The passage opened up into a spacious area. Bliss stepped into said area, moving to Lati’s right side as the two demonic women continued walking. The stone in this new area looked like the stone from the last for the most part, being of a light-blue coloration with red speckles. This stone, though, was a bit more speckled, not much but it was noticeable.
Bliss’s golden eyes glanced at a puddle as she and Lati walked by it. The puddle was not that large, but it’s coloration was an opaque red. Is that blood? Please say that is not blood.
[That is not blood.]
Then what is it?
[Red water.]
Red water? Bliss brought her right hand to her chin, her bunny ears twitching cutely.
[It is water that is red.]
Well, thanks for the red-water definition, I guess. Bliss sweatdropped, and then she glanced around. There is actually quite a bit of that stuff here. Her golden eyes went to another of the numerous pools of red. The surface of the pool was pristine, not a ripple in it. She tilted her head up. I don’t see any of that stuff dripping down. She looked down. Could it be coming up from below? She sighed. Maybe I should stop thinking about it.
“Hey, Bliss.” Lati spoke chipperly, the tapping of her black high-heels stopping. “Look at that.” She extended a finger, a big smile on her face.
Bliss turned to see what her friend was pointing at. Her golden eyes widened at what she saw. How is it that I managed to miss that? Oh … That’s right. I was obsessing over red puddles. She sighed, both her bunny ears and wings drooping. She looked back up to the thing Lati was still pointing at. Not far in front of them, quite easy to notice actually, there was what appeared to be a large treasure chest just sitting there.
“You think our cut is in there?” Lati clasped her hands together happily, her long tongue flitting out. “Let’s see what is in it.” She headed for the chest.
“Wait a moment!” Bliss started heading for the chest herself, her high-heels tapping on stone. “What if it is a trap or something?!”
The two demonic women reached the treasure chest and came to a stop. There was a pool of red water to the left of the chest, almost but not quite touching it. Bliss eyed the puddle nervously, her white bunny ears giving a bit of a twitch. Her reflection stared back at her.
Why is this puddle setting me on edge? Bliss turned away from the puddle and to the chest itself. This chest is kind of just sitting here, and I cannot see if anything is in the puddle beside it. Maybe that is it. What if the puddle is not just a puddle? What if something is in the puddle? She narrowed her eyes at the puddle. Wait a moment. She looked back at the treasure chest. What if the chest is not just a chest?
“Are you OK?” Lati’s tongue flitted out, her crimson eyes on Bliss.
“I-I’m good.” Bliss put her right hand behind her head sheepishly, her black succubi wings doing a bit of a flutter. “I was just thinking …”

“Thinking what?” Lati’s tongue flitted out again, her expression curious.
“What if the chest is not just a chest?” Bliss looked back at the treasure chest and tensed up.
“I don’t follow.” Lati looked to the treasure chest too.
“What if it is a mimic or something?” Bliss’s bunny ears twitched. “I’ll try attacking it.” She summoned her shadow claws. Narrowing her eyes, she swung and scored a Shadow Claw to the thing’s front. Nothing really happened other than Bliss carving a few deep gashes into the treasure chest’s front. She just stood their for a moment, her shadow claws fading away.
“Uh … Bliss,” Lati’s crimson eyes were on the bunny succubus, a sweatdrop rolling down the snake woman’s temple, “the chest is just a chest. I think we will be fine.”
“I see.” Bliss drooped. Guess I was worried for nothing. Talk about making a fool of myself. She looked up, her golden eyes returning to the now-damaged treasure chest. Well, it could have been a mimic, I guess. She grabbed the treasure chest’s lid and lifted it. Her jaw immediately dropped. “The damn thing is empty!”
Lati stepped beside Bliss, the snake woman’s tongue flitting out. “Actually, there is a piece of paper. She reached in, grabbed the small paper, and started reading. “For your greed, you get nothing. Enjoy being mauled by beast bunnies.” She sighed and wadded the paper up before tossing it back into the treasure chest. “Sounds like a trap. So much for it being our cut.”
Figures that it is a trap. Bliss shut the treasure chest’s lid and turned away from it. Her golden eyes came to a trio of beast bunnies. For now, the three looked like cute, white bunnies, but that would not last. Pink, blue, and green. Bliss noted the eye colors of the three beast bunnies. The are kind of color-coded in a way. She summoned her claws of shadow once more. Let’s get this over with.
The three beast bunnies did what beast bunnies do and bloated up, taking on a much more monstrous form. Their massive mouths gaped, rolls of razor sharp teeth on display. The pink-eyed beast bunny hopped forward, drool dripping from its lips. Bliss rewarded it with a Shadow Claw, and it fell in defeat. Two beast bunnies remained.
Bliss smirked, looking up from her defeated foe. Life-force lights floated up from it into her vision. The blue-eyed beast bunny met her gaze. She spread her wings and then darted by the thing. Her claws met it as she passed. The blue-eyed beast bunny fell in defeat, more life-force lights floating up from it.
This feels … Bliss glanced at the shadowy claws on her right hand. This feels amazing. Her bunny ears twitched, and she sweatdropped. Oh hell. I am turning into a murder-hobo, aren’t I. She eeped and leapt back, narrowly avoiding getting chomped on by the green-eyed beast bunny. Less worrying about the murder-hobo stuff. More worrying about not getting eaten.
She crouched down, readying her claws. Her golden eyes met the green of her foe. Let’s finish this. The green-eyed beast bunny began a frenzied hop towards her. She rushed forward to meet it. As big as the thing’s nightmarish mouth was, it was no match for her speed. She scored a Shadow Claw right to the thing’s face. The last of the three beast bunnies collapsed, life-force lights spilling from its form. Bliss’s shadow claws faded away. The battle was over.
Bliss turned to Lati. “You know, you could have helped.”
Lati smiled at her, the snake woman’s tongue flitting out. “But you made kicking beast-bunny butt look so good.”
“Uh … Thanks, I guess.” Bliss sheepishly put her right hand behind her head, her bunny ears twitching. A slight blush was on her cheeks.
