruby Red hung from Bliss’s neck.

Bliss took a quick sip of the sweet juice from her glass. She smiled as she placed her glass back down. A slight tap sounded as the bottom of her glass met the stone top of the table. Her white bunny ears twitched cutely. This juice is great. It is nice and sweet. The juice she had just sipped was a mix of various berry juices.

Her golden eyes went down to her plate. Her bunny ears gave another cute twitch. Upon her plate was a bit of yellow cheese and some kind of sweet pastry. Gingerly, she took a little nibble of the cheese and then a bigger bite of the pastry. I love sweet stuff. She set the pastry back down. At her right, Lati picked at her own plate.

Amelia looked to Bliss, the four tentacles coming from her lower back swaying. “Try this, my master.” She placed a large plate holding some kind of reddish cake beside Bliss’s plate. A knife lay alongside the cake on the cake’s plate. “I made it for you.” Her red eyes watched Bliss expectantly, a smile on her face. Her four tentacles continued to sway.

It is kind of sweet she made me a cake. Bliss’s golden eyes went to the cake, and her white bunny ears gave yet another cute twitch. The cake does not look half bad. I wonder how it tastes. She picked up the knife beside the cake. Smiling, she maneuvered the knife to the cake’s top and then pressed down. The cake did not budge. This may be a problem. A sweatdrop rolled down her right cheek.

“Let me, my master.” Amelia spoke cheerfully as she took the knife from Bliss. She sliced into the suspiciously hard, red cake. For some reason, red splattered.

Bliss paled. Why do I feel like I am watching a predator tear into its prey? A fleck of red splattered onto her right cheek, and her golden eyes widened. Gulping, she wiped the red fleck off her cheek with her right pointer finger. Her golden eyes went to the red that was now on her finger. Is this … She sweatdropped again. Is this blood? She held her reddened finger to her nose and sniffed. It smells sweet. She stuck her reddened finger into her mouth. It tastes like chocolate with a hint of honey. She sucked the red substance off her finger before removing said finger from her mouth. Why was it red though?

“Here you go, my master.” Amelia placed the freshly cut slice of strangely hard cake onto Bliss’s plate.

Bliss blinked and stared down at the cake slice. Why do I have a bad feeling about this? She gulped, her bunny ears twitching. Steeling herself, she picked up her fork. She tried stabbing her fork into the slice of cake, but her fork refused to pierce the slice. Seriously, why is Amelia’s cake so damn hard.

Stolen story; please report.

“Let me help, my master.” Amelia leaned in front of Bliss, a fork in the red woman’s right hand.

She smells … really nice. Bliss’s golden eyes went to Amelia as the woman in the maid outfit leaned in front of her. Is she wearing perfume?

Amelia stabbed her fork into the slice of cake. “Open up.” She brought the bit of cake on the fork toward Bliss’s mouth.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this? Bliss opened her mouth, her white bunny ears twitching some more. She accepted the piece of cake from Amelia’s fork into her mouth. This is … She chewed, her white bunny ears still twitching. It tastes pretty good, but the texture is so grainy. It is like chewing on gravel. She swallowed. Why do my teeth hurt? Her stomach rumbled.

“It tastes pretty good, but I am afraid I am stuffed.” Bliss forced a smile, and her stomach rumbled again.

“Are you trying to watch your figure, my master?” Amelia’s eyes went to Bliss’s chest, and Ruby Red glinted. “I am sure it will all go to your boobs so eat as much as you want.”

“Y-You do not say.” Bliss’s stomach rumbled yet again as she turned back to the offending slice of cake. Her white bunny ears twitched, and her complexion was starting to pale. A sweatdrop rolled down her right cheek. How can I get out of this without saying I am afraid her cooking will kill me? Another rumble sounded from her stomach. I really am not feeling so great.

Lati glanced at the paling bunny succubus and then at the rest of Amelia’s cake. She reached across Bliss and took the cake, setting its plate down beside her own. Taking the knife from the cake’s plate in hand, she made to cut the cake. She did not succeed.

“What the hell, Amelia?!” Lati’s long tongue flicked out in anger. “Why is this cake so damn hard?!” Her crimson eyes looked to Bliss with worry. “You OK, Bliss? You do not look so hot right now.”

“I am sure …” Bliss’s voice sounded weak, her complexion turning paler. “I am sure it will be fine.” More rumbling came from her stomach, and she broke out in a cold sweat. “Actually … I really … don’t feel … so great.” She passed out and fell back. Her legs were left poking up into the air.

“Bliss!” Lati yelped, her long tongue flitting out. She rushed to Bliss’s side and frantically tugged her unconscious friend right side up. She turned to Amelia. “Don’t just sit there! Help me get her to the infirmary! Actually, help me find the damn infirmary!”

Amelia leapt to her feet. “I will find the infirmary. Just stay with my master until I get back.” She started running, the four red tentacles coming from her lower back swaying.
