“So this is it?” Bliss stood in front of a grand, golden door. A likeness of a lion had been engraved upon the door, as if the likeness was keeping guard. A golden handle bearing the shape of a lion’s head jutted out from the door. Why do I get the feeling that this door is not meant to be opened? Her golden eyes went to the bits of golden chain hanging limply at the sides of the grand door.

“Yes. Yes.” Snek clasped her hands together. “The great treasure is through there.”

Bliss glanced to Lati, and the eyes of the two demonic women met. After getting a small smile from the snake woman, Bliss reached forward and grabbed the handle shaped like a lion’s head. The silky, ivory skin of her right hand gently pressed against the golden handle’s surface. It is warm. Her mind went back to the black, stone chair she had sat in while Snek had been presenting her atrociously bad drawings. It is similar to that chair. This feels warmer though. Perhaps even hot. Is the door generating heat? Her bunny ears gave a nervous twitch. Please don’t lead to an inferno.

Gulping, Bliss gave the door’s handle a twist. With a notable click, the door began swinging towards her. The bunny succubus stepped back to give the door room to open, her body tense. As the area behind the door came into view, she breathed a sigh of relief, both her ears and wings drooping. Beyond the door, there was no inferno. I guess that heat is just a property of the door after all. Bliss stepped through and motioned for the others to follow her.

Beyond the door, Bliss found herself in a cerulean cavern dotted with bits of red. She smiled as the cavern’s cool air hit her. Numerous flecks of light drifted through the air, providing a dim, dream-like illumination to the place. She held her hands out and caught one of these flecks as it slowly drifted by. It is warm. She opened her hands and found that the captured fleck had vanished. It really is an odd mix of cool and warm in here due to these things. What are they anyway?

[Ambient life-force. This place possesses a high amount of ambient life-force, and it is manifesting as those lights.]

I-I see. Bliss blinked, her bunny ears twitching. She turned to Lati. “How are you doing over there? Is it too dark for you?” Bliss had Night Vision, so dim light did not bother her. She could tell that the lighting was dim though and knew that Lati could not see as well in such lighting.

Lati glanced to Bliss and then started looking around. “Well it is kind of dark but not that dark.” She looked back to Bliss. “I think I’ll be fine with this lighting. Besides …” she turned her attention to the flecks of light, “it is rather beautiful, isn’t it? Kind of has a dreamy look to it, doesn’t it?” Her tongue flitted out, and a smile settled in on her face.

“It is quite pretty.” Bliss turned her attention back to the flecks of light as the numerous flecks continued to drift though the air. These lights really are beautiful. She blinked and then looked around. Wait. Where the hell is Snek?

“Something wrong?” Lati’s red eyes went to Bliss, the snake woman’s tongue flitting out.

Bliss sighed, her bunny ears drooping. “I think a certain someone ditched us again.”

Lati cocked an eyebrow and then started glancing about the place. “Again?! That bitch!” She huffed, puffing her chest out, fire in her crimson eyes. “I cannot believe this! This is supposed to be a joint operation, and she ditches us again! What the hell is her problem!” The large mounds of her chest (larger than even Bliss’s) heaved as she fumed.

“Y-You alright?” Bliss sweatdropped, her bunny ears twitching. “We can go back. The door is,” she glanced back to the door, “right over there.”

“No fucking way!” Lati crossed her arms, continuing to seethe. She flitted her tongue out forcefully. “Ditched or not, we are getting our cut.” She looked to Bliss, a manic look to her eyes. “Come on. Let’s get going. Our cut awaits.” She grabbed the bunny succubus’s arm and started pulling said bunny succubus deeper into the cavern.

“Do you even know where you are going?!” Bliss sputtered as Lati pulled her onward.

Lati stopped, releasing the succubus’s arm. “Good point. We will get out cut, but we should be more careful. Assuming Snek was not lying, there should be monsters in this place.”

Right. Snek did mention monsters, didn’t she? Something small and fluffy jumped out in front of her. Wait. Is that … She looked at the cute, small critter, a smile forming on her lovely face. It is a bunny. She moved closer to the bunny and crouched down. A~~h. It is so~~ cute. She reached down to try to pet it.

The bunny stopped being a mere bunny and bloated up to freakish proportions. It became big and meaty with ears that were far too small for its frame. At its front, it had a mouth that took up a good deal of its revised body, rolls of razor sharp teeth lining said mouth. Bliss pulled back and fell on her ass as the monster snapped its massive maw shut.

What the hell?! Bliss stared at the monstrosity in horror, having come close to losing a limb to the thing. She eeped and frantically scrambled to her feet as the creature hopped closer. Why did it go from being so cute to being like this? Tears started to bead up in her eyes.

So it is basically a bunny mimic that pretends to be a bunny instead of a treasure chest?

How nefarious? Bliss jumped back as the beast bunny took another unsuccessful bite at her. I would rather not be on this thing’s menu. She threw a punch, hitting the monster square in the face. Said monster moved back just a bit but did not really seem all that perturbed. Where is a weapon when I need one?

That should work … I hope. Bliss drew her right hand back with the intention of using her new Shadow-Claw skill. Inky tendrils of shadow began to coalesce around the digits of her right hand. The beast bunny hopped closer, saliva dripping from its massive mouth, hunger showing in its deep-blue eyes. Bliss lunged forward with a burst of speed. She passed it, slashing it with shadowy claws as she did. The beast bunny collapsed in defeat. The shadows gathered at her right hand faded away. Both her bunny ears and succubi wings drooped in relief. Thank hell that worked.

“Well done.” Lati clapped enthusiastically, her long tongue flitting out cutely. “That was so cool. Was that a new skill?”

“Well … Yeah. It was a new skill.” Bliss put a hand behind her head sheepishly, her bunny ears twitching. “Got it just in time.” She smiled and looked to the defeated beast bunny. “You think it is dead?”

Lati gave the beast bunny a little kick. “Seems pretty dead.”

Bliss’s eyes were still on the presumably dead beast bunny. Little flecks of light began to bleed out from it and float up into the air. Her golden eyes followed one of the lights up. I guess it is bleeding life-force. She looked to the other lights floating about. Why does this place have so much ambient life-force anyway?
